00:00So, I have a confession to make. I am a die-hard, true-blue, stay-up-until-midnight,
00:09waiting for the next season to drop, can't get enough of it. Orange is the new black fan.
00:14Yes, it is true. The first time I encountered these stunningly complex, funny, sexy, silly,
00:26scarred and yet still surviving women of Litchfield Prison, I was caught between howling with laughter
00:32and weeping into my pillow. To experience a show where the stories of so many different
00:40women, black women, can be told with such intimacy and individuality, with such detail,
00:48and to watch them as they fall in love, fend for themselves, stand up for their rights,
00:54the merits of white Michelle Williams, scheme and scam, and sometimes just have fun, was
01:01to me profound and exhilarating. Whether it be the fiercely loyal heart of Suzanne, also
01:12known as crazy eyes, or the beautifully strong spirit of Sophia, the sophisticated cool of
01:28you say, the aching need to belong of Tasty, the quiet dignity of Janae, the boisterousness
01:41of Cindy, or even the deliciously Machiavellian plotting of Litchfield's own Richard III, otherwise
01:49known as V. These characters are so fully realized that we feel like we know them inside and out,
02:00and in a way, thanks to these incredible artists, we really do.
02:04Thank you very much.
02:05Thank you, Father.
