00:00So you have the challenge of trying to maintain the integrity of your story when it goes,
00:05passes through the lens of other interests, money, distribution, audiences, how much is it going to get back?
00:13Then makes it specific to black directors is that, you know, in many cases, most of the people,
00:21if we're not doing it independently, you know, most of the people greenlighting it are not us.
00:26You know, so now along with the pitching and, you know, all the sort of elements that you get to have everybody bind to the vision and see it,
00:38there's also an element of education that we have to provide in our pitch, you know.
00:45And so I think that I used to find that exhausting in my career early on
00:53and having to, like, have other people kind of understand certain elements about a culture.
01:00But I don't know, I just embrace it now and really just see it more as an opportunity.
