00:00Today I'm in Spain house hunting around the beautiful towns and villages of Valencia I'm
00:07Ben Hillman home designer and property expert for the best part of a decade I've been helping
00:13house hunters find their dream properties whilst giving them a little design inspiration too today
00:18I'm going to be using all my skills to find the perfect property for Anne and Chris and they make
00:23me earn my corn we'll have to keep you working yeah well absolutely it's one here for as I make
00:30some out there suggestions sit the telly outside as well I'm impressed by the greenery at this a
00:39luxury villa oh wow this is my kind of garden Monica this is my favorite place of the least
00:45property yeah but at the end of the day do I find my house hunters their perfect place in the Sun
00:50it's lovely it's all places lovely oh Chris got a big old smile on your face yes I love that
00:59Anne and Chris met 14 years ago but for 40 years Chris has been dreaming of moving to Spain he was
01:09hoping that they could do that and make that big move seven years ago when they retired but better
01:15late than never they are here now and can't wait to find their dream home to happily relocate and where
01:23the rest of the family can visit Chris and Anne live in West Yorkshire and met during a night out on the
01:29town Chris was with one of his friends my friend went to the bar to get a drink 20 minutes later I had
01:38to go find her because she was chatting to these two and we got chatting and we were then eventually
01:44I don't know something we hit something going on here shall we have a date with illness delaying their
01:51plan to move permanently to Spain the couple are now ready to seize the day and have a budget of
01:57250,000 pounds to find their dream home Valencia is just over two hours flight from the UK and we're
02:05going to be house hunting in an area within 45 minutes drive of the airport and the city centre
02:11the Valencia region in the east of Spain has a population of nearly 5 million people and genuinely
02:17offers something for everyone there's a lively and bustling city the third biggest in Spain which
02:22is full of great architecture shops and culture as well as nearly 400 miles of stunning coastline and
02:29loads of beautiful countryside this is where two-thirds of Europe's citrus fruits come from
02:34including Valencia's famous oranges and there are some juicy property deals to be had here at the
02:40moment as well with mortgage interest rates increasing the property market is beginning to
02:45cool and stabilize even drop by 10% in some areas so this should be a great time to get a deal
02:53especially for cash buyers before we get going I'm meeting up with my house hunters on the lovely
02:58Playa de la Malva Rosa to find out a bit more about them and what they're looking for in terms of
03:03property Anna Chris welcome to beautiful Valencia region look at the smile on their face someone's
03:12happy to be here how well do you know Spain me not at all I've been coming here for oh since I was 40
03:22how did you decide on Valencia is that a bit of a location such a beautiful place look at this
03:27beach who would not love to be here yeah yeah and the city itself is a lovely city yeah and you've got
03:34quite a number of children and grandchildren haven't you we do between us we've we've each got two
03:41children a boy and a girl yes 11 of grandchildren down my goodness you must have a very vivid picture of
03:48what it is you would love to find we think we need to at least be close to society in general you know
03:56shops bars restaurants and things but I think said that we do like being in the countryside it doesn't
04:04matter if we're away from the beach somewhat that's not important up to a 30-minute drive from the beach
04:09is fine the idea is to have a swimming pool or space to put a pool yes so we we don't need that
04:16connection to the beach every day okay terrorists where we can sit out and with a glass of wire you
04:21know that sort of thing is really nice but a bit of room to grow some things as I like I like pottering
04:26in the garden you know tending plants yeah and growing some of our own vegetables how many bedrooms
04:32would be a minimum for you an absolute minimum of three right yeah one thing you would like is
04:37maybe an annex that we could renovate to rent out and have as a holiday home or extra accommodation for
04:45the secondary income yeah yeah that's a great idea one thing I do know is that you're both quite handy
04:51aren't you in terms of renovations yes I mean that that's been my thing all my life really I've
04:55been very hands-on with anything thing is I'm in my 70s now so any project would have to be a small
05:03one I think what would be a no-no for you then apartments a wood and townhouses right your budget
05:09it's a healthy budget well 250 yeah to 18 to two he's straight in there with a bit of wiggle and for
05:18me I love that so flexible 30,000 on top of a 250 should we go and see some of these wonderful
