Transcript
00:00It has been an amazing day, hasn't it you all? Absolutely. The information that has
00:13been shared with us will forever change your life. I promise you. The time will come you'll
00:18be home and you'll be like, yes, I have to take care of my womb. I have to take care
00:22of myself, my mind, my body, my spirit. Totally. I got to hydrate, right? My body. So we have
00:29one last session and ooh, it's juicy. You can already tell. Yes, yes. Coming to the stage
00:36now to close out the day with a relaxing and restful meditation session, please welcome
00:43author and yoga and meditation teacher Octavia Rahim with restorative, yes, yoga facilitator
00:52and coach Sean Moore.
00:59Hi, you all. How are you? Good. How are you? I'm really good. So I'm going to take my shoes
01:28off. You don't have to take your shoes off. But what me taking my shoes off is indicative
01:36of is this invitation for you to get really comfortable, right? So do one thing that supports
01:48you in being just 1% more comfortable. I love it. So what are we doing right now? We're doing
02:08one thing to get 1% more comfortable. 1% more at ease. So the essence of what Sean and I are
02:20here to share with you is the power of rest to awaken us to our deepest potential to receive
02:30and give abundant love. Right? Abundance has to have space to come into. Abundance has to have room
02:41to come into. And so if what we want access to is abundant love, we need room for that. And when our
02:51schedules are packed back to back to back and there's no room in our schedule for ourselves, do we
02:59have room to receive the abundant love that we might be dreaming of, praying for? Sometimes we're praying
03:06for stuff, but we're not making the room to receive the stuff. So the essence of what we teach is that
03:12rest is a practice of making room, of making space, of allowing, of expanding your capacity to receive.
03:24Are you with me? Okay. So a question that I like to often start with, and you can just sit with this
03:34question for about five seconds. The question I like to start with is what part of you is most in need
03:41of rest today, in this moment, right now. So I'll ask it again, what part of you?
03:54It might be your body. You might be physically exhausted. You might need some sleep right now.
03:59Anybody need some sleep right now? Because that's an aspect of rest. It might be your mind. Anybody feel
04:06like your mind's just a thousand miles per minute and you can't seem to get a sense of ease or respite
04:13from your own mind? Anybody have that experience? Okay. It might be your heart. It might be your
04:18emotions. It might be your shoulders. But what part of you is most in need of rest today? I hope and we pray
04:27that that part has an opportunity to rest and to receive. Okay. If you are comfortable doing so in
04:39this space, close your eyes. If closing your eyes is not part of your practice, keep your eyes open,
04:46but soften your gaze. And what I mean when I say soften your gaze is just let your eyelids get heavy
04:52and don't try so hard to look at any particular thing. And then take a full breath in through your nose.
05:03Please exhale out with an audible sigh.
05:08We'll do that two more times together. Take a deep breath in through your nose.
05:15Exhale everything out with an audible sigh.
05:18Okay. So next time inhale and inhale and inhale. Feel like you can drink in your breath because you
05:26can't. Hold that inhalation at the top. Feel into the fullness of your breath. Also feel into the power
05:34of this pause. And then exhale and exhale and release. That release is a way to make room to receive.
05:44You can keep your eyes closed. I want to read something to you from one of my books.
05:52So you might hear me ruffling with some papers. All you have to do is listen, right? This is,
05:59I, when I read to you, I like, I want you to think of it as like restorative listening, meaning
06:04you don't have to prepare a response. You just get to receive the message and let what resonates
06:09move you. If something doesn't resonate, just let it flow off your shoulders or back.
06:15So keep your eyes open. I want to tell you a little story. Read something to you that I hope resonates
06:21with you. I know how to run. I know how to move. I know how to hustle. I know how to go hard. You know
06:31how to go hard. I know how to work. I know how to grind. I know how to find a way or make one. I know
06:40how to find a way or make one. I know how to tear the club up. I know how to eff it up. I know how to
06:46shut it down. I know how to shout. I know how to cuss a mug out. I know how to fight. I know how to hold
06:54on. I know how to wade in troubled water. I know all of these things because I've had to know all
07:01of these things to survive. I want to survive, and I want to do so much more than survive.
07:10I'm still going to read to you. You might know how to survive, but you deserve to do so much more
07:17than survive. I want to thrive. I want to grow. I want to expand. I want to love. I want to lay down
07:26things and folk that burden my heart. I want abundance in love, time, energy, resources, space,
07:34joy. I want to acknowledge the woman in me that shrugs and smugly asks, but who are you to want
07:41more than your mom and them had? I want to see her and understand that she is no longer me.
07:49It is so important to acknowledge what we've done when in survival mode, to see the person within us
07:57who knew how to make it through the unspeakable, even when that unspeakable meant closing your heart
08:04to yourself. And for the sake of our full selves, we must also realize when we've reached a clearing,
08:13when we can expand even just a little. It's important to notice when we no longer need to
08:22crouch down or stay contracted. It's important to rise. It takes courage to shift, to shift an exhausted,
08:31tired, and fatigued pattern that we've been rocking for so long. Abundant love. Abundant love.
