00:08Dr Halima Ali, a Central Committee member, said PAS must understand the sensitivities of the electorate it hopes to win over,
00:17and stressed that the party has never hated on non-Muslims.
00:21She was responding to a call by Kay Dipakaran, Selangor chief of PAS's Non-Muslim Supporters Wing,
00:28who urged members to avoid using terms like kafir and pendatang as they might offend non-Muslims.
00:36Halima said his remarks were a reminder for members to be careful with their words,
00:41to avoid any perception of insulting other communities.
00:46She added that PAS is a good listener and would consider feedback raised by delegates.
00:52Another Central Committee member, Awang Hashim, said,
00:55the term kafir did not have a negative connotation if used in a proper setting,
01:01especially when it came to discussing Islamic matters.
01:05However, the Pendang MP agreed that the term could offend certain communities,
01:10and it would be better to use the term non-Muslims instead.
