00:00Hi there, welcome to this beautiful...
00:05Thank you again for having us.
00:07I'm going to start with you Coach Gregor, we are launching this year's...
00:10championship here in Edinburgh.
00:12What would it mean to the team to actually claim the title this year?
00:15Yeah, it would mean I'm huge about it. It's great to...
00:20to host the launch of the tournament, a great deal of people in our country and our capital city.
00:25Yeah, look, we're about excited to know what a cup and we can't wait to get stuck.
00:30Thank you very much. Sione, what is it about the six nations that...
00:35it holds such a special place in the hearts and minds of the players.
00:40Yeah, geez, it's an amazing tournament and I think the pinnacle of Test Rugby, to be fair, outside of the World Cup...
00:45and so much history in the Six Nations and so much rivalry between teams.
00:50We will see you in a bit later, Sione. Thank you very much for being with us.
00:54Please...
00:55A round of applause for Scotland!
00:57Thank you very much. Thank you Sione.
01:00Next up everyone is England!
01:05Thank you so much for both of you. I'll start with you Steve, a clean sweep in artists...
01:10The Six Nations is clearly an entirely different challenge, isn't it?
01:13Well, it certainly is an important...
01:15Scotland had six really good teams packed full of superstar players...
01:20They can't wait to get going and every sport I chat to, they can't wait for the tournament to get started.
01:25We all can't wait, thank you very much. Jamie, you kick off your campaign against Wales...
01:30Can it be fair to say that there is no shortage of motivation within the squad?
01:34We need...
01:35The rivalry between the two teams?
01:37Yeah, obviously there is a huge amount of rivalry between the two teams.
01:40You know, I think whoever you kick the tournament off with is always going to be a big game.
01:44But for us being...
01:45Being at Allianz Stadium at the start of this amazing tournament is a real motivation.
01:50For us in itself.
01:51Thank you very much for being with us. We'll see you a bit later Jamie.
01:54Thank you coach.
01:56Our next nation...
02:00Our next year today is...
02:01Italy!
02:02I hope you do coach.
02:03Hi there.
02:04We see...
02:05We have a huge interest in Italian rugby when we see the recording of a ticket for your
02:09home game.
02:10On the page you have some of the most incredible, exciting young players in Europe.
02:14What can...
02:15What can we expect for your team this year?
02:19Yes.
02:20We are super happy and proud of the performance.
02:25Of the guy...
02:26Of the players.
02:27Because I think that's one of the main reasons why we have a couple...
02:30of sold outs in Italy that is not that common.
02:33And what can we expect...
02:35As always.
02:36I think a lot of passion from the team.
02:40We are super proud of being part of this competition.
02:45And making sure we do our best to compete in every game against every team.
02:50Not like last year that we competed in some games and some we were a bit behind.
02:55So...
02:56Really motivated for that.
02:57I guess you are.
02:58Thank you very much coach.
02:59Um...
03:00Kelly.
03:01You are going to be back here in Edinburgh for your first game against Scotland.
03:04What is the focus...
03:05What is the focus going to be for this first game?
03:06Well obviously Scotland is a tough one.
03:07Obviously we want to...
03:08Well obviously Scotland is a tough one.
03:09Obviously we want to...
03:10We have to kick it off in a very...
03:12In the best way but at the same time we have to...
03:15Focus firstly on ourselves.
03:16We got a...
03:17A week...
03:18A massive week now of preparation and that's...
03:20That's going to be the first goal.
03:22And then you know prepare for...
03:23For a very tough game especially.
03:25Physically.
03:26Uh...
03:27But then obviously strategically as well.
03:28You know being...
03:29Being prepared.
03:30And then being focused on...
03:31On our...
03:32On our job will be...
03:33Will be key.
03:34Well good luck for the tough week.
03:35To come.
03:36Thank you very much.
03:37I'll see you a bit later on stage.
03:38Thank you very much coach.

05:51Thank you very much.
05:52I'll see you again.
05:53Thank you all.
05:54Thank you very much.
05:55And last but not least, let's hear from our reigning champion.
06:01Bye!
06:02.
06:05Let's talk with you, Coach Fabiano.
06:07So you are the reigning champion.
06:08You've got three.
