00:00In Venezuela, almost four weeks after a U.S. bombing hit a naval school and nearby homes in La Guayra
00:06during the kidnapping of Venezuela's President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Siria Flores,
00:12residents gathered Saturday night outside the site for a non-imperialist rally.
00:16More details with our correspondent, Brian Mir.
00:19It's been four weeks since the U.S. government bombed a naval school and adjoining residential neighborhood
00:25in the coastal city of La Guayra during its kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Siria Flores.
00:34On Saturday night, a large crowd of local residents gathered on the seaside in front of the school
00:39in an event called the Anti-Imperialist Tribune.
00:44They do not accept that this world has already changed and that this world does not want to be dominated by anyone.
00:50We do not accept a hegemonic power. This is a world that needs diversity.
00:54We believe in freedom. We believe in the sovereignty and independence of other countries.
00:59We understand that each country deserves to have its own sovereignty respected.
01:05Both collectively and in individual conversations, members of the crowd expressed their indignation
01:11with the kidnappings, which violated all international norms.
01:15After a concert which featured anti-imperialist folk songs, they watched a light show conducted by thousands of drones
01:22which hovered above the naval school that was attacked by U.S. government forces on January 3rd.
01:32Supposedly, in Venezuela there is coca cultivation, and this is where the Aragua train comes from.
01:37No, here we have oil. Here we have gold. Here we have minerals.
01:41Here we have wealth which belongs to us, Venezuelans, which is the future for our children.
01:47What about Yankee imperialism? We are not going to tell the President of the United States
01:53how he should run his country, so he has no right to come here and take the President
01:58with Venezuelans elected to govern us.
02:03Meanwhile, the specter of United States imperialism continues to haunt the Americas.
