00:00Oh, my new book. Yeah, Father First is just really a book about my personal life. You know,
00:11reason that I decided to write this book, for many reasons, but one of the reasons was, you
00:16know, I kind of felt that, you know, everything that I go through in life, I go through for a
00:20reason. And I wanted to kind of share, you know, my experiences and show from the kids to adults
00:26how I was able to deal with things. So I talk about my childhood a lot, and I talk about,
00:31you know, all the obstacles in a way when I was young, you know, how to get through those as well.
00:36But, you know, I really focus on, you know, being a father, my custody battle that I went through,
00:40and obviously my divorce as well. What my mom used to always tell me when I was a kid, she'd always
00:45say, you know, your life is big in a basketball, your life is big in basketball. And I didn't
00:48understand it at the time. I think now at the age of 30 and all the things I've accomplished and
00:53the things I want to accomplish and where I'm at, I understand that my life is way bigger
00:56than the sport of basketball. What I try to do is, like I said, I try to shed some light
01:00on good fathers. And you see other guys really starting to get into more of coming out and
01:07expressing about fatherhood, because it is a lot of good fathers out there, but, you know,
01:12it's no secret that, you know, a lot of men I raised, a lot of kids I raised by strong women.
01:17Mr. Obama appointed me a part of the fatherhood initiative that, you know, that they do is to
01:22try to say, listen guys, we got to get back into our position. This is our duty, this is our job,
01:27and our kids need us, you know, so if we want this world to be as great as we want it to be,
01:32we have to make sure we take care of our kids, which is the future of this world. And, you know,
01:38it starts with the leaders, and, you know, men have to be the leaders.