05:25houses that would be really good yeah absolutely I can tell come on let's go and see them well Chris
05:32and Ann's maximum budget of 280,000 pounds gives me scope to find some suitable options in this
05:37region but first up I'm taking my couple into the center of Valencia to sample the cultural delights
05:42the city has to offer well look I thought I'd start us off in the heart of Valencia city what do you
05:51think is it hitting the right notes it's brilliant around here isn't it it's beautiful how does this
05:55then compare with what you know Spain that you've seen well it's absolutely beautiful isn't it I mean
06:01yeah how could you compare anything with this you know it's how fantastic to look at so much
06:05wonderful architecture yeah absolutely impressed this is lovely it's just what we were wanting we
06:12travel a lot and we holiday a lot so it's it's not really doesn't feel such a big thing it feels
06:20natural anyway as you can see it's a really busy bustling vibrant place cafes tapas then you've got the
06:27broader avenues as well in Valencia just yeah really grand yeah yeah and stunning teaming with
06:34people I think this place is going to keep you occupied for quite some time but our first property
06:39is 30 minutes right from here I think we should head off don't you should we go and see and check it
06:43out yeah my first property is in the town of Leliana which as well as being 30 minutes drive from the
06:50city takes about the same time on the metro that means it's quite a popular place both with locals
06:56and buyers from outside Spain and prices are on the high side our first property might be over Chris
07:02and Anne's maximum budget but I've been assured it's negotiable okay come in property number one in
07:11a lovely little town called Leliana okay yeah you heard of it no no no I've seen it on the map but
07:18all right so you know we're northwest yeah half an hour what do we make of the property yeah we like
07:25the fact that it's a bungalow that's quite good not a lot of space out here at the moment I don't know if
07:30there's more at the back there is more at the back right yeah there's a lovely seating area and
07:35pizza oven and barbecue there that's what we want to do entertaining space yes isn't it yeah it's four
07:43bed all right all beds yeah two bath yeah brand new kitchen swimming pool out the back lovely but as well
07:52as having that fourth bedroom it's got a separate annex which is completely renovated it's got a
07:59bedroom kitchen and bathroom oh this sounds very interesting this is just over two hundred and eighty
08:04two and a half thousand pounds oh it has been on the market for four months no offers yet and the
08:09agent and owner said they would probably accept something around the top of your budget okay okay yeah
08:15yeah yeah that's good but it's probably gonna have to be perfect for that I imagine you guys I think
08:20we need to be close to being perfect let's see if perfection is behind that door come on this bungalow
08:26has a courtyard at the front with an al fresco cooking and dining area another area to the side and the pool
08:33area at the back which has both sunny and shady seating areas inside there's a light and bright living and
08:39dining room a separate kitchen with an adjoining sunroom the main bedroom with an ensuite shower room
08:45along with three more bedrooms one currently used as an office and another as a utility room plus a
08:53family bathroom there's also the annex which has a kitchenette a shower room and a bedroom right in we
09:01come this is a nice space a little bit claustrophobic because I feel as if it's a bit narrow here but
09:06everything looks neat and tidy I like the tiles the tiles are lovely nice polished doors that's
09:13really good let's go and check out the kitchen and the good news is you can dine in the kitchen and
09:20lovely yes yeah that's perfect it's nice to have two dining areas nice size nice modern units nice work
09:28tops I like the word lovely aren't they fantastic well look something the grandkids will like is the
09:33pool for sure okay let's have a look all right step out mind your step coming down here all right it's
09:42a nice some chop area isn't it yeah that's it and the place that shaded over there which looks to be
09:49interesting the pool is really nice he's props you could have only been a little bit bigger but
09:53you haven't even seen the annex and all the bedrooms this house offers a lot would you like to go and
10:01check it out that looks interesting yeah I'll leave you to it and I catch you when you're done thank you
10:05all right well all in all I would say that this property has been a resounding success a little
10:12bit of titivation but other than that it could be a contender well this is interesting that's nice a double bed
10:20there and yeah it's plenty beginning it's like there's a kitchen there and shower and things at
10:25the bottom by the look of it it's nice and neat isn't it it's everything that you want clean clean
