Transcript
00:00You know, you talked about even in your marriage, you know, you weren't the best husband, you know, and I thought it was also interesting, you know, you said music is a priority. It's always been a priority, always will be a priority. You know, how does love and romance kind of fit in your life now? And, you know, do you see yourself getting married again? Absolutely. Marriage wasn't bad. Marriage wasn't a bad thing for me. I just don't think I was totally, totally ready. I was just so focused on being successful at being successful.
00:30I didn't know how to not give my all to my career. And, you know, you come home empty and when you're empty and you're tired, sometimes you're not the best person to communicate with because you're short and you're quiet. And so now I know how to balance everything and, you know, do it a little different.
00:52I don't have to totally exhaust myself on stage each night. I know how to to separate myself from my work now, whereas before it was all work and I didn't save anything else.
01:10Being, you know, being a father, that was an automatic. But when you're in a relationship with another person, you tend to kind of like, well, I have enough for the kids.
01:19I have a little bit for you, but I'm sure you need more. But I'm tired. And you grow up and you realize, like, that's not fair.
01:27You got to you. You agreed to to be there and to be your best you. And so now I know better. I know not to exhaust myself because it affects everything else.
01:41And speaking of fatherhood, you got a full house. Well, you know, I mean, yeah, my older three, they live, you know, they don't live here. But when they here, yeah, it could be full, pretty full.
01:55I have six sons. My younger three, they're at school right now. I go get them.
02:01Okay.
02:01But then, yeah, I'm a real father. No daughters, only nieces and cousins. But these young men keep me busy. Keep me healthy. Yeah. It gives me a lot of joy.
02:21Okay. Have you ever thought about how life would be if you had any daughters?
02:26Oh, yeah. I see these little crazy little girls be acting up.
02:29Oh, yeah. It's stupid. It's stupid.
02:33Everything emotional. Now, you know what? I got nieces and stuff. And, you know, I think all kids got a little bit of crazy, to be honest with you.
02:41But I love it. It's a fun crazy. It's an exciting time in life when you watch this little being who's connected to you in ways deeper than you can even imagine.
02:55Watch them grow and watch them grow and become and develop into, you know, small human beings and bigger and then go into adulthood.
03:05It's something. There's a joy about that. It's almost magical.
03:08But, yeah, I think a daughter would probably, she would probably, probably get away with a lot more than the boys.
03:20But I'd get on her, though. I'd get on her.
03:23But I probably would have a super sweet spot for her.
03:27Yeah.
03:28Yeah.
03:28Right.