08:40The capacity and space to fully thrive from a place of self-love is calling me. Abundant love.
08:49Abundant love. The capacity and space to fully thrive from a place of self-love is calling you.
08:57That's why you're here right now. Abundant love. Abundant love. Abundant love. The space
09:02and capacity to fully thrive from a place of self-love is calling all of us. That is why we are
09:10still here today. I don't know about you, but I want to answer that call with an open, tender,
09:17and strong heart, not just strong. You want to open, you want to answer that call with an open, tender,
09:25and strong heart. We want to answer that call for abundant love with an open, tender, and strong
09:33heart. Not a tightly closed one that doesn't allow anything to leave or enter. I don't want to run
09:43from my heart anymore. I want to listen and live from my heart. I know that to truly listen,
09:52I must begin to be quiet. I must be still in order to know this truth. There is a great love song
10:01waiting to be heard within you. The notes are healing. The notes are soothing. They sound like a melody
10:10from heaven sent straight to your heart. In order to hear this love song. In order to receive this love
10:19song that is yours and only yours, you have to be able to be still and to listen. To be still and to
10:30listen. To be still and to listen. You have to be quiet to hear the love song that is your life's song
10:40to sing. Take a deep breath in. Exhale everything out with an audible sigh. Do that one more time. Take a deep
10:52breath in. Exhale everything out. Now do one thing to get one percent more comfortable. Just one percent.
11:04That might be shifting your cross leg. It might be rolling your shoulders. Just get one percent more
11:12comfortable. So you can invite in one percent more ease because you deserve that, right? You deserve to feel
11:19at ease. And then just start to notice your physical body. How does it feel to be in this room, in this space,
11:28in this exquisite, intentional, I'm going to call it a circle, even though we're not sitting in a circle,
11:34that was created just for you, just for us, just for our healing? How does it feel to breathe in this
11:42room? I don't know about you. It feels different to breathe in here than it feels to breathe out in
11:47this world, right? So notice your body in this room. Notice your mind in this room. And then once
11:56you've noticed your physical body, you've noticed your physical body, and what I mean by that is pay
11:59attention to your body. Sometimes we're paying attention to our phones and all of these other
12:04things so much more than our own bodies, right? So just notice your body. Then bring your awareness
12:10to your heart, and you might just place a hand on your heart. And as you place your hand at your heart,
12:17we begin to listen to the love song that is your life song to sing, that is yours to receive, that is
12:28yours to dance to, that is yours to catch a vibe to. And with your hand at your heart, you might just
12:38silently say to yourself, I love you. You are worthy of love. I love you. You are worthy of rest.
12:50I love you. You are enough. I love you. I love you. I love you.
13:08So you'll just start to hear Sean share the, this is an ocean drum.
13:25It recreates the sound of the ocean waves, that pulsation, that rising and falling that is so much like
13:34your breath. So as you listen to the ocean drum, that will also shift at some point to the singing
13:41bowls. But here's your mantra, meaning here's what you repeat to yourself. As you settle here,
13:49as you rest here, you just keep saying to yourself, I love you. I'm here for you.
14:00If your hand is still at your heart, you can start to shift it down.
14:30And you can bring awareness to your forehead. And just with the tension at your forehead,
14:37just silently say, I love you. Then you bring attention to your throat. Silently say,
14:45you are love. You bring awareness back to your heart. You might say, you are deeply loved.
14:55Bring awareness. Bring awareness to your belly and just say, love is your superpower.
15:04Bring awareness to your hips.
15:08And say, these hips deserve deep love.
15:15You might move awareness down through your legs.
15:17The ground you stand on is love.
15:27So you'll continue to breathe. You'll continue to feel into this vibration of love. And we'll bring the bowls in
15:36to resonate that sound. All you have to do is sit, be still and listen and feel.
15:44Alózzy, be still minutes to listen.
15:55Have you ever seen your pillow before this person and bye-bye?
15:57Will you manage to breathe.
15:58You probably have gotten this body like heart.
15:59How can you feel than your body like heart?
16:01Have a wonderful day by them?
16:02If you stayed with me, happy to be honest, you are up to stay with your Kimberly.
16:03And save your head before your foot.
16:04How can you feel good?
16:06How can you feel?
16:07Good?
16:08What can you feel good?
16:09равs
16:09and desire from your感 and what you do?
23:40It's such an honor to pause, rest, and be with you and to share this vibration of love
23:48with each of you.
23:49Thank you so much.
24:03Can I tell them how to find us?
24:05Okay, so I'm a little bit more, okay.
24:15Okay, so I'm a little bit more, okay.
24:15Okay, so I'm Octavia at Octavia Rahim on Instagram, on the internet, on the internet, on all these internet streets, the cyber streets.