06:10Games at home, world class squad.
06:11I want to know how you're going to set the mindset to make history.
06:16Three games at home, an extremely talented team.
06:18How are you going to do it?
06:20I want to know how you're going to set the mindset to make history.
06:25I want to know how you're going to set the mindset, how you're going to set the mindset, how you're going to set the mindset to make history.
06:30We're going to play the best practice of the rugby league in the world.
06:33So we're so happy to play.
06:34We're going to have to participate in these competitions.
06:36And then it's a competition that's a little bit more special than that.
06:39it goes very fast and very long time, so it will have to...
06:44...sauté à l'abonnement.
06:46Okay, parfait, merci beaucoup.
06:48So, he was saying that...
06:49First of all, kicking off with an event like this here in Edinburgh with all the best coaches and players...
06:54...in the world.
06:55This is obviously first, you know, a great moment...
06:59...and he finds it like very high, but also it's a very special competition because it's quick.
07:04And long at the same time.
07:05So, this is what he's going to tell his players is to kind of like step by step.
07:09I guess that's a good translation.
07:12Antoine, bienvenue...
07:14...de nouveau haussination.
07:15I'll do it in English first.
07:18Our front team...
07:19...with R200 on the call sheet definitely puts an extra tension and excitement...
07:24...for the fans.
07:25How are you going to prepare this and does that put any extra pressure?
07:43I think I...
07:44I'm very used to have this kind of position now, so...
07:47It's not my main focus.
07:49My focus is to be the best for my team and to be the best prepared.
07:54...for the first game because, as Kagan said, it's just ten days.
07:59It's the first game on Thursday night, so it will be very special and we have to be ready for this first game.
08:04Thursday night, 11 days to go, Stade de France, everyone. We're very excited.
08:08Thank you very much for being here.
08:09Stay with me, Antoine, I'm going to ask you for a special moment for our guest here...
08:14...but also everyone following us around the world, you can actually take the trophy one last time...
08:19...we want to actually highlight the achievements of last year's championship.
08:24one last moment with you both, with the trophy, with the photo, if that's okay.
08:28Antoine, you can give the mic...
08:29I'd like to...
08:30...dorm here at the Bartima de Sage.
08:32Restez avec moi, Fabien, on va faire une...
08:34...dernière photo pour immortaliser ce trophée qui est encore le vôtre, encore pendant quelques jours.
08:39...
08:39It's now time, everyone, to take your phones out. This is a memorable moment, historic moment for France still...
08:44...the reigning champion for a little bit, 10 days to go.
08:46A round of applause, please, for the reigning champion.
08:49...
08:54Thank you very much. In a few seconds, we will move on to...
08:59...
08:59...our captain's panel on stage before we do that. I know that some of you...
09:04...including the coaches have other commitments you have to go to, so if you need to go, this is the moment...
09:09...thank you again for being with us and for your attention. Ladies and gentlemen, again...
09:13...
09:14We are going to take a little short break just to reset the stage for our captain's panel.
09:19...
09:24welcoming on stage the captains and vice captains
09:26of the Six Nations teams, Antoine,
09:28Kaylin, Sion,
09:29Jamie, Michele and Dewey.
09:32Round of applause.
10:04To all the fans and members of the media tuning in from around the world, this section of the day is a chat.
10:09It's nice to hear from the main stars sitting just next to me comfortably, as I can see.
10:14The captains and players are leading their country and team into the 143rd.
10:19I want to kick things off with Jamie George, Vice Captain.
10:24It is the worst thing that Amaro Itoji could not be with us.
10:29For personal reasons, but that also does mean that we get a recording.
10:34The Court Breaking Club and Country Captain and now Vice Captain of his country.
10:38Jamie...
10:39If you noticed that you were retiring at the end of 2027, does that add an extra significance to every...
10:44...opportunity to represent your country?
10:46Yeah, absolutely.
10:47And I think, you know, probably all the guys...
10:49You know, you never take it for granted, whether it's your first game or your last...
10:54So, you know, it's nice for me to be able to get that out there and sort of say what my...
10:59...intentions are, but, you know, a big part of that decision was, you know, wanting to still be a big...
11:04...part of this England team because, you know, it's a really exciting time to be a part of it, you know, other than me.
