00:00I just wonder how satisfying is that when you may be seeing two different sides of your team in the
00:04season?
00:06We had to see a few sides tonight and credit to Keith and his staff and the team
00:12because they're a good team, they're tough to play against, they ask certain questions.
00:18I thought we started fantastically in the game, looked really dangerous,
00:21probably could have had an extra goal or two and then they came into it a little bit.
00:27Half-time was a good position for us to be in, we tweaked a couple of things at half-time
00:30and probably had a little bit more control, the game wasn't as open,
00:33which at that stage is exactly what we wanted really,
00:37seeing the game out in tough circumstances.
00:40It's a big three points, it's that time of the season where it's also crucial.
00:46The boys to win again is a good habit to get used to but it's an important one for us.
01:02I think it's pretty clear how much it means to him.
01:05Probably the situation and the clarity of it has helped everything to be so open and understand.
01:12For the supporters as well, for him, for everybody.
01:16It means a lot to him and credit to him because of the situation that it is.
01:20He's given absolutely everything as well and had some big moments for us.
01:24All round it's quite a nice direction for it to be taken in.
01:32The formation change in the second half, roughly what time in the first half did you decide that you came
01:37to do?
01:38Five minutes before the half-time maybe, five or six minutes before the second goal.
01:45We just felt we were a little bit too open at certain times and we still could be dangerous
01:49but we wanted to stop certain spaces and have a little bit more control within the game and still carry
01:56the threat.
01:57It was purely tactical, I think.
02:00Second half we came out and actually had control and still went forward and looked dangerous.
02:06It was what the game needed at that point really.
02:09So obviously the second goal, we were certain anyway, but the second goal put us in a great position
02:15to have more control of the game.
02:20In the end it's gone to plan and to a point and we've won the game.
02:26So we're happy with that.
02:28Jamie?
02:29I just wanted to check if the dialogue could be obviously tactical.
02:31Purely tactical, yeah.
02:34Hi Michael, another impressive copy of this play tonight.
02:38What's perhaps the most pleasing part of tonight is his defensive effort?
02:42Is it something you've been working on beyond the team?
02:45I just thought on the back of the Chelsea game really he's particularly good.
02:48In the Chelsea game, similar things.
02:50I think showing a little bit of everything, what he can do.
02:53I think he's built up plays, he's taking the ball, he's creation, he's starting the attacks.
03:01He's so effective with that, but definitely he's duels, 1v1s, recovery runs, back tackling.
03:06I think over the last two games he's taken that up a level.
03:10So it's great to see that he can do it.
03:13We know he can do it and we're trying to give him more responsibility as the games go on.
03:17I mean, still not expect too much of him as well.
03:20I'm trying to help him a little bit, but he's doing great at the moment.
03:26Michael, just in terms of the Champions League, you must feel like you're pretty much there now.
03:30I know it's not mathematical, but it's pretty much there.
03:33We give ourselves a great chance, we've put ourselves in a big position.
03:35I think these last two results have been big to that.
03:41It's a tough league, it's tough to get wins.
03:43I think you can see that throughout the league.
03:45So to get the amount of wins we've had, especially after the setbacks,
03:51to Newcastle defeat, to then bounce back with Villa,
03:55the Leeds want to bounce back again.
03:56I think the lads have got to take a bit of credit for that.
04:01This week's been very effective in terms of the league.
04:05The other side of it is the Champions League is one thing,
04:07but it's not something that we should be over-celebrating either.
04:09We want to be finishing higher up the league, really,
04:11and we want to be challenging higher up the league and try and get more points.
04:16Our season doesn't get to a close when that happens.
04:18It's one thing, certainly.
04:20We need to try and achieve it.
04:22We've put ourselves in a good position at this moment,
04:24but there's still more work to be done.
04:28What more can you say about Brendan Fernandes?
04:30There's another assist tonight.
04:31He leads in all aspects of the game.
04:34You might not want to over-celebrate Champions League,
04:36but it feels like he should be celebrating some kind of end-season afterwards.
04:40Yeah, listen, hopefully he does.
