Russia is not seeking a global conflict, says senior Kremlin official Dmitry Medvedev, adding that it is encouraging that contacts with Washington have resumed.

00:05Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council,
00:09says he was encouraging that contacts with Washington have resumed.
00:13However, he warns the West has repeatedly ignored Russian interests
00:17and accused Western leaders of escalating global tensions.
00:24When asked about a series of international developments in January,
00:27including events in Venezuela and over Greenland, Medvedev said it was all simply too much.
00:34He also dismissed claims of a Russian or Chinese threat to Greenland
00:37as false horror stories used by the West to justify its own actions.
00:42Meanwhile, Ukraine, Russia and the United States are set to hold a second round of trilateral talks
00:48aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