11:09It's a young squad and, you know, a lot of the guys are, you know, exciting players who...
11:14...starting to get some form together in club rugby, so, you know, we're really excited.
11:19...starting to...
11:20Your first game is at home to Wales, since it's fair to say that you could never...
11:24...under-estimate, sorry, any opposition for Six Nations?
11:27Absolutely, and I think probably history...
11:29...shown that, you know, especially over the last couple of years, you know, the games have been really, really...
11:34...tight, and obviously Wales coming in with a new coach, I think that's a fresh...
11:39...situation and, you know, it's going to be a real challenge for us in England and Wales.
11:43Allianz is a...
11:44There's always a big game.
11:46This year is something of a landmark year for rugby.
11:49As an international rugby player, it must be very exciting to see calendar pictures...
11:54...the very, the best teams in the world and players in the world.
11:57Yeah, it is, and I think, you know, that...
11:59...that change...
11:59...of the schedule is probably something that, you know, the games have been calling out for...
12:02...for a while.
12:03It's just an opportunity.
12:04...for the best to play the best.
12:05And, you know, you want to measure yourselves against the best players and the best teams.
12:09...in the world and, you know, the global calendar now looks like that...
12:12...but that's probably why the Six Nations has been...
12:14...you know, as big a tournament as it has for such a long period of time...
12:17...because it's the best against the best team.
12:19Thank you very much, Jamie.
12:20Talking about the best players in the world, I obviously turn to you.
12:24Antoine.
12:25You were back from an injury a few days ago.
12:27Everyone is very, very...
12:29...very excited to see you back with the French jersey.
12:31You have some incredible moments at De Pense.
12:34Actually, I was very lucky.
12:35How much are you looking forward to this edition?
12:38Yeah.
12:39Obviously, I'm very excited to play this first game at home.
12:42It's special for me.
12:44I didn't wear the French jersey for almost one year.
12:48So, yeah.
12:49I'm very excited.
12:50As we said, it's a magical tournament and...
12:54...where it's still the same feeling each time we...
12:59...to play this kind of games.
13:01There are new faces and changing within...
13:04...the next slide.
13:05Also, given your competency and rule of number nine.
13:07Does that bring extra...
13:09...your responsibilities towards the players on the pitch and outside?
13:14Yes, but I think as a...
13:19I already had this kind of role in the team.
13:24I had to be a leader and I think I'm...
13:29well surrounded in the team by other experienced players who helped me a lot.
13:34So it's just a no-no.
13:37We were used to see a...
13:39to live the same conversation you had with Gregory Aldridge.
13:42How are you going to prepare the matches?
13:44You had like a telepathic relationship with Gregory Aldridge.
13:49Are you going to prepare them actually differently?
13:51Well, I think I haven't...
13:54a lot of...
13:56I'm very close to other players.
13:59We know each other very well for five, six or seven...
14:04so I think we'll have to try this connection for the family.
14:09The first game, because it will...
14:11comes very soon.
14:12Very soon.
14:14Thank you very much, Antoine.
14:15All the best for this edition.
14:17The first team to face Antoine and his teammates...
14:19will be Ireland, of course, Caitlin.
14:22It's never an easy...
14:24a trip to go to Paris, also for a first game.
14:27I mean, Ireland versus France...
14:29the future for the Six Nations.
14:30It's clearly a national occasion for both teams.
14:32How important is it to...
14:34the two of them for this championship?
14:35For this first game?
14:36Yeah, it's big.
14:37Well, Manchester's big in this competition.
14:39The way you start sets you up well or not so well,
14:42depending on how it goes.
14:43So, it's going to be a big...
14:44we do focus on a proper performance to start us off.
14:47We're off to Portugal later.
14:49We're on today.
14:50A nice training camp there.
14:51And then, transfer across to Paris every next week.
14:54So, yeah, it's a short turnaround.
14:57Not a whole lot of time, but...
14:59it charpens the line, Daphne,
15:00and it's one to get excited about.
15:02Out of interest, how...
15:04much attention is given to Antoine's training sessions, analysis...
15:09Is there a special focus given to players that have to be...
15:14on any team?
15:15Yeah, I mean, on any team, there's a certain kind of individuals that...
