On September 27, the Russian Ministry of Defense released a video showcasing the training of crews operating the latest T-90M "Proryv" tanks, employed by the “Center” troop grouping.

According to the ministry, the exercises took place at a training ground located in the rear area of the war zone with Ukraine, which Russia refers to as the “special operation” zone.

The tank crews practiced the fire advance technique, a maneuver combining offensive movement with successive shots against simulated targets, and also trained in the use of concealed firing positions, taking advantage of terrain features and fortifications to enhance protection and responsiveness.

Importance of the T-90M "Proryv"

Considered the most advanced tank in service with the Russian Army, the T-90M is a modernized version of the T-90, featuring Relikt reactive armor, an upgraded fire-control system, active protection against anti-tank missiles, and a 125 mm gun capable of firing different types of ammunition, including guided missiles.

However, despite its technological improvements, the T-90M has suffered heavy losses on the battlefield, particularly against the massive use of Ukrainian kamikaze and FPV drones. Independent reports and open-source intelligence analyses indicate that dozens of units have already been destroyed or severely damaged by drone strikes, highlighting the vulnerability of even the most modern tanks in drone warfare.
