00:00Hey Essence fam! This is Yolanda Sanguini, Entertainment Editor at Essence.com.
00:10Welcome to the first installment of Coffee Talk, where we'll be dishing on everything entertainment, fashion, news, and everything that matters to you.
00:21So let's get started, shall we?
00:23Each week we'll be counting down the top five stories that you commented on on Facebook and Twitter.
00:29This week's number five hottest story on Essence.com was the Real Housewives reunion.
00:36You had a lot to say about the reunion.
00:39So we went to Facebook and Twitter and asked you, what was your most memorable moment from the reunion?
00:46Helena said, I'm so sick of Kim and Nene. They both need a makeover inside and out.
00:53Marie said, Phaedra, homegirl, laid it down without using profanity. You go, girl.
00:59So here's our take. We love the reunion. We just thought there wasn't enough drama, but you know, the ladies are way more TV ready now.
01:08So they're not going to give you the drama that they gave you in season one.
01:11Part two of the Real Housewives reunion comes on this Sunday at 10 o'clock.
01:15Join us on Twitter, where we'll be talking all about it.
01:18So next up is the number four story that you commented on on our Facebook fan page.
01:23This week was the Grammys and we discussed everything in our live chat about fashion, everything that happened about the performances.
01:32But the story that just kept coming back was Fantasia saying that she boycotted the Grammys because she wasn't invited to do a tribute to Aretha Franklin.
01:42April said, there goes that diva attitude. I love Tasia, but damn, get over it. It wasn't even about you.
01:49And then Debbie said, yes, Fantasia, Mary J, Keisha Cole, Monica, anybody but the group that they had paying tribute to the Queen of Soul.
01:58So here at the office, we talked all about that performance and we loved it.
02:02We thought it was fantastic to have all those different women from different genres of music paying tribute to the Queen of Soul.
02:10It was a beautiful tribute and we loved it.
02:13So the number three story this week was El Debarge admitting that he had started doing drugs again and then he was going to check himself into rehab.
02:21Most of you were very encouraging to El and praying that he gets well.
02:27Winter said, that's too much talent gone to waste.
02:30He still looks good though.
02:32We agree, Winter, he still does look good.
02:35And we also pray that El gets better.
02:38The number two story this week was the Essence Music Festival 2011.
02:44It's coming up July 1st to the 3rd in New Orleans.
02:48We hope you'll be there.
02:49We announced this week that Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Jill Scott, Trace Songz,
02:54and so many more people were going to be at the festival this year.
02:58And you were overjoyed on Facebook and on Twitter.
03:02Rahsaan said, Essence rocks.
03:04I love all the artists above.
03:06Is Trace Songz going to be there?
03:08Yes, he will.
03:09Edna says, real talent because the Grammys were straight up BS.
03:13Well, some people may agree, some people may not.
03:17We hope to see all of you down in New Orleans July 1st to the 3rd for the Essence Music Festival.
03:22So the top story this week was a commentary from Essence.com contributor Stia Brown,
03:29who wrote about women who date men just for their money, a.k.a. gold diggers.
03:35You had so much to say about this.
03:37You made this one of the most popular stories of the week.
03:40Latresa said, look at housewives, basketball wives, football wives, flavor of love.
03:45All these reality shows are great examples of women who date just for money.
03:50Sharron says, why not?
03:52Love is so outdated today.
03:54Do you agree? Is love outdated?
03:56So this wraps up our first episode of Coffee Talk.