15:19coming in on, and you're aware of their strengths and weaknesses,
15:22and what makes them tick.
15:24Obviously, when it comes to France, you look at guys like him...
15:29and kind of look for tendencies and ways you can try and negate their threats as best possible.
15:34which can be challenging, but...
15:36yeah, it's always getting the balance right between focus on yourself.
15:39and awareness of what the opposition will bring.
15:42Similar to France, new faces...
15:44changes within the team.
15:45For fun, it adds actually even more interest.
15:48How is it...
15:49What is it for you to represent your country in this championship?
15:52It's always privilege...
15:54The way we were saying, you can never take it for granted.
15:56Especially being in the roles that we are in.
15:59as leaders.
16:00It's such a special tournament.
16:03It's towards the...
16:04political of the game.
16:05And...
16:06Yeah, it's always an excellent time here.
16:07Thank you very much.
16:08Thank you very much.
16:09Helen.
16:10When we talk about passion, we think of course of the Italian anthem.
16:13Once we hear...
16:14it's in the stadium, so I'm turning to you Michele.
16:16This time last year, you were in Rome...
16:19to host, of course, at the beginning of this championship.
16:21Rugby in Italy.
16:22It's became...
16:23It's...
16:24It's becoming stronger and stronger.
16:26Uh...
16:27I mean...
16:28Everybody's waiting for that.
16:29How has the Six Nations contributed to the sports growth in general?
16:33Well, a lot.
16:34I think it's...
16:35For sure, the...
16:36the main event that has been followed for the...
16:39for the...
16:3920-25 years in rugby I mean and so that's obviously
16:44something that has put like players in front of a lot of kids myself as well
16:49I grew up with with a couple of idols there so now I contributed a lot
16:54and now we can feel that sort of responsibility we got
16:59towards the kids as well and that was one of our biggest aim especially to
17:03you mentioned
17:04the stadium in Rome you know to have a couple of sold-outs
17:09it's pretty much amazing you know I think a lot of people coming there and cheering for us
17:14Scotland for your first game and their tickets are I think almost sold out
17:19how are you preparing for this first game and does that add maybe extra pressure
17:23well
17:24yeah obviously whenever whenever you face a bigger challenge your pressure will
17:29increase in that in that sense obviously we know Scotland
17:34like it's it's an unbelievable team like they brought some real consistency
17:39week in and week out throughout the last the last couple of years especially
17:44you know they grew up to the point where you know like they will bring the game
17:48they
17:49they want to do so we know from outside we can we can put them under pressure
17:54in some areas and those we have to explore at the very best at the same time
17:59you know we have to as Kaelin was saying like focus on yourself and trying to
18:04be the best part and the best the best thing you can actually be in
18:09that day
18:10yeah
18:11adding a little bit of consciousness of what the
18:14the other team is that
18:15the other team will bring
18:16six nations is clearly a guarantee of
18:19competitive matches this can only fuel the rise of Italian rugby
18:24right
18:25yeah hundred percent
18:27uh i think that has been a little bit like
18:29We missed a couple of times in the last couple of years.
18:34The consistency of performances is something we were really looking forward to, like we've
18:39seen.
18:39When we are at our best, we can actually compete against anyone.
18:44But at the same time, you know, to be able to be at our best every single time.
18:49You have to go a step further in that way.
18:52So, yeah, that's one of our...
18:54I mean, objective, especially for the Six Nations campaign, but even like for the hour,
18:58like...
18:59a bigger picture for our team, generally, obviously, very young team, so a lot to...
19:04to grow and to improve on, but at the same time, you know, we want to get...
19:09to that consistency part where we can really step onto the pitch and...
19:14know that we are going to face a big challenge with our, like, strength.
19:19every single time.
19:20Thank you very much for giving.
19:22Have a great championship.
19:24So, we still celebrated 25 years within the Six Nations, but one of its Sounder was Wales...
19:29Okay.
19:31behind enemy lines.
19:32So Dewey, new coaching setup, new faces in the whale.
19:36What's the mindset and objective for the first match?
19:41Yeah, I think everybody on this stage so far has alluded to winning.
19:46You know, that's ultimately what we go on the pitch to do, I think.
