00:00When I first saw Scary Spice and then she came on with her like zigzag or whatever she's saying
00:17with her curly hair and shaking it and I just felt like oh my gosh there's someone out there
00:21that I can try to emulate. Before I was natural I wore my hair straight or I either wore weaves
00:27because I thought that was beautiful but once I learned to love myself and love my hair I went
00:34natural and I rocked my hair the natural texture and I just felt like a goddess with my curls. I
00:40learned to love my curls online and it inspired me to embrace my hair which I always knew was curly
00:48but I preferred my hair to be straight just because that was what we were all doing straightening our
00:52hair getting permed. Once a little girl pulled her hair tie out of her hair and she like let her hair
00:58go wild because she'd seen mine and it was out and big and she wanted hers to be too. In moments like
01:03that literally those are the ones where you're like wow this is so much more than just hair. I mean
01:09that's why representation is so important. That's why it's important for us to be able to embrace and
01:14love our curls and show other little girls because I have a daughter and I always show her and tell her
01:20that her hair is beautiful. There's so many factors the weather, time restraints, you know like
01:28it's so unpredictable so I feel like you kind of just have to say okay you know what I might win it
01:33today I might have my hair popping today tomorrow it might not be as good it might be your turn to
01:38take the shine. We see so many other textures and we're like oh I like hers I like hers but just
01:44really embracing and loving your texture. I use the same approach to my hair as I do almost to my
01:50life and it's find your freedom because I feel like even in how as women like how we've kind of
01:57come to accept our own natural beauty and our own individual unique style that approach to me as an
02:02individual is the same one that I literally have to take when it comes to my hair.
02:08A big one for me is taking care of my hair at night so wrapping it when I go to sleep so that
02:13you know you're avoiding breakage and preserving the moisture while you're sleeping by sleeping on
02:19like a satin pillowcase. Do not sleep on the mist bottle. A mist bottle really helps you to control

02:30body needs water your hair needs water too. I kind of pull my hair up into a pineapple and then on day
