00:00After the wins against City, Arsenal, does this win perhaps feel most significant, especially
00:17with the team's struggles this season against teams?
00:21I'm not sure it's more significant but I think I'm going to still have my ear kind of asking it.
00:29That's probably not to that extreme but I knew today was going to be a really tough game.
00:34You're getting questions all week and people are expecting what you're going to do about breaking down a low block.
00:39Fulham was never going to do that, they've showed that it's a really, really good team.
00:44So we knew today was going to be a big, big challenge and I knew it wasn't going to be easy,
00:50it wasn't going to go smoothly and even at 2-0 they were 5-1 down against City and ended up coming back to 5-4.
00:56We kind of knew that in going into the game and I think the character to show that once we've had that big setback,
01:04it was a huge setback in the 90th minute or whenever it was, to do that on the back of what we did last week off the setback,
01:10it's probably the most pleasing thing to keep the belief, keep the confidence.
01:14Listen, the rest of the game, we can play better at times, we can do things a lot better in certain moments
01:20but I can't fault the players' spirit has taken us through today and it's a good feeling when it does.
01:26Talk about confidence, how much do you say confidence for Benjamin Shashko after getting that winner?
01:31Because he has not had a lot of games in the last few weeks but that must have been the man that you've been doing at all.
01:36Huge moment, I'm so, so pleased, everyone in the changing room players, staff,
01:42absolutely delightful in the reception he got when he came back in the changing room,
01:47kind of told us everything, even confidence, to be honest, the confidence wasn't so much that,
01:54I think he's been fantastic, we've worked with him a lot in different ways over the last couple of weeks,
01:58he's been bright in training, he's looked dangerous, he's done extra,
02:02the coaches have done a lot of bits on the side and Trav in particular, he's done a lot of work one-on-one with him,
02:08Ben's a big talent, he's got so many positive things and today's a huge goal because that feeling,
02:15as a striker you're here to score a winner in front of the stretch for the end like that,
02:20it's kind of what you dream of really and after missing a chance,
02:26which is what it is for strikers missed chances to go again and put that away,
02:30absolutely so, so pleased for him, he really deserves it.
02:34Michael, since Reuben left there's been a lot of talk externally about the Manchester United DNA
02:40and what that is and whether you can reconnect it and some people laugh at that and say it isn't anything,
02:47but when Manchester United score at Old Trafford in injury time, that feels like Manchester United,
02:55that is Manchester United, how do you see it?
02:58It's the best feeling, I have to say, yeah, some of the best moments here that I've been lucky to be part of,
03:07the game, you can dissect the performance and there's pluses and there's not,
03:11when you get a moment of the elation and the excitement like that,
03:17for me there's no better place in front of the stretch for the end like that,
03:21and it ends up meaning more, I think people leave here with more than just all United won today
03:28and it kind of puts layers on top of that and the connection and the feeling, the emotion,
03:33it's why we all love it so much and especially the supporters,
03:37so it goes a long way, there's been plenty, the excitement, that's part of this club
03:43and it's not always the easiest way but we'd like to win games a little bit more comfortably than that,
03:49but certainly when they come along it's pretty special.
03:53Michael, you're playing a lot of games like that here that end dramatically and ends with a winer,
03:57I'm just wondering what it's like to manage in one,
04:00how do the emotions differ from being on the top of the line to being on the pitch?
04:05It's slightly different, I think when you're in the thick of it as a player,
04:09you're right in the moment and obviously you don't always see the bigger picture,
04:14you're a little bit differently in terms of the attachment of the game,
04:18but I was pretty calm all the way through, disappointed obviously with the second goal
04:23but I was aware there was still eight minutes to go at that point when they scored
04:27and if anything I was thinking there's a long time to go and we still had the plays on the pitch at that point
04:32that I think could really make a difference for us,
04:34so I was still really positive that I thought we'd find a moment and listen,
04:40it's hard to hold your emotions together when the goal goes in and like that,
04:46so I think we all celebrated when that went in, but yeah I did feel we'd have a moment,
04:52we tend to in the type of games, you always have a moment,
04:55it's just whether you can take it and Ben certainly did that from, Bruno's great, worked on the right.
04:59Paul?
05:01Mike, you talked about being calm there, you do seem quite calm throughout the whole game,
05:06is that important to you to project that to the players and do you think they can feed off that as well?