10:31and tidy isn't it this bungalow which is on the market for a negotiable just over two hundred and
10:36eighty two and a half thousand pounds definitely gives Chris and Ann most of what they've asked for
10:41not least loads of space for when their family come and stay I'm interested to hear what they think of
10:46it hello right I am on the edge of my seat yeah see how you got on yes it was an interesting experience
10:55there's lots of things we did like about the property it was very nice and clean and well
10:59decorated and it felt cozy comfortable yeah but you know it's there's not enough outside space for us for
11:06long day I wanted a bit more outside space than that I mean the pool was lovely but as I say we wanted
11:12room to grow vegetables and things like that I spread you yes yes spread out of it yeah all right
11:18so you ruling this one out oh yeah it's not going in my little bag of contenders it's a shame it's a
11:24shame that I can't promise that we're going to be in quite such a sort of fantastic location in terms
11:30of been walking distance to that lovely video do realize they'll be compromised question of making the
11:35right compromise absolutely yeah let's try and find those shall we okay well I'm not kicking off
11:41with a contender but apart from that I'm feeling pretty good there were lots of positives there and
11:46I'm getting a better sense of what property perfection looks like for Chris and Ann before
11:51we head to property number two we're taking a quick diversion to the stunning El Saler Beach which
11:56is one of my favorite stretches of sand in this part of Spain well I think it's high time for a bit of
12:02beach time don't you actually nice beach this is a beautiful beach this is El Saler Beach is this big
12:09enough for your family this beach would you feel the full three miles oh quite a bit of it but yeah
12:14there is space for everyone yeah well if you need to extend further it does go 17 miles in total how
12:20often do you get to the beach with the grandkids these days as often as we can to be honest yeah you
12:26like being on the beach and we live by the sea where we are at the moment so yeah the beach is a thing for
12:31us the next one we're going to see is 25 minutes from this beach okay coming up in order to give
12:41Ann and Chris that all-important space for them and their family I'm hoping they like my next property
12:47which yet again comes with a rather lovely pool today I'm house hunting around the beautiful landscape of
12:59inland Valencia helping Ann and Chris to find their new permanent home here which hasn't happened quite
13:05yet but fear not there's plenty more to come my house hunters who have a budget of 250,000 pounds with
13:12an additional 30,000 wiggle room liked a fair bit about this bungalow with a pool but ruled it out because
13:18there wasn't enough outside space for green-fingered Chris to grow vegetables so I know I need to deliver
13:24somewhere with more of that to get myself a tasty contender and I reckon my next place in an
13:30urbanization just outside the village of Chiva will be a mouthwatering prospect for Chris and Ann
13:35despite an increase in property prices and demand here in the past couple of years it's still quite
13:40an affordable area given how close it is to Valencia so I've managed to find them somewhere with more
13:45room outside for a fair bit below their budget right then let's see if we can up the ante this
13:52looks nice is it it's got to be a little better cab appeal going on yes yes it's a lot more attractive
13:57than the other place really positive stuff impressive oh good yeah we've come southwest of our first
14:05property we are due west of Valencia City yeah about 20 minutes into town it's good still convenient yeah
14:12there's no work to do in here in its three bedrooms two bathrooms obviously over two floors yes this
14:18time it's been on the market for about a month and a half and it's priced at just over two hundred and
14:24thirty nine thousand pounds wow you're dying to get in aren't you absolutely we better do that
14:29this semi-detached house has courtyards front and back a garden with definite veggie growing potential
14:37an alfresco kitchen and a great pool area inside on the ground floor there's a large living and dining
14:44room a separate kitchen a bedroom with a sofa bed and a shower room upstairs there are two more bedrooms
14:51plus a spacious landing area currently used as an office and a family bathroom there's also a guest
14:59annex with a kitchen which is currently used for storage but I think could be great with a little
15:05bit of sprucing up nice entrance way and then well I think a good size quite an impressive living space
15:12isn't it yeah it's really nice it did I love the way the light flowed to be yes space-wise it's it's
15:17probably very similar to the last one but with the double height ceiling there it makes it feel more
