The cast of 'When They See Us' speak about Donald Trump's possible reaction to the Netflix miniseries.
Transcript
00:00We see clips of Donald Trump within the series.
00:04If he sees this, imagine that tweet, like what do you think it will say?
00:12Realistically, he will probably double down and say like he's been saying, like these
00:19men are guilty, like I believe that they are guilty, which they are not, they are exonerated
00:25innocent men currently. In my dreams, hopefully, this is something that he will realize like
00:32oh, I was on the wrong side in 1989. I was wrong for taking out full page ads calling for the
00:40death of teenagers for a crime in which they did not commit.
00:44I don't think we should admit to something that we didn't do.
00:47Okay, we keep fighting.
00:55This project is the farthest thing from being about him.
01:01Very true.
01:02We don't have an actor playing him. It's not any of that. It's not about him and Ava said
01:07it the best. If you're coming to see the show for Trump, you don't have to see the show.
01:11Because we did this for those men. He just happens to be a very negative part of the story.
01:17Like Michael said yesterday, it's accountability and how people can't own up to what they did
01:21back in 1989. How they can't admit that they were wrong. It's sad. And until we could make ourselves
01:29accountable for our own actions, we can never truly make forward progress.
01:33Also, just plain acknowledgement. You can't fix something if you're pretending it's not there.
01:37So I think you have to acknowledge the problem and then work to fix it.
01:41But right now, we just need to work on acknowledging it.
01:43Oh yeah.
