00:14I think they're going to be competent.
00:16I think the New York Jets offense is going to be much better than any
00:19offense we've seen out of them for a very long time.
00:22And I think there's the possibility that, you know,
00:25they're a seven or eight-win team.
00:27It all comes down like if it does for every other team, you know,
00:30how good is Geno Smith?
00:32Last year's Geno Smith, this team wins three games.
00:35If you get the Seattle Geno Smith, we win seven or eight games.
00:38But I think as much as we all want to make fun of the Jets,
00:40I'm down with that also.
00:42If you look at the offensive weapons they have,
00:46this is going to be a good offense.
00:48Now, the defense, I think, is going to struggle.
00:51But the New York Jets offense is going to be good.
00:53They're going to score points this year.
00:55Do you think one of the major additions has been your friend
00:59and my friend, Frank Wright?
01:01How important do you think he is to what the Jets are going to try

01:06Look at what he did when he was with Philadelphia.
01:07I mean, he's been around everyone.
01:09And especially with veteran quarterbacks, he's really good.
01:12You think that's a big addition to them and why you have optimism?
01:16I'm not the biggest Frank Wright's the savior guy.
01:19But Frank Wright, again, I'm going to use this word a lot today, I guess.
01:22Frank Wright represents competency.
01:24We haven't had that in a very, very long time.
01:27And while I don't think Frank Wright is the greatest offensive mind of all time,
01:32I think Frank Wright, having played, having coached, having been a coordinator,
01:36is right for Geno Smith.
01:38He's right for this team.
01:39And I think it's going to be an upgrade.
01:41Again, look, I was at practice this past week on Tuesday.
01:45Geno Smith's got a howitzer front arm.
01:48He can still make every single throw.
01:49The question is up here.
01:51You know, he's going to take chances.
01:53Last year, Justin Fields, you know, the Jets gave up 60 sacks last year.
01:58And everyone's like, oh, your offensive line stinks.
02:00That's not right.
02:01Justin Fields couldn't let the ball go.
02:03He was afraid to throw the ball more than five or 10 yards down the field.
02:07Geno Smith doesn't have that gene.
02:09Geno Smith has no problem uncorking one down the field.
02:14Hopefully more of those go to our team than the other team.
02:17But Frank Wright, to answer your initial question, represents competency and an upgrade for sure from what we had last
02:26year.
02:26The Jets are going to be a fun offense to watch.

02:31Last year, a punchline.
02:32Where do you think he – you think a year maturing as a head football coach and understanding his role
02:38better this year will make him a better head football coach this year?
02:41Look, he can't be worse, right?
02:42So, I think if you go by that, by default, I think he's going to be better, you know, having
02:46a year under his belt.
02:47I spent a half hour with Aaron Glenn and came on our show on Tuesday.
02:51What I like about Aaron Glenn is that he takes ownership of the mistakes he made.
02:56What I don't like about Aaron Glenn is that he hasn't proven yet that he's a good game day coach.
03:01You know, end of the first half, end of the second half.
03:04Do you make the right calls?
03:05Do you put your team in the best position?
03:06I think defensively him calling the defense should help because that's how he got the job as the Lions, you
03:14know, defensive coordinator.
03:15I'm not sold on him yet as a really good head coach.
03:19And I think there's a reason he's right now, odds-wise, the favorite to be the first coach fired.
03:26But I can tell you this, having sat across a desk from him and looked him in the eye, man
03:31to man,
03:32what I do like about Aaron Glenn is he takes full ownership of what he did wrong.
03:38He's not a finger-pointer.
03:39He's not saying, well, you know, my middle linebacker stunk.
03:42My safety wasn't any good.
03:43He took ownership of the fact that he did a bad job last year.
03:47And I know it seems like a silly thing.
03:49We're talking about adults, and in this case, the guy making like $5 million a year.
03:53But there's something to be said about a man, a head coach, that owns his mistakes
03:58and doesn't blame everybody else around him.
04:00So, again, I don't know if he's any good.
04:03I'd probably lean against it.
04:05But he can't be worse than he was last year.
04:08And his team's not going to be as bad as they were last year.