15:24spacey and you've a lot more light coming in so that's that's very positive yeah so fast feeling good
15:30about it it's nice to have this fireplace as well a little heart yes to the room yeah central point
15:36should we go see a bit more yes absolutely love to so what we have up here are these lovely vaulted
15:44ceilings oh that's lovely yeah how you feeling about this so far it's good it's good yeah you've got extra
15:50space there you know you could even put a little camp bed in there for that's it for extra flexible I
15:56think that's quite useful that space isn't it yes yes it does whatever you feel like doing to it
16:01yeah should we head out yeah absolutely lovely garden space and a great pool space as well
16:10imagine laying here and putting the subbeds out there it's lovely you know yeah you get ate along
16:16there couldn't you get nice and warm and then dip into the pool cool off again I can see all your
16:22family lounging around this pool but a key thing for you guys I think is you've got this safety gate
16:28here as well so you can lock it nice and safe they're only here when there are eyes on yes and
16:36you're probably wondering what this building is well it's an annex we've got another annex which I didn't
16:41tell you out the front yeah I thought it might be a garage but I couldn't see how you got into it
16:44it's effectively a studio it's got a kitchen in there it doesn't have a bathroom but what you do
16:49have at the back is the storeroom which you could convert over right and put a bit of a shower room
16:55in there perhaps then it's completely self-contained if you do have guests come around the side of the
17:00house use that they've got the pool yeah they're having a good time yeah of course you want to go
17:04and see the rest of it so you go and do that well it was at this point at the last house where I was
17:12feeling rather confident but I'm not going to count my eggs not quite yet but it is a lovely property
17:18oh it's a nice surprise isn't it wow yeah like another little house in itself yeah yeah no it's
17:29brilliant so much possibility here kitchen yes this is nice yeah it's modern it's a bit on the bijou side
17:38but smaller it's plenty big enough practical isn't it yeah this semi-detached house which is on the
17:44market for just over 239 000 pounds offers chris and ann lots of space both inside and out and
17:51it's in a great location close to the city and from what they've said looking around they really seem
17:56to like it had a good snoop around yeah what are your thoughts yeah we like it yeah it's really nice
18:05it's safe for the grandkids as well with the pool being able to be closed off yeah I think this is a
18:12contender oh well that is music to my ears yeah that is fantastic I suppose you know where do we go
18:20from here and what more do you need than this well I don't know if it was detached with a garage and a
18:27bit more space you know where I could do a bit more gardening okay you know yeah so I think if we're
18:32going to move forward from here like you're saying you'd prefer something detached if possible if
18:37possible yeah depends how far we have to go to get it wow that's the question isn't it should we find out
18:44yeah let's do it well I'm delighted to have my first contender in the bag but I still think there's
18:49some work to do to find a property that gives chris and ann everything that they're looking for now
18:54as their plans to move out here permanently before we visit our next place I thought they'd benefit from
18:59having a chat with someone who's done just that Bernie great to see you lovely to see I want to introduce
19:08you to Ann and Chris hello hi Bernie nice to meet you yes lovely to be here they're both hoping to do
19:15exactly what you did is it eight years ago now this is this is our eighth year yeah and no looking back
19:21no looking back we've not had one day's regret it was it was difficult at first getting all the
19:27paperwork and getting everything sorted out but there were so many groups that can help you get help with
19:32the paperwork oh gosh yes yeah yeah we joined a few Facebook groups that they've got over here and
19:39they're everywhere yeah with lots of did you have the language by then no no no none at all none at all
19:45and how has that changed over it it has we we're still learning yeah but we get by we we've got the
19:52basics it's been wonderful chatting with you I'm gonna take these guys to their next property which is 20
19:58minutes okay this very mountain which way you headed well I'm heading up this well we'll join you
20:04because that's the way we need to go let's go coming up will this detached bungalow sitting in the
20:15middle of this beautiful wraparound garden be everything that Anna Chris are looking for
20:20today I'm helping Anna Chris to find the perfect home to relocate in and around the beautiful
20:31countryside of inland Valencia and with our first contender in the can and their interest
20:37piqued surely now a detached property is the order of the day my house hunters who have a maximum budget
