00:05love the stadium you know i i made that very clear um i made it very clear
00:10you know to just got there as well and you know the you know second part of it is
00:15you know it's you work you know your whole life pretty much in order to get in
00:20to this type of position right so you want to enjoy the ride and you want to
00:23understand you want to take in
00:25these you know many different things that are being thrown at you so it's a combination of wanting
00:30to enjoy the process and hear what everyone's got to say and also you know ultimately express
00:35you know what you really want and where you want to see your your future at
00:40there's not enough positive words to say i think you know obviously we all know
00:45you know what he does on the field um it's truly special but just what he
00:50brings into the locker room what he brings as a teammate and you know the confidence that
00:55he instills in everyone in that locker room he's a huge part of the success of this organization
01:00and um ultimately you know when you have an opportunity to
01:05play alongside you know future hall of famer already and um you know you want
01:10to you want to go and you want to win that ring right you want to parade down new york city um
01:15you want it for for judgy of course you want it for for the fans and ultimately you know that's that's
01:20the main goal here is to have a parade down the city of new york and um you know
01:25what's what i want to do and um that's what i that's what i want to strive to do we're texting
01:30back and forth um you know just casual conversations nothing too
01:35nothing too serious but um yeah he was we were talking throughout the process yeah i'm very lucky
01:40very blessed and i understand that because of those teams that i've played for and i feel like
01:45in those types of places obviously the yankees are included there's a type of
01:50bond and there's a type of commitment to winning in those locker rooms and i know
01:55i don't know personally but um you know it's not like that everywhere and so when you get
02:00into uh a locker room where there is about that and it's
02:05about you know winning and it's about doing it for each other you don't really want to leave it you
02:09know
02:10what i mean because i mean grass ain't always greener on the other side and i'm lucky enough to be a part of
02:15three really great organizations i had some good conversations with my dad and you know ultimately
02:20like however long ago that is now um they gave him his shot from
02:25the you know 10 years in my leagues right and obviously was blessed enough to come up to that dynasty
02:30with with the yanks and um you know set my my family up well his my
02:35you know my family up for for the future we could you know grow up go to nice schools and
02:40um so you know to the family you know it definitely means a lot means a lot to him and
02:44also
02:45ultimately he just wanted me to be happy he said wherever that is you know just go be happy and
02:50that's the most important thing your focus has been on the yankees and this country
02:55contract but team usa reps have have made it clear that they would be interested
03:00in having you play in the wbc what's your thought process
03:05process on that and have you made any decisions about that yeah i've uh
03:10definitely want to do it at some point in my career obviously you never know what the future holds
03:15um i don't think this year is going to be the year um you know i just
03:20want to especially you know getting the the free agent and going into
03:25spring you kind of just want to focus on what's at hand here and the task at hand and
03:30i owe it to you know steinbrenner family and to the yankee organization and go and get my best
03:35what's at hand here is going to be able to flip forward and uh try and win a championship
