00:00Hey Naturally Curly World, I'm Alexandra and this is Curl Talk TV, your source for all things curly.
00:07As you can see, I just got my hair done by Kimberly Michelle, y'all.
00:12She did an amazing, amazing job, but I want to give y'all some tips on what she used on my hair so you can also recreate a style on your own.
00:21So Kimberly, can you tell us what products you use on my hair today?
00:24Definitely, so initially we started off with the Screw It, which is a curl hydrating jelly oil.
00:31So that was my prep, that was to give your hair the moisture, very little support, but more about protecting the dryness or the lack of shine.
00:39So prepping your hair with that particular product and then from there adding on the Get Twisted and that's our anti-frizz hairspray.
00:47And what it does, it adds a little bit more support so you're going to get more of a stronger hold with that product.
00:52So those were our two main go-to's in prepping and then creating the look.
00:58Going in with the braid, I wanted to keep everything really soft so I can move through the texture.
01:02And then I sealed the deal off with the hard head hairspray.
01:06And that's going to give shine and true support to last throughout the festival.
01:10What would you say your top tip for Curly Girls would be?
01:13My biggest tip would be do not shampoo your hair every day.
01:17You can wet it every day, but don't feel like you have to clean it every day.
01:21Curls need to have that party on their own and so the products start to marinate the texture and so it's kind of like taking your marinate off of your dish before you actually cook it.
01:33So I like to think of just get out of the habit of having to clean your hair every day.
01:40I would say once or twice a week is perfect.
01:44Anything more than that, it's a little aggressive on the curls.
01:47Alright guys, thank you so much for tuning in with us today on Curl Talk TV here with Kimberly Michelle dropping all those amazing gems about how to care for your curls at Lollapalooza.
01:56Bye, see you next time.
02:05Hey Naturally Curly World, I'm Alexandra and this is Curl Talk TV, your source for all things curly.
02:11Today I'm in Chicago, Illinois at Lollapalooza.
02:14We're here with TG at the Bedhead Hotel and it is nothing but curls, cocktails and so many good vibes.
02:20Let's go inside and see what's going on.
02:22I am here with one of the amazing DJs, Caroline Damore and I have to know, girl your hair is so cute.
02:41What was your inspiration for this look?
02:43Honestly, you guys at Bedhead have such amazing stylists and we just talked about, you know, I'm DJing so I needed to have my headphones on and so I couldn't necessarily have these but I can keep them right here so it worked out and I have all these different colors in my hair so it was cool to like show the contrast so it was really awesome.
03:04What is your holy grail from Bedhead?
03:06So I love Bedhead's TG at the wax sticks that they have, literally just smooth the edges down, it is amazing, absolutely love it, I've been using it for years.
03:16I love the mousse, that's how I keep my texture after a quick like wash and go and I want them to keep my natural curl pattern, it really locks it in.
03:23And I'm curious to know, who is your curl crush?
03:26Oh man, I have a lot of curl crushes, I really like Tracee Ellis Ross' curls, they're just so big, the volume, long, like I love it, I love it.
03:35How long have you been natural?
03:36Ten years.
03:37Oh, you were all G!
03:38I did the big chop and then like let it all grow out and I do box sprays, I'll do like a natural blowout, wear it curly, you know, all of it.
03:45Love it, so can you tell me, how do you care for your natural hair while you have a protective style in?
03:51Moisture is key and it's summer and I travel a lot for work so just putting it away is the best bet.
03:56So, I also use the mousse but I do a body wave because my hair is very fine so I just give it a little extra texture and then I feel like I just came from the beach, chilling, my blonde waves, that's what I use from Bedhead.
04:11Well, thank you ladies so much and I'm sure I'll see you around.
04:15And this is Curl Talk TV and we'll see you next time.
04:17Hey Naturally Curly World, I'm Alexandra and this is Curl Talk TV.
04:31We are back at the Bedhead Hotel for day two and as you can see, day one was amazing.
04:37We had so much fun and we cannot wait to show you what's going on today.
04:41Let's take a peek inside.
04:47So many amazing festival hairstyles going on at the Bedhead Hotel and this is one of my favorites.
05:08I'm loving the braided space buns and Logan styled her hair so I'm curious to know what was the inspiration behind this style?
05:15So I feel like a lot of things that we're seeing right now is the combination of textures.
05:19So if you want to turn around real quick, in through the back we have everything just braided up.
05:25We have a smoother texture through the sides.
05:28With the bobby pins especially I feel like it's a really fun way to add in a little extra flair in a way that a lot of people probably wouldn't think about it.
05:36And then in through the top we just have like a back combed space vibe.
05:41So pulling those textures and braids together I feel like really gives you like a true festival vibe.
05:46What would you say is your top tip for girls at the festival for refreshing their hair?
05:52Definitely dry shampoo. My favorite dry shampoo is the Obie Hive from Bedhead.
05:59It adds a lot of texture and volume but also absorbs any excess oil and it also deodorizes the hair so it doesn't have that dirty hair like sweaty smell to it anymore.
06:09It's definitely a lifesaver.
06:11And that was another episode of Pearl Talk TV and it is officially a wrap at the Bedhead Hotel.
06:16Thank you so much TG for inviting us out to be a part of this amazing experience at Lollapalooza.
06:21We can't wait to see y'all next time. Bye!