20:43of 280 000 pounds liked lots of things about this house with a pool and a potential guest annex
20:50but the fact that it was semi-detached meant it didn't quite get top marks so I know I need to
20:56show them a property that stands alone for it to stand out and I'm going to do that with property
21:02number three in an urbanization close to the town of Calicanto which is currently very popular with
21:08buyers from Spain France and the UK prices here have increased by five to ten percent in the past year
21:14but even so I've managed to find Anna Chris that all-important detached property for a fair bit below
21:20budget now then this is all about the detached property the outdoor space the garden I'll give
21:28you a second to say about one more oh isn't that every man's dream yes another lawnmower yeah this is
21:38lovely nice swimming pool here obviously it's sort of winterized at the moment it needs to be refreshed
21:43for the summer I appreciate but it's fully functioning beautiful pool yeah so what you've
21:48got is three beds it's one bath this time the house itself is slightly smaller but well laid out yeah
21:54you've got a summer room over there which is currently used as a gym turn it into what you want
22:00obviously the house itself which has been on the market for a couple of months is priced at just over
22:06two hundred and forty one and a half thousand pounds so it's a small price then yeah let's take a look
22:12around shall we yes please this detached villa has oodles of outside space including a lawn for Chris to
22:18Moe a great pool area and a huge courtyard with a ping-pong table inside all on one level there's a living
22:25and dining room a separate kitchen the main bedroom a second bedroom a third bedroom currently used as an office
22:33and a shower room plus there's plenty of annex potential with one out building currently used
22:38as a gym a storeroom with a toilet and an outdoor cooking area come utility space what a lovely front
22:46terrace hey and then straight into your living space the fact that it's square and not a corridor yeah
22:52that makes a lot of difference yeah decent size nice fire in the corner yes it's a little bit
22:58be sure but I think we can get over that fabulous right should we move on should we go and check out
23:02the bedroom yes please follow you now this would be your main bedroom I know it's a little snug compared
23:12to the others we've seen yeah so yeah it's it's doable shall we head off and go look at the kitchen
23:29yes we can do yeah I'll follow you how about this yeah there's not a lot of worktop space you know
23:39it's all about the prep spaces yes yeah yeah it's a little bit Bobby I do all right what do we need more
23:46than that yeah Chris can stand there yeah I'm doing the cooking I should call him Sue then shouldn't I yes
23:51it's all nice and clean isn't it you know it's it's nice and bright so that's something there's not an awful
24:00lot to do well do you want to head off and have a look around and I'll see in a bit all right it's a
24:04good idea go do your thing well a very positive reaction to this place Chris keeps saying bijou but
24:12hey that means French for jewel is that a sign let's wait and see yeah this is a good space isn't it oh this
24:21is nice it's a gym we wouldn't use it as a gym but no it's got possibilities to be used in other ways
24:28we put it into like an extra living accommodation really couldn't we you know a day room or a studio
24:34accommodation Chris and Anne wanted somewhere detached and I've given them that along with loads
24:40of outside space at this house which is on the market for just over two hundred and forty one and a
24:44half thousand pounds and as well as bijou they've been saying all the right things about it had a look
24:50around yes did you like the garden yes we love the garden all the outside space the the outside
24:57kitchen the the outside space is fabulous yeah that's the highlight is it for you guys here yes
25:03you couldn't you couldn't beat it really is it's just it's got so much going for it insides a little
25:08bit of a different story it's quite small in there yeah 90% of the time we're gonna be outdoors and not
25:13indoors so we can't rule it out okay just slightly bigger house well leave it with me we'll have to keep
25:19you working yeah well absolutely it's what I'm here for so I've got myself another semi contender
25:27with that detached villa but I still don't feel I've quite delivered the goods for Chris and Anne time
25:32for a break for me to work out where to go next Valenta is known for some stunning countryside so I
25:37thought we'd head to the beautiful Alba Farah Natural Park to take some of it in in style well how
25:43about this for a day trip hey this is a treat yeah we're in the natural parkland just south of
25:50Valencia itself but you've got this a huge lake some 7,000 acres and then you can come on these
