00:00Hey Naturally Curly World! You obviously know us from the hair industry but we
00:04love all things beauty. What we love most about the beauty industry? The
00:10advertising. As in we love to make fun of it. So in this video we're gonna recreate
00:16a skincare ad. Every skincare ad starts with the presentation of the problem.
00:22Kind of like this. Do you sometimes look in the mirror and think why is this my
00:27face? Do people tell you you're pretty but you kind of know they're lying to you
00:34because they're not very pretty either? Are you struggling to make friends and
00:38it's because your skin looks like a beanbag? Do you wake up with a new pimple
00:41every day? Is your face greasy as hell? Do your pimples grow their own pimples? Is
00:47your face dry as hell? Do you use a spot treatment but you have so many spots that
00:52you just end up using it all over your face? Is your face like kind of greasy in
00:56some areas and then kind of dry in some other areas where they're greasy and dry
00:59at the same time? If you had to describe your face would it be chewed gum?
01:06Once they've pinpointed your issue or concern they introduce the product and
01:11talk about its benefits like it's somehow different from the millions of other
01:14products out there? Don't forget percentages that seem really arbitrary and
01:19also throw in the word toxins.
01:22Introducing skin fresh made with ingredients like bark of magnesia, willow tree
01:28acid, what? Can you just read the words?
01:31Yeah I can try. Okay. I just don't know if bark of magnesia is a real thing.
01:36It's from India, okay? Please don't laugh at the ingredients. Thanks.
01:45Introducing skin so fresh. Excuse me cut? You do know how to read?
01:51Yes. All right. Can we do a little faster? Okay. You're like hooked on
01:58phonics. Introducing skin fresh. It is. Cut. It's skin so fresh.
02:05Skin so fresh. Introducing. Not intro. Ducing.
02:09Intro. Ducing. It's not that. Intro. Introducing. Introducing the nourishing cleanser of skin so fresh.
02:16It's 97% proven to remove 90% of toxins 99% of the time. Made with ingredients that
02:23were at one time derived from plants. This product is probably gentle enough for the
02:28most sensitive of skin. I think you really have to emphasize the words probably.
02:32We don't have the actual clearance to say that it actually does what it does.
02:36This cleanser is free of all the yucky stuff. Insert buzzword here.
02:41I mean, I know how to take direction, do you?
02:48This cleanser. Excuse me. I don't know how nice
02:51way to say this. Where are you from?
02:54I'm from, um, here? So just a buzzword.
02:58Yeah, go ahead. Mm-hmm. Let's go. Time's money.
03:02Okay, um. No sensitive. Cut. Are you scared?
03:05You're just yelling at me? What's a buzzword? Like a buzzword that has to do with like cleansing or
03:10you know, like pathogens, carcinogenesis, benzylic acid.
03:15Or we just make a benefit.
03:17Next, the model or influencer has to actually use the product.
03:22And pay attention because the way people wash their face in commercials
03:26is completely different than the way any human washes their face in real life.
03:30And then look at the camera.
03:37Smile even bigger as possible.
03:53Oh my God.
03:55Probably the most important part is the rinse.
03:58It's so extra. It's so CGI. So fake.
04:02Them water droplets don't land gracefully on your face.
04:05And last but not least, the final result. Skin's so perfect. So beautiful.
04:26But you're not fooling us. You have makeup on at the end.
04:29How do you have a perfect highlight and lashes on after washing your face?
04:34And there you have it. Let's get-
04:36You need to go to makeup.
04:38I just washed my face though.
04:40I thought we were trying to communicate that like the skin's so fresh it like leaves your skin fresh.
04:45Did we hire you to argue?
04:47Okay. All right. All right.
04:49I feel like a brand new me.
04:52All my blemishes instantly disappeared.
04:55Wow. The best skin of my life.
05:01Skin like a baby.
05:05Like this?
05:06Yeah, that's good.
05:07This is Skin So Fresh?
05:09Mm-hmm.
05:10All right. The director wants it. The director wants it.
05:12You know what I'm saying?
05:13How am I saying we just have to do the Skin So Fresh?
05:14There's a lip. There's a lip.
05:15You know what I'm saying?
05:16All right.
05:17Oh, honey.
05:20Did you go to mom in school?
05:23I need you to look right here.
05:26And to this left.
05:29No, you're not even close.
05:31Okay.
05:32Bring your eyes up.
05:36Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
05:39That's too much.
05:40No, that's-
05:41No, you're in the-
05:43Your body?
05:44Yeah.
05:45Yeah, not your whole body.
05:47Okay.
05:48Are you getting it?
05:49Okay, now you're going to be to the left of the left, and you just right here, and follow
05:53my finger.
05:54Oh, my God.
05:55You're giving me like Victoria Beckham, and I'm just-
05:58No.
05:59Um, no.
06:00That's too much.
06:01Please stop.
06:02I quit.
06:03And there you have it.
06:16Everything you need to make a successful skincare commercial.
06:19Let's see how it turned out.
06:21Is your face greasy as hell?
06:23Do your pimples grow their own pimples?
06:25Do you feel like you're using so much cleanser, and nothing's ever happening?
06:29You're always dirty.
06:30You're always greasy.
06:31You're always ugly.
06:33Introducing the Nourishing Cleanser from Skin So Fresh.
