00:00A PAS leader has dismissed claims that PAS is a hardline party, citing its non-Muslim
00:06wing and history of fielding non-Muslim candidates as evidence.
00:10Iskandar Abdul Samad, the party's treasurer, said PAS regularly engages with non-Muslim
00:15communities, including through interfaith dialogues and meetings with Christian leaders.
00:20He was responding to remarks by Marzuki Muhammad, a former ATA Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin,
00:25Pusik Gerakan and the Malaysian Indian People's Party viewed Muhyiddin's continued role in
00:31Prikata Nacional as balancing PAS's hardline image.
00:35Iskandar said these labels were political ploys meant to discourage non-Muslims from supporting
00:39PAS and PN.
00:41He added there was no need for concern if PAS and PN formed the next government, urging voters
00:45to judge the coalition based on its administration in Kelantan, Kedah, Terengganu, and Perlis,
00:51including the appointment of Gerakan Assemblyman Wong Chezhen as an executive counsellor in
00:56Kedah.
00:57Meanwhile, PAS Central Committee member Dr. Halima Ali said the hardline label was rooted
01:02in misunderstanding and fear, adding that PAS was committed to championing issues related
01:07to education, the economy, welfare, and justice.