19:51New coaching staff and new squad coming together has been, you know,
19:56a fresh start for us.
19:57Steve's brought a lot of value in, a lot of values in the least.
20:01Kind of instilled into the group already.
20:06Yeah, I think, you know, that first game up against England.
20:11It's going to be massive for us to go and test ourselves against the best.
20:16You know, we've said that momentum in this tournament is huge.
20:19So, yeah, anything we can...
20:21we can get from there, then you can carry on into the next.
20:24That game's a fun game thing.
20:26Does that fry the team up?
20:28Yeah, massively.
20:29Yeah, I think...
20:30Um...
20:31You know, that game's not necessarily when you need to talk too much around the thing.
20:36The talking's done for you from a player point of view.
20:40Um...
20:41You know, the build-up in the week is always massive.
20:45The hostility...
20:46When you turn up to the ground, um, kind of gets you in the mood.
20:51To go anyway, so I think, yeah, the mindset stuff doesn't really need to be done.
20:56It's kind of, it's kind of done for you in that week.
21:00There's a lot of new...
21:01There's a lot of new surrounding the Wales squad at the moment, but is it a case of the rugby taking focus?
21:06Yeah, 100%, I think, like, there's a lot going on in...
21:11in Welsh rugby at the minute, but I think that's something that can really...
21:16take your mind off things if you can just focus on the job at hand and focus on the rugby...
21:21I think, um, you know, for us to put our best foot forward and to play...
21:26our best rugby, that's what we have to do in this campaign, and, um, yeah, I think it'll be, as we said...
21:31a breath of fresh air with new coaches, staff, new ideas coming in and...
21:36Thank you very much for the weeks to come.
21:39Finally, to our host, Scott...
21:41Scotland and the captain who added a lion's door to his city last summer.
21:46Scotland were there at the very start of the international rugby, we all know that, does that history...
21:51have you seen a lot of passion when players put a jersey on?
21:53Yeah, definitely, I think, um, the history of all these jerseys...
21:56but, I think, most importantly, the history of this competition as well.
21:59Um, like I said before, it's...
22:01the pinnacle of Test Rugby outside of the World Cup, and it's a competition that, um...
22:06carries so many rivalries, and, um, I suppose that's what makes it so exciting.
22:11Um, you have England who's called it at home.
22:13Uh, Murrayfield is one of the sport's greatest stadiums on these...
22:16are two of the biggest rivals.
22:17Is it twirly to think about those fictions?
22:20Yeah, definitely.
22:21I think so.
22:22Um, you know, our first game against Italy, which is, I think, a problematic game for us...
22:26to be fair over the last couple of years, and especially over there in Rome, and I think
22:29the progression that...
22:31the battalion team has made, um, I don't think we can think about England...
22:34Yeah, no, I think especially with the U4...
22:36the three games on the bounce, I think the more...
22:39we can take it one game at a time, and...
22:41um, you know, earn another week together, and get the ball rolling...
22:43like the same moment, it's such a...
22:45you know...
22:46important part of this competition, and...
22:48I think, you know, we're foolish of me to start thinking about England...
22:51before...
22:52before taking on, um, Rome and Italy.
22:54And that's going to resonate with my last...
22:56last question.
22:57You are likely to get this question quite a lot.
22:59Uh, is this year Scotland's year, and...
23:01why will the trophy be coming back to Edison?
23:04Geez, I think, um...
23:06I wouldn't be a captain if I stood up here and said no.
23:09You know, and I think, um, that's all...
23:11all of our objective as captains is to touch that trophy, and...
23:16um, you know, for me as a Scottish player and a Scotland captain,
23:18it's something that we haven't achieved yet, but...
23:20um...
23:21um, you know, that is the goal, heading into every tournament,
23:24it's the top of the trophy, and, um...
23:26I'd like to think that is our ambition.
23:28Um, but, like I said before, our main focus is...
23:31um, heading to Rome and getting the...
23:33the ball rolling in this competition.
23:35Let's...
23:36applaud it.
23:37One last time, I'll take big calls, everyone.
23:41Well, this is the end of our live stream.
23:45Thank you so much.
23:46for tuning in from around the world.
23:48This is it for us.
23:49Thank you very much, and...