25:56boat trips and they cost 45 pounds 45 minutes but you can bring five people wow that's really cheap
26:03that's quite good value for money that intake with five people we get to experience the peace and
26:07quiet so you've got 7,000 acres of freshwater lake here so it's the largest freshwater lake in Spain and
26:14you can explore them a bit more than we're going to but um I just wanted you to come and see this
26:18because it's so fantastic this is lovely yeah you know this is life as it should be and hopefully we're
26:25edging ever so closer to finding you that dream home I know we've got a couple of contenders but
26:30let's see if we can enter them children refreshed we've come to my next option in Montserrat a village
26:40around 40 minutes drive from the center of Valencia and a similar distance from the nearest beach it's
26:45a fairly rural and peaceful part of the world and even though it's the most affordable area we've visited
26:51so far to get Anne and Chris somewhere detached with loads of space inside and out I've had to dip a
26:56little bit into their wiggle room well this is it our next property and it is quite a house this is a
27:06five-bed three bathroom house pretty modern inside sounded exciting okay you've got I'll call it a
27:13garden room but it's got a summer kitchen in there around the side you could turn it into an accommodation
27:18as well this is priced at just over 256 and a half thousand yeah is this doing it for you so far is it
27:25really yeah yeah yeah got a bit of green space it well and he's greening up a little bit actually yeah
27:30but we know that's achievable he's watering but fine but I'm gonna let you delve into this house on
27:35your own you can even delve into the swim pool if you fancy I've just spotted the lemon tree as well
27:40it's the house that has it all yeah well at least I hope it is you have a look around you can tell me
27:46when you're done okay I'll see you in a moment well thanks a lot then look we have two kind of
27:55contenders at the moment nothing that's had them singing and dancing yet and I'm kind of feeling it I
28:01think this could be the one this detached house has a wrap around garden with a pool and covered terrace next to
28:09it as well as another covered terrace at the front and a balcony of the main bedroom inside there's a
28:16spacious living and dining room a separate kitchen diner with an adjoining storage room
28:21along with two more bedrooms and a shower room downstairs upstairs there's the main bedroom which has an en suite shower
28:30room along with two more bedrooms making five in total and another bathroom there's also an out
28:38building with a kitchen area and another room used for storage which could easily be converted into a
28:43guest annex oh yeah this is nice this is someplace isn't it yeah lovely sized room nice and square again
28:52yeah it's a big space as well isn't it yes you know you've got a lounge area and a dining area yeah
28:57yeah no this is impressive yeah yeah this is nice this is lovely modern kitchen yeah it is modern units
29:09aren't they yeah it's lovely yeah yeah on suite in there so this must be the main bedroom this is nice it's all
29:20got your own little bedroom suite haven't you built-in wardrobes that's nice double wardrobes yeah
29:26this is a nice area yeah yeah we've got the balcony up there for the upstairs shaded area it's a lovely
29:38pool look at it I think this detached house which is on the market for just over 256 and a half thousand
29:45pounds offers Anne and Chris everything they've asked for and now that they've had a good look
29:49around I hope they feel the same I'll say what I could stand here all day long in this sunshine
29:55wonderful yes what a lovely spot well it's a nice big space the rooms are a lot bigger than the other
30:01properties you've shown us are you what are you saying to me then about I think Anne's more on board
30:06than I am and why is that well I think there's a lot of work needs doing to it I think that's one
30:12of the things you know it's it's going to need quite a bit spending on it to make it right I mean
30:15the the walls all look as if they've got wood chip on wood chips a big no-no in the UK these days so
30:21they don't have to be replasted yeah yeah that's all that's needed really we'll have to see okay
30:27where does this sit in the pecking order of things right here right now well like we're not ruling
30:32the last two out and we're not ruling this one out here we've got three in the mix yes yes yes yeah
30:36I'd like to be nearer somewhere with a bit more going on a bit of vibes and you know
30:42come on coming up I hope to finally deliver perfection with this villa with the space garden and
30:50pool Chris and Anna looking for yeah this is nice yeah it's just lovely side today I'm house hunting
31:03around the picture-perfect villages of inland Valencia helping Anna Chris to find their perfect
31:10dream relocation home here for them and hopefully the whole family and while my house hunters who