05:12Yeah, listen, there's times to be calm, there's times to be emotional and there's times to be angry,
05:18there's times to be upset, that is part of the game and I think it can't be underestimated
05:24that you've got to bring that emotion at times but certainly that composure and that calmness
05:31for the players to be able to think clearly, it's getting the balance and I think we've got the balance
05:36pretty well over the last three games of playing with that bit of fire and bit of hunger
05:41but knowing, making good decisions as well and I'm not sure we all made good decisions when that goal went in
05:50in terms of how we celebrated but that's what you strive for, you know, that's why we all love the game
05:55for moments like that, so when they do come you're going to make the most of them.
05:59Jamie, and then last one for Cameron.
06:01Michael, everything that you're touching about is turning to gold,
06:04can it continue to the end of the season?
06:06Listen, we've all been in this game a long time, you know,
06:09and you never take anything for granted at all.
06:12We can perform better than what we did today I think,
06:14well that's credit for Fulham being such a good team,
06:17so I'm sitting here thinking it's a good sign, we feel we can get better,
06:22that doesn't mean that all of a sudden we get better and we keep winning games, you know,
06:26I think understanding what got us to this point is important,
06:30and the hard work and the kind of work for each other that the lads are certainly putting in,
06:35I think that's important, but listen I'm not getting carried away.
06:38It's great when you're in a position and you're winning games for sure,
06:40but it doesn't mean you necessarily just win the next one,
06:43so we'll have another good week and prepare for that.
06:46Does the ceiling for this team, how good it could excite you?
06:53No, there's huge talent within the team,
06:55I think we've showed that in a short space of time in different ways,
06:59and big goals and some great play, I think consistency,
07:03or for a game even, in terms of with the ball or without the ball,
07:07and in moments that we'd like to look a little bit better, that's normal,
07:11but that's up to us to try and put that in place, you know,
07:15but the boys are desperate to learn, desperate to keep improving,
07:18you always feel you've got a chance in the game when you've got players on the pitch
07:22that can produce moments, so the more of them the better for me.
07:26Hi Michael, I think Kobi maybe had a brilliant performance there,
07:30just wondered what you thought of his performance,
07:32he's obviously played well in the previous two,
07:34but today I think it was a big step up,
07:36and how important is he going into being a key leader in the club's future?
07:42Yeah, I think Kobi's performance was very, very good today in so many ways,
07:48again, I think you could see the way Fulham played,
07:52and overloaded the middle times and the movements,
07:54and there was a lot of work for Kobi and Cassie to do,
07:57particularly in the middle of the pitch,
07:59so that was without the ball,
08:02and I thought he's done terrific in that,
08:05and then with the ball, I've spoken about it before,
08:08about the ability to just cope, you know,
08:10he's not really phased by it,
08:11he's just, he plays his game and he understands what's needed,
08:14and it's the moments of quality,
08:16it's kind of what we come to expect from him in many ways,
08:21and what I can't expect, but you forget how young he is still,
08:24and you know, he's still got loads to come,
08:28but seeing him today and playing with that kind of confidence and belief
08:32is a real joy to watch, to be honest, for any young player.
08:36One more for Craig.
08:37You've touched on comedy there Michael,
08:39but another play you've brought back in is Harry Maguire as well,
08:41I noticed in the wake of the goal when everyone was celebrating,
08:43Harry actually ran for you guys to be part of that sort of tactical conference,
08:47if you like.
08:48How big has his real reduction been,
08:50and can it be timely in a World Cup year perhaps?
08:53Yeah, I haven't given the World Cup so much thought to be honest,
08:57but yeah, listen, we've got some really good centre-backs at the club,
09:04you know, and obviously a couple of young ones on the bench today
09:06which have got big, big futures hopefully at this club,
09:09so we just felt that at the time we came in,
09:12I thought our experience was important,
09:14and the other two boys, as I say,
09:18will have a lot of games and a lot of performances in their career here,
09:22because they've got really bright futures,
09:24but Harry's came in after playing not a lot of football really,
09:27and came into it and done ever so well.
09:30He is what he is, you know, he's such a big presence,
09:35and being there, seeing there, done it as well,
09:37similarly I think that helps within the group
09:39when we've got some young players who are still learning,
09:41so I think he's had a big influence with that,
09:44and just that composure, as I say,
09:46to understand the moments and not be fazed by it,
09:49and being a big presence there with him and Leitcher particularly at the back
09:52have given us the foundation to build on,
09:55so this and see what the future holds in terms of World Cup,
09:58but when he's like that and the way he's played,
10:01he's certainly one of the best for me.
10:03Thanks a lot.
10:04Alright, cheers guys.
