Getting fit doesn't have to be a drag! Roz 'The Diva' Mays shows us how to shake up tired fitness routines with a fun pole dance workout.

00:00Joining me right now is my new best friend in my head, fitness extraordinaire, Ms. Roz, the diva maid.
00:08Thank you. Welcome to Essence Live. I'm super excited to have you here in all of your accessories.
00:13I can't wait. From what I hear, you have a fit philosophy. What is that?
00:17Yes, my fit-losophy, I am not about diets and crazy cleanses and temporary fixes.

00:41So I kick off those socks for right now.
00:44Once we get into our diva hood after a few lessons, we'll add the shoes on.
00:48But right now, we're going to rock barefoot.
00:50Okay, so you're going to teach me four basic steps today.
00:52Yes, so we're going to take the hand that's on the inside next to the pole,
00:56bring it up nice and high. Like a swollen chocolate.

01:00And then you're going to take this shoulder and you're going to push it down

01:06Come up onto those toes and pull out those hips.

01:22So now I come to the other side. I take my outside arm, bring it on top.

01:30Now we're going to take that leg that's near the pole, take a lifted step up and over.

01:40I feel like we've all done this one once or twice in college.
01:43So step number three should be pretty familiar to most of you essence live.

01:51Let's take those hands, bring them about chin height.

01:53We're going to stick that booty all the way out.
01:55Mm-hmm.
01:56And we're going to lift the hips up just to the right.

01:59And we're going to easy peasy.

02:05Now, let's bring those legs up and over to the other side.

03:34When your hands start to get sweaty, you just slowly one time.

03:45Help combat sweaty skin.

03:51And when I stir my gumbo, we'll grip the aid.