04:43He deserves it for the impact that he's had and the moments that he's created.
04:47I think whether that's creating, whether that's scoring,
04:50whether that's having other influence within the group.
04:56He's had a big season.
04:58There's no getting away from it.
04:59There was another good performance from him tonight.
05:02Ian?
05:03Hi, Michael.
05:03It's fair to get asked every week if he keeps playing like that
05:06between now and the end of the season,
05:07but as far as you're concerned,
05:09is Casemiro's situation this summer, is that closed?
05:12Yeah, it's pretty clear, yeah.
05:14There's no way back out of it?
05:16No.
05:16From both sides, it's just pretty clear.
05:32Yeah, I think we've got to be able to adapt, you know, and play certain things.
05:37I'm not really a big numbers formation kind of guy.
05:44I think it's certain games, certain things.
05:47I think you can put a formation and numbers on paper,
05:50but actually the way you play, there's only certain moments
05:53that you're in their numbers, really.
05:54In possession, out of possession, whether you're pressing,
05:56whether you're a little bit deeper.
05:57So, the numbers side of it, it's not so much.
06:00It's what we're trying to achieve with it, you know,
06:01and trying to be flexible.
06:02I thought Moose came in again and did fantastically well,
06:05playing two positions to show us on the back of last week.
06:09He was very unlucky not to be playing tonight,
06:12but he stepped in great.
06:15Flexibility is important, adapting is important,
06:17and actually managing the game and what we need,
06:19and I thought we did that tonight.
06:20Karl, and then last question for Tadi.
06:23Thank you, Mr Kirk.
06:24Congratulations on the win.
06:25Stratford Energy is charming one more year for Kastner.
06:29You said the situation was horrible.
06:31He's got four games left.
06:32How do you go about maximising his presence on the field
06:35and addressing him everywhere?
06:37It looks like in places, Manu and others are trying to take some pages
06:41and recite his book as well.
06:44No, Kastner's had an influence within the group.
06:47You know, he's got huge experience, he's a big player,
06:50he's achieved an awful lot in the game.
06:51I have to say since I've been,
06:53he's given everything that he could possibly give.
06:55You know, even the situation has probably helped that,
06:57knowing exactly where it's at.
07:00There's nothing to hide.
07:02And he's threw himself right into it.
07:05It's football, you know.
07:07It's football.
07:07Some players come and go,
07:09players have come and left this football club over the years
07:11and you've got to evolve and you've got to move on
07:13and you've got to adapt.
07:16That's kind of the world we're in.
07:18But he's definitely given everything and I think it's nice
07:20that he's got that connection with the supporters
07:23and it comes from both ways because I know he's an emotional guy
07:27and it means a lot to him.
07:30Hi, Michael.
07:31Benjamin, first half today didn't really get any chances until he scored the goal.
07:35You know, you're on the game a lot when you're on the back foot.
07:37He gets one chance and takes it.
07:39How important is that to have from a number nine?
07:41It feels like, certainly since you've come in,
07:43that's something you've shown a lot,
07:44but he doesn't need kind of getting one double chances
07:46to get the chance and he takes it.
07:48Yeah, it's great if he can score on the first one.
07:53I just think the way the game is at times now,
07:55I think if you are an out-and-out number nine,
07:57the game's kind of went away from it a little bit in many ways.
08:01And it's kind of a bit untouches,
08:03but I think if you are an out-and-out striker,
08:05that lives on the last line and plays for those.
08:07I think sometimes you're not necessarily always involved in the game,
08:12but that's not the role, you know.
08:14He's certainly got a part to play and link play
08:16and out of possession and a role with that,
08:20but I think if you look at out-and-out number nine,
08:24they're there to pick the moments and be there at the right time.
08:27It was a big moment for us.
08:28I thought he took it fantastically well.
08:30He was so calm and composed with it
08:32and it just shows the steps that he's made,
08:34I think, to be in that situation
08:36and have that confidence to put the ball away like you did.
08:40All right, thanks.
08:41All right, guys. Cheers.