31:17have a budget of 250,000 pounds plus another 30,000 wiggle room haven't ruled out any of the last three
31:23places I've shown them none of that trio were completely spot on so I'm hoping to hit the
31:29bullseye with my fifth and final place this house with a lovely garden but first I'm popping over to the
31:38town of Santa Barbara to check out this luxurious property a stunning and very spacious seven-bedroom
31:44eight-bathroom villa with superb outside space priced at a whopping just over 4.3 million pounds
31:52I'm meeting the agent for a tour Monica great to see you nice to meet you when look at this a property
31:59absolutely fantastic I can't wait to look around so come with me okay it actually has quite a few
32:07classical features isn't it including the baby grand piano quite a statement as you walk in it's
32:13beautiful I love it and there's lots of classical details as well look at these moldings yeah really
32:20special so how old is this home it's like a from 2007 so it's not old at all is it not you know but
32:28it's got a lot of traditional features yes and then you've got the very contemporary fireplace which
32:33balances it out yeah it's a special one because you can enjoy this fireplace from the both side of the
32:39wall from the living room and from the really yes that's very smart yes come with me I show you I'd love

32:53do love that fireplace yeah I can imagine you know with that fire roaring cooking in here the families
33:02here you know there's there's many parts of this house that are the hub of the home but of course this
33:08is the real hub it seemingly has everything this house but does it have a swimming pool Monica it's
33:14can be missing you are in Spain then of course it has a pool man oh I'd love to see it yeah oh wow this
33:22is my kind of garden Monica yeah this is my favorite place of the this property yeah definitely doing it
33:28for me it's a beautiful shape and then you've got this other building here yeah which is what hmm there
33:34is an outside kitchen okay it's a chill out area and the dining area so that's where I'm going to spend
33:40most of my time in the summer right either there or again this amazing sort of covered living space
33:47outside oh Monica thank you for showing me around it's been a real pleasure well I could definitely
33:53have a good long chill out there come to think of it I could probably spend the winter there too but
33:59there's no rest for me right now because I need to find my house hunters their dream home which I'm
34:05hoping could be my fifth and final property back in Leliana where we viewed our first place it's very
34:11convenient location close to the city means it's one of the more expensive areas we visited and I've
34:16had to use up a fair bit of Chris and Ant Wiggle room however I've just had some very interesting news
34:22about the price right back in Leliana where we started it's an attractive looking property that's a good
34:29start is it really yeah yeah we are here for good reason it's to give you that detached property to
34:35give you that garden and also is in a really convenient spot yes yes we saw the supermarkets as we came up
34:42that's really good yeah super bars restaurants galore everything is here yeah that's wonderful it is a
34:48three-bedroom two-bath and separate toilet property priced at just over two hundred and sixty nine and a
34:55half still doable still doable but let me just pose this to you it's just had an offer which they're
35:04thinking about right that's around the two hundred and fifty two thousand okay so you've only really got
35:10the better that yeah yes yeah yeah that's a great heads up I don't want to get into a biddy wall no
35:17exactly yeah so should we do it yes this villa has lots of outside space with a covered terrace a good
35:26sized garden for Chris a lovely pool and an al fresco dining area with its own bar the inside most of
35:34which has recently been renovated and is all on one level has a living and dining room a kitchen which
35:40is probably in need of a little modernization a storage and utility room the main bedroom with
35:47ensuite shower room as well as two more bedrooms one currently used as an office and a family bathroom
35:55into the living room where you can this is the main living area this is the main living space yeah we
36:05could just reconfigure in here just ditch the dining table and make nice cozy yeah seating area yeah to
36:14watch TV lounge yeah we plenty of dining outside we don't need to sit the telly outside as well
36:20where there does need to be a bit of work is the kitchen okay yeah so should we see how much work
36:30there is to do yes please then we can I think the work is obvious yes yeah decent size it's it's big
36:45enough for for what we need yeah stated as it is it's in really good shape but the house itself was
36:52built in the 50s this is the only thing that really needs doing yeah is it something you would consider
36:57taking on I don't think we consider it now yeah yeah yeah it is it's something we can do ourselves
