00:12I'll start with Andy when we're ready.
00:17Hi Michael, what does that mean, a win for you and the celebrations of your players and what is that
00:24like?
00:25They're the moments we live for really, that's why we're in it.
00:30For big games, important games, big performances and then the supporters to feel it.
00:34I think it gives me a lot of satisfaction when I can be part of that and see other people
00:40enjoying it so much.
00:42That's the kind of beauty of football and the pure form of it.
00:46It was an important win for us tonight in different ways,
00:49coming through the suspensions and injuries and Lenny pulling out quite late and having to adapt.
00:54The boys take so much credit for that and the coaches, to be honest,
00:58in terms of putting the plan together and adapting over the last couple of days
01:00and making sure everyone was in a good place.
01:04So there's a lot of things to be proud of tonight.
01:08We can play a little bit better at times but I thought it was a game for a result in
01:12the end
01:12and we managed to find it.
01:15Simon?
01:16When you say it's a game for a result, was there a lot of pressure on this game?
01:20Just because of Monday night, there was a lot of pressure on you on the questions.
01:25How has the build-up been and how did you think that you got your message across
01:30and your players took on what you wanted to do?
01:37First of all, pressure on Monday night, you can lose games of football.
01:43There's something about bouncing back.
01:45The world doesn't end because we lose a game so we were fine.
01:48We learned from things and we spoke about a few things but that's football.
01:53The league is what it is.
01:54I think you see that.
01:55There's results all over the place in different ways.
02:00So we weren't getting too down about that at all.
02:02If anything, we looked at it and thought we're right near the top,
02:06if not top of the last 12 games.
02:08So we took a lot of confidence from that of moving into this game
02:13and we knew what this game was.
02:15We didn't overplay it, if anything.
02:17It wasn't about positions or points or anything.
02:20It was just coming down here to win a game and commit to that.
02:23The boys definitely did that.
02:26Can I just ask, how late did Lennie pull out?
02:30How long did Aidan Evans and Madreau get to work together on that part?
02:35It was a bit difficult night, but they were fantastic.
02:38No, they were fantastic.
02:40It was more meetings and talks really and clips.
02:44A few discussions and on the other side of things,
02:47just telling them to go and play.
02:49We trust them, two fantastic players.
02:52Giving them the confidence to just go and commit to it
02:54and understand you can give your best.
02:57And then obviously a little bit of extra protection,
03:01not that they needed it, but as a team,
03:03things that we needed to stop with a little bit of extra effort.
03:09We tried to do that as well.
03:12It was short notice, it was probably through the day yesterday.
03:16The boys took it on so well.
03:20I love when you see players thrive in their moments when it's challenging.
03:24That's a tough place to come into in a game like that,
03:27and I thought they took it in the stride so well.
03:38I can't take any credit for that, no.
03:42Was there anything you saw that you wanted to speak to them about?
03:47No, it was just a different conversation, to be honest with you.
03:51I'm not even sure I can remember exactly what I said to them,
03:53but I definitely can't take credit for the moment for the goal.
03:58Liam's team, I've played against them before,
03:59they're really difficult.
04:00You've got to stop really certain things.
04:01I know they're having a challenge in time results-wise,
04:03but they've got some really good players
04:05and they can play through the middle of the pitch against you really quickly.
04:08At times, the first half did a couple of little moments
04:10and it just showed the dangers that they had.
04:14It was a big part of the game, our plan was stopping certain things
04:18and we're just trying to emphasise that really.
04:21Trusting the boys to attack,
04:23we always feel that we've got goals and we've got a dangerous forward line
04:26and we can create moments.
04:28I thought we probably could have and should have created a little bit more,
04:31but one was enough tonight.
04:33I'm delighted with Mateus getting in there as well,
04:35in the middle of the goal and getting his goal.
04:37Tyrone?
04:38Hi, Michael. We've spoken a lot about Cobby Bain,
04:40who's come back into the team and his quality on the ball.
04:43It felt a lot like this was a display of his all-round game
04:46and maybe the things he's improved off the ball and out of the session.
04:49Yeah, I thought that was the best Cobby's played,
04:52certainly since I've been back here, I think,
04:54to step up and put so many phases to his game or sides to his game tonight.
05:00I thought he looked so composed, so calm,
05:03had a really good presence about him,
05:04defended well,
05:05not easy when you've got really good players in and around you
05:07and it was a good battle between him and Cole Palmer.
05:11So he had to be right at it tonight,
05:13but he showed so much quality and composure
05:15in a tough environment really in the end
05:18to show us what he can do.
05:20Larry?
05:21Just on Cobby, how was he this week to get to the stage of fitness
05:25and also a little bit on Aidan maybe?
05:27Is he only a nice sense of that?
05:30Cobby didn't train an awful lot really.
05:34He only did a little bit on Thursday
05:37and a little bit more yesterday,
05:39so it wasn't an awful lot.
05:41So, again, credit to him for stepping into that one.
05:46Yeah, I mean, Aidan, credit to him.
05:48Coming in as a young player for one,
05:51not played a lot of football recently,
05:53he played for England a couple of weeks ago,
05:55but to come into that environment
05:58that's not something that you can take for granted.
06:00So, credit to him, that comes from...
06:02We say the same things to young players all the time,
06:04sometimes it's like, yeah, good one or whatever,
06:07but in terms of training every day
06:09and looking after yourself and being ready,
06:11because you never know when that comes.
06:12He probably wouldn't have thought it would come at the moment
06:14with how it's gone, but he was there,
06:17he was prepared and he took it in his stride magnificently well.
06:20Chris?
06:22You mentioned that you had a fantastic stride,
06:26given that you didn't have that many chances tonight,
06:27even more so that he had a similar chance before that,
06:30but he didn't say?
06:32Yeah, it's the position we want him to be in,
06:35you know, and coming off, I think he gives us the time on one side,
06:38but to be in the middle of scoring goals,
06:40he's had some really big moments for us, Matthias,
06:43and it's just finding them spaces and that composure as well.
06:50Like you say, he won that one earlier
06:52where he was probably a little bit frustrated with himself
06:54and it was a good opportunity and a similar one,
06:56so to be there again and the composure to put away
07:00shows what he's all about.
07:02Alright, thanks everyone.
07:03Alright guys, cheers.
