00:00Jeff Stoutland steps down as the offensive line coach in Philadelphia.
00:05What did you make of this story?
00:07I thought it was very interesting, the timing of it.
00:09If you would have said at the end of the season, you know what, I'm done.
00:12I'm going to retire.
00:12I want to go elsewhere.
00:13That makes some sense.
00:14But let's do in typical Eagles fashion where they go to a Super Bowl
00:17and lose everybody with a chance to get nobody.
00:20Let's have your offensive line coach, which is a very important cog in any offense,
00:25let alone the Philadelphia Eagles and Stoutland, has been good for 13 years.
00:28Let's wait until everybody is hired and then say, you know what,
00:31I don't really know if I like this organization anymore at this point.
00:34I think it's poor timing on Jeff Stoutland here.
00:36Now, there's a clear fracture of what happened.
00:38Also, I will say this.
00:40The Philadelphia Eagles fans are always hot and cold.
00:42I'm an Eagles fan here.
00:44But the fact of the matter is we scream at the television every single game.
00:49This offensive line stinks.
00:51This running game stinks.
00:53Who manages it?
00:54Oh, it's Jeff Stoutland.
00:55Oh, no, he's not going to be the coach next year.
00:57What's going to happen now?
00:58What, are you kidding me?
00:59You either want change or you don't want change.
01:01Did you like the results last year?
01:03No.
01:04So if the guy is moving on and you're getting a new run game coordinator and a new OC,
01:08shouldn't you be happy about that if you're an Eagles fan?
01:10No?
01:11Yeah, well, let me ask Donnie.
01:13Is that a Sirianni?
01:14Because we asked Cap, is that a Sirianni decision or is it a Howie decision?
01:18He said, Cap said Howie loves Stoutland, so it had to be either Mannion or Sirianni, right?
01:25No, it's an organizational decision.
01:27There's no way that Stoutland was like, well, I'm happy.
01:30I don't want to be here.
01:31And I was like, good, peace, goodbye.
01:32Like, there's a clear disconnect there, but make no mistake about it.
01:35They're not backing Sirianni over Stoutland or Stoutland over Sirianni.
01:38They're seeing the opportunities evolve.
01:40If I'm going to hire a young kid and I want him to run his offense here,
01:44and if things don't say it perfectly match up with Stoutland, you're not running the kid's offense then.
01:48So it makes sense to say, hey, look, sink or swim.
01:51Doesn't work, Nick.
01:52You're going to be fired at the end of the year, but this was not Nick Sirianni going to management.
01:55I need Jeff Stoutland out of here at this point.
01:57This was a head coach as well as a general manager and an owner on the same page that figured we'll weigh the risks and the rewards,
02:05and if it doesn't work out, yes, it's going to be on the head coach.
02:08But stop the madness that it was one guy saying you got to go at this point.
02:11They love Stoutland, did a great job, but there was a fracture there where he wasn't happy with,
02:15and change is going to have to happen.
02:16Yeah, I guess my – I think Stoutland stepped away more so than was let go personally, Donnie.
02:24Oh, yeah, no doubt about it.
02:25No doubt about it.
02:26And I think that that was a cost of Sirianni's main goal this season above everything else,
02:35saving his buddy Kevin Petullo.
02:38And it cost him the relationship with Stoutland.
02:41It cost him anything that resembled a competent offense this season,
02:44and it flatly was enough to fire Sirianni this offseason.
02:49They opted to not do that, but you are still seeing the ramifications of Nick Sirianni putting Kevin Petullo,
02:57his best friend, above everything else in this organization.
03:01You just are, Donnie.
03:03No, and look, you can't disagree with the results last year that everybody would have Petullo thrown out the door
03:08when he was finally thrown out the door.
03:09Donnie, they wanted to have gone three weeks into the season, and they did Petullo.
03:15Yes.
03:16Oh, yeah.
03:16And they did nothing.
03:18Nothing.
03:19Like –
03:20But honestly, it wasn't – like we saw this before.
03:23Like, hey, Brian Johnson can't call the play.
03:25They were a wreck when that happened.
03:26So, Petullo was going in week number three.
03:28Who's going to be your offensive coordinator, and how is it going to work at that point?
03:31Like, you didn't have anybody in the building that was going to take play-calling responsibilities,
03:34or if not, it was Sirianni.
03:36But the one thing that was so dismal was you had the best offensive line and the best running back
03:40that didn't work here.
03:41Oh, yeah.
03:41Who's the online coach?
03:42Statlin.
03:43Who drew up the running games?
03:44Statlin.
03:45It was horrendous.
03:46So, for me, I like Statlin.
03:47Thank him for all his time.
03:49It's clear that his time is done with the Philadelphia Eagles.
03:51It wasn't working anymore.
03:53You got to break it off.
03:56You got to break it off.
