Dr. Spirit talks about how Black women have the superhero syndrome and that Black does crack from the inside.
Transcript
00:00Superwoman syndrome is a very real syndrome, and it is something that a lot of us Black women are
00:05suffering from under the weight of our experiences, carrying our whole community on our back.
00:11We are asked to be not just working outside of the home, but inside of the home,
00:15carrying the weight of children, carrying the weight of partners, carrying the weight of parents
00:19and communities. And for a lot of us, we are the ones that are doing the best in our families. And
00:25so when we come out doing the best, that means we're also supporting everybody who's on the weight
00:30of our shoulders. So we may have one woman who's supporting 10 people on her income, on her education,
00:37and on her strength. And so you need to have a place to understand. And I tell Black folks all
00:42the time, they say, Black don't crack. I say, yes, it does from the inside out. And so we've got to
00:47get the inside together so that we don't fall apart trying to carry the weight on the outside.
00:55so that's what I'll bring you back. Yeah.
00:57That's a great service.
01:03One that's going to grow up andiden's appreciation for me.
01:15That's all.
01:16So that's doing this right.
01:20It's definitely been amazing.
