00:00I have this challenge on my SheLeanLife.com called the 21 Day Challenge because it takes 21 days to break a habit.
00:07And so the challenge is filled with things like cleaning out your pantry.
00:11Like it takes time to get your mind in a space where you can be committed and disciplined.
00:17And then you have to surround yourself with like-minded people and entities.
00:24Don't put yourself in predicaments that you know you're going to fail.
00:27Because then again, you'll start beating yourself up again.
00:31It's okay to make mistakes.
00:33Understand that you have to learn from them.
00:35But at some point, you are going to have to make that choice and stick to it.
00:39And you just have to ask yourself, how bad do I want this?
00:43And this isn't even about, you know, I want to fit in these jeans anymore.
00:46Right now, we're dealing with COVID-19 that is disproportionately affecting African Americans.
00:52So now it's more so about our health.
00:55You know what I'm saying?
00:55And survival and being around for our children to see these graduations and play with our grandkids and things like that.
01:02Things that are going to matter later.
01:03You know what I'm saying?
01:04So we just have to really choose ourselves.
01:09And that's a big deal for Black women.
01:10You know, it sounds real easy.
01:12But we have to really, we really have to choose ourselves over our children, over our husbands.
01:20And it doesn't mean that you don't love them.
01:22But if you don't take care of you, you can't take care of them.
