00:00We've heard in the last 24 hours the chief of Hezbollah, Naeem Qassem, saying that any attack by the United States on Iran would be an attack on Hezbollah.
00:09He said, we are not neutral.
00:11What do you think the consequences could be for Lebanon in the event that things escalate between the United States and Iran?
00:18Well, I think the consequences for the region would be significant.
00:24Now, whether good or bad, that's, of course, to be seen.
00:29But I think this is a geopolitical matter that certainly would have impact, impact on oil prices, you know, among other matters.
00:38And, of course, it would depend such a conflict how long and how deep and the like.
00:42But on Lebanon, and I think what you quoted Naeem Qassem saying, he said that before.
00:49And but I believe Hezbollah has been greatly weakened since the last war.
00:55And they will, you know, they have been using this rhetoric, if you will, for some time.
01:03But in the end, I believe, you know, there's a government, there's a new government in place.
01:09There's a president, both of whom are very determined that, first of all, the government decides matters of war and peace, not a party, a political party or a military party.
01:21Second, we took a very historic decision on August 5th, that no arms are to remain in the hands of anyone outside of the state.
01:31And we're implementing this decision already south of Litani.
01:37The weapons have been, if you will, collected, neutralized, what have you.
01:41And now the next phase is north of Litani and the rest of the country.
01:44And this is a commitment from our government to the Lebanese people, first and foremost.
