Rostec has released rare images showing the operation of the MTU-90M universal bridge-laying system, one of the most specialized assets in the arsenal of Russia’s engineering troops.
Developed by the UralVagonZavod group, the system is employed in combat and emergency scenarios when it is necessary to quickly overcome obstacles such as ravines, anti-tank ditches, or watercourses.
The MTU-90M uses a three-section folding bridge made of high-strength steel, measuring 20 meters in length and with a load capacity of up to 60 tons. The gap between the beams is covered by panels, allowing the passage of both tracked vehicles and wheeled vehicles. In addition to military use, the system can also be employed in rescue and civil defense operations.