37:03yeah we wouldn't have to get anybody in so we can do the cupboards and the tiling it's not facing you
37:08no oh absolutely not that's lovely should we head to the pool yes please we can go this way actually
37:14okay five properties five pools could this be the best I don't know you tell me yeah this is nice yeah
37:23it's just lovely size it's a lovely size it's a lovely shape it feels very exotic to me anyway
37:31yeah yeah it's a nice safe walk down into the pool you know it's it you're not just dropping deep into
37:36deep water lovely to sit on those steps cool off yeah I like this area it has a nice feel about it
37:43yeah yeah I'll set you free shall I yes yeah go check out the bedroom in the bar don't worry
37:48they're not in the same room oh lovely um look five fantastic properties three contenders already
37:58I can't help thinking this is going to be a fourth my goodness I do like spoiling people oh this is
38:06nice it's quite a big area really isn't it you quite a lot of outside space here it's private
38:12because next door neighbors can't see yeah fabulous isn't it bar at the back it's like a little hacienda
38:18isn't it that lovely yeah okay yeah I'm sweet at the back so this must be the main bedroom
38:27yeah it's a lovely room yeah yeah very nice yeah all through this house on I've tried to deliver
38:34property perfection for Chris and Ann and despite it not having an annex I think I may have just done
38:39it with this villa which is on the market for an extremely negotiable just over two hundred and sixty
38:44nine and a half thousand pounds now they've had a chance to look at the rest of it I'm hoping they
38:49agree with me all right then did you find the bar yes yes yes enjoy it it's lovely isn't it all
38:56places lovely oh Chris got a big old smile on your face yeah I love that yeah it's exciting yeah you're feeling
39:03the same yes yeah the location's very good you know it's close to us lots of big stores shops you
39:10know so it's is that what's winning you over here it's certainly a big draw for us you know because
39:15as we've explained before we're not getting any younger you know we've got to think about our future
39:19well we won't be able to get out and about as easy so what does this mean for anything that we've
39:24seen so far and the three contenders I've already stuck in my bag what are we doing with them I'm sorry
39:29but you can forget the others the whole lot are going yeah this is the only one we're interested in now
39:34well that is a news flash if ever I heard one yeah oh I'm loving this shall we meet up in the morning and
39:40uh well we understand there's other offers on the plate at the moment well there is another offer on the table yeah
39:46and we could lose it so we may want to act a bit quicker than that well that's fine it's this is this
39:53is you know this is your purchase if that's the way you want to do things let's strike while the
39:58iron's hot shall we do want to take an hour or so just to discover the name a little bit of time just
40:03to that's it think it through properly we'll reconvene yeah and then oh my goodness come on

41:01there has been a second viewing arranged on it and someone's going along there this afternoon
41:06with an architect as well so come on let's cut to the chase shall we are you thinking you want to
41:12move forward with it i'd like to put an offer okay yeah you're confident doing this if you feels like
41:17the right thing does it well when you know you found the right property then it's not a problem
41:22yeah as you know the property is priced at just over 269 and a half thousand pounds because there
41:29is other offers on the table and we're frightened of losing the property we've got our top budget
41:35straight away we're not going to go in lower so this is our one and only offer that we can make
41:40okay right okay that is 261 000 pounds 261 000 so a big leap up from the current offer yeah which is
41:51being considered are you ready for me to give hame a call and put that offer in
41:57i mean you guys are love struck about this place yeah it doesn't mean to say it's not nerve-wracking
42:04of course not all right i'll make the call hola hi me it's ben well i'm very good actually i'm happy
42:12to say that i'm sat in a beautiful park with chris and anne and uh they would like to make an offer
42:19on the property yes they have uh fallen for somewhat knowing that there is an offer on the table at the
42:25moment they don't want to mess around they're going in at their very top budget they can afford to put down
42:31on it and the offer that they would like to make uh primer is 261 000 pounds that's great all right
42:39we look forward to hearing thank you bye no indication one way they have at the moment but
42:46he's going to put that straight to the vendor i don't think it's going to be long before they're

43:17it's not well we'll just move on there's always something around the corner you've been very pragmatic
