00:00What strides would you all like to see made in the industry that would be more inclusive of
00:05textured hair? Well, I think we've made tremendous strides. I mean, again, you know, being in the
00:11business from the 80s till now, nobody would know what a textured hair was and how to deal with it.
00:18Can I put a hat on it? I mean, the fear factor of any kind of textured hair was ridiculous,
00:22and it's slowly been acceptable. And I think, you know, the industry is so scared now that
00:30everything will be accepted for sure. So I think the fight is over.
00:37You're looking more natural here. When I look at television and see black women,
00:42I love seeing black women have their natural hair. Now, mind you, obviously it's a preference. And
00:47that's the thing that what I love about this movie is that black women should have the freedom
00:52to decide how they want to wear their hair. I'm not trying to talk badly about when they want to
00:56process their hair or wear hair or whatever. But what I do love to see, it's like, I love Elle,
01:01like your hair is so beautiful. All of our hair right on this panel right now looks so different.
01:04And I think that's what it should look like. There should be a variety of kind of black hair on
01:11television. And I think that's what's been so exciting to me when I turn on TV. I love seeing
01:14black women with natural hair, but then also black women want to straighten it and do that too.
