00:00Hey guys! Hey guys! So today we're going to be sharing our favorite moments from the Girl with the Fur Tour with Design Essentials. So we've been traveling around Africa for eight weeks. We started in London, Amsterdam, then Lisbon, Ghana, South Africa, Johannesburg and Cape Town and then we last stop was Zimbabwe.
00:28Of course, as much as we love traveling, exploring and seeing everything, hair was such a big and important part of the trip. So we'll be talking about all of that. So let's get right into it.
00:39So Design Essentials has different collections. My favorite one is the Coconut Emonoi. And my favorite is the Almond Avocado.
00:45My favorite product from the entire collection was the shampoo, the mask and the curl enhancing milk and the oil of course because we need oil in our lives. We all need oil in our lives.
00:57So the first stop was Morocco and it was honestly like a desert. So my tip for shampooing hair properly is to definitely make sure you put the shampoo on the tips of your fingers and massage your scalp thoroughly to make sure you really open your pores.
01:11This also promotes growth. I don't know about Lauren, but my hair has definitely grown so much in the last few weeks of traveling.
01:20I've definitely found that for you to achieve the best results with a conditioner, you have to detangle with your fingers.
01:25Always start with detangling with your fingers and then follow with one of your favorite brushes.
01:29This conditioner is absolutely amazing because it's super light so it just goes through the curls really easily even if you haven't washed your hair for a while and you've been doing the absolute most.
01:39So this one was definitely my favorite for the trip.
01:41Now we moved into London and Rotterdam into city life and that's when my hair kind of started to get dry on me because it was so confused.
01:49I didn't know what to do.
01:50So I'll definitely let Lauren take over because she taught me a few tips and tricks on this one.
01:56So this is a trick I've been doing since I was maybe 15.
01:59Sometimes I don't want to wash my hair with shampoo so I just wet my hair and apply a light product such as the curl enhancing milk or the spray leave-in from the coconut eminoid connection.
02:11It's absolutely great if you're like in a rush and you don't have time to do your hair all over again.
02:16So that's why, you know, that's what I've been doing for a very long time.
02:19So when we were in Lisbon we had the best time.
02:22We got to see beaches and we got to just unwind because we were so busy in the cities.
02:27So I definitely invested more time into scrunching with a gel just so my curls had hold.
02:32One of my favorites is actually the Honey Curl For Me Custard.
02:35I had only used this once last year and I gave it another go and I loved it because all I used before it was a leave-in.
02:43So they worked really well together and it smells amazing so I definitely loved using this one.
02:48For me it was more like I focused more on deep conditioning and adding like oils and masks so this was my favorite.
02:55Left it in for 15 minutes. If I leave it on for too long my hair is going to feel heavy.
02:59So if you had like loose curls, 3B, 3C, I would suggest you leave it in for 15 minutes.
03:04And then after styling my hair I finished it off with a light oil so I still have that moisture after rinsing out the mask.
03:11So from Lisbon we took a really smooth flight to Ghana.
03:16The minute we landed the heat just slapped our hair and our face.
03:20But the humidity, my hair seems to love it.
03:24All I needed to use is something light such as the co-enhancing milk and the oil to seal the moisture and that's it.
03:32My hair absolutely loved Ghanaian weather.
03:35So I found that I had to start doing hairstyles and head wraps and things like that.
03:41The experimenting with the curls came along and I definitely found that it was more fun to try something new.
03:48So I really enjoyed it.
03:49From Ghana we went to South Africa.
03:52For me in South Africa this is honestly when I was doing head wraps and just carrying on with my experimenting with styles.
03:59I also wanted to live in the moment.
04:00I kind of let go of my hair for that time in South Africa but nevertheless I was still deep conditioning, still moisturising my hair with design essentials.
04:10One thing which I also did in Cape Town was I actually deep conditioned my hair in the morning, put a plastic bag because I didn't have a shower cap.
04:17Don't judge me.
04:19And then I wrapped my hair with an African printed wrap and then when I returned home I rinsed it out.
04:25So from South Africa we flew to Zimbabwe.
04:27It was 22 degrees Celsius.
04:29So I was thinking like this is probably the same as Holland.
04:33No it wasn't because the sun was out all day so I didn't have to diffuse my hair.
04:38I only air dried and I realised I don't need much product.
04:40So I just decided to use the deep moisture milk which is one of my favourites as well.
04:45On wet hair let it air dry and that's basically it.
04:48Less is more.
04:49I really learned that from this trip.
04:51So we hope you guys enjoyed the video, enjoyed seeing some of our favourite moments.
