00:00they're uh they're celebrating the fact that and complimenting aaron glenn the new york jets uh

00:04head coach for firing steve wilks after giving up 48 points uh to the jaguars this past sunday

00:11um and i'm saying to myself why am i congratulating or complimenting the guy for firing steve wilks

00:19when he's the guy that brought steve wilks here he hired we all know that steve wilks is a lousy

00:26defensive coordinator that's why he got replaced after a year in san francisco that's why he stunk

00:32in arizona he had a small little taste of the good life in carolina when he became the interim head

00:37coach before dave canals got there and the team played for him and that's really extended steve's

00:43career but this to me this isn't i like the one part of me says this in regards to aaron glenn in

00:50this i appreciate this part of it when you make a mistake you can't be afraid to correct the mistake

00:57as soon as possible and the best example i have for that is the arizona cardinals when they drafted

01:03josh rosen and they knew week one josh rosen's not an nfl quarterback now they drafted josh top

01:1010 maybe an eighth overall you could fact check me on that and most teams when they make a commitment

01:16in a draft to a quarterback you'll give that quarterback plenty of rope to eventually prove

01:21that he can't do it the cardinals knew from day one we made a terrible mistake here and literally

01:28within a year got rid of josh rosen he went to miami if you remember and they drafted kyler murray

01:33all right now kyler murray's not great but he's better than josh rosen oh yeah and they've gone you

01:38know to the postseason i think once with kyler murray his rookie season right but you appreciated the fact that

01:44they own the mistake and i'll say this about aaron glenn i appreciate the fact that he owned the

01:51mistake okay i'll give him that but i'm not going to compliment him for doing it because when the jets

01:57were looking for a defensive coordinator everybody with a microphone or a season ticket in their hand

02:04all said the same thing hiring steve wilkes is a bad idea he's a lousy defensive coordinator

02:12it's why san francisco pivoted as quickly as possible and went back to robert sala as soon as

02:18he became available when he got fired from the jets right the guy has a track record of being maybe not

02:25incompetent but a bad defensive coordinator and that's just facts that's tangible put them on the chalkboard

02:32facts so rather than give aaron glenn credit and again i acknowledge that the jets did something smart

02:38here they recognized a problem they didn't waver on it they got rid of him that's the right thing to do

02:46but you also have to own the fact that you're the people because it's not just aaron glenn it's a

02:51collective obviously with every team that thought for a hot minute that steve wilkes was going to be the guy

03:01to continue on very good defensive play which to be fair even in the years of robert salas head coach

03:08their defense was top 10.
