00:00 The curly girl method has become popular on social media and it's the perfect way to define your curls.
00:05 So today I'm going to show you how to style your hair using the curly girl method.
00:08 And if it doesn't work the first time, don't get discouraged, you can try again.
00:11 Heads up, you should also avoid silicones and sulfates when you're doing this method.
00:15 Those can create a waxy build up that can hold down your hair and it won't really create a curl.
00:20 So for the curly girl method, you're going to want to wash your hair with a co-wash.
00:25 You're going to wash your hair as usual, but instead you're going to replace your shampoo with a co-wash.
00:30 Then you're going to rinse your hair while detangling it with a brush or comb.
00:34 So the next step is called squish to condish using the co-wash for a second time.
00:40 At the end of your shower with dripping wet hair, flip upside down.
00:43 Squish in conditioner with your hands in an upward motion.
00:46 With this method, the curls lock in moisture from the water.
00:49 After rinsing your conditioner and getting out of the shower, apply the normal amount you would of gel to your hair.
00:57 Then simply leave your hair alone to air dry.
01:00 I know it may be hard to resist touching your hair, but don't do that because it can cause extra frizz.
01:05 Once your hair is dried and formed a hard gel cast, it's time to scrunch out the crunch.
01:09 This one's pretty self explanatory and it can save you from having hard textured hair.
01:13 Use your hands to scrunch your hair and break up any clumps that may stick together.
01:17 I love the curly girl method. Personally, I use it all the time and it's going to leave your hair bouncing all day long.
