00:34this laziness across the board and people hear one other person spout something off or they
00:39misinterpret or uniquely interpret a radio interview and i heard the interview i'm back
00:44and i listened to it twice to make sure i didn't miss it at no point did john gruden say in that
00:48radio interview on dae that he did not speak with the new york jets he never once uttered those words
00:54so i called the jets and i can tell you it was a fact that aaron glenn reached out to john gruden
01:00and he talked to him about the prospects of do you even want to come back to the nfl would you want
01:04to coach and what do you think about you know the jets etc etc but at no point did aaron glenn or
01:10anyone else with the new york jets make him an offer and that's what drives me crazy because it's not
01:15hard to pick up the phone and ask the obvious question so people heard the interview at no point
01:21go back and listen to it does john gruden say i was offered the job i turned the job down he says
01:29kind of i don't want to talk about the jets i wish the jets well he talks around the situation but i can
01:35confirm for you that aaron glenn not woody johnson not down moogie aaron glenn picked up the phone
01:42himself and he called john gruden just to get a sense of would there be interest what do you think
01:48about the the new york jets do you want to coach again and i think people also have to remember
01:52that the nfl is involved in a multi-million dollar lawsuit right now as we speak in nevada state court
01:58with john gruden so i don't think john gruden if you ever wanted to come back to the nfl is coming
02:03back until that lawsuit is settled but it just it drives me crazy when people just don't do a teeny
02:09little bit of homework and ask the question so i did and aaron glenn reached out to john gruden and
02:15never offered him a job it's not hard just to do a follow-up question hey did they offer you or did
02:22you at least have a conversation i'm hearing you here hey craig do you think this sets up the
02:26possibility that if aaron glenn falls on his face that the jets would turn around and call john gruden
02:32back to potentially have interest in him becoming the head football coach i don't think so look you know
02:39there's a reason that with 10 head coaching opportunities excuse me and almost 20 coordinator
02:46opportunities in the league not a single person other than aaron glenn picked up the phone and called
02:50john gruden and i think well look i like john gruden i think he's a great personality i watch him on
02:56now i've watched him on espn i think he's really good at being john gruden and i think you can make a
03:01career out of doing that which it seems like he's happily doing but i also think that we've created a
03:07false narrative about how great a head coach he was because if you actually go back and look he
03:13wasn't he obviously has a super bowl ring and i respect that you obviously as a player respect that
03:19and you don't take that away from him but people talk about john gruden like he's bill walsh and
03:23i'm sorry he's not you know john gruden had more losing seasons than winning seasons and now we're
03:28going to talk about john gruden like he's going to be some kind of savior you know i i think you know
03:33bad cliche but where there's smoke there's fire and if you're telling me that 10 nfl teams with
03:39head coaching opportunities not one of them consider john gruden that's all you need to know
