00:00On tonight's episode, I might as well jump at a deal for these famous...
00:05rock and roll sneakers.
00:07Do you recognize these?
00:08The greatest guitarist of all time?
00:10Aww.
00:11Aww.
00:12Yeah, but there's no real proof that he wore them.
00:15Then Chum sees if he can swish a deal on a Magic Johnson.
00:20You have a 1980s Topps basketball wax pack, and I can see Magic...
00:25Magic Johnson right there through the wax pack.
00:27It scares me because that's where wax stains gonna happen.
00:30And unfortunately, we wouldn't know until we opened it up for sure whether it was stained or not.
00:35And later, Cory is off to the races when he takes a look at a vintage mint julep.
00:40Somebody told me that these were rare when I noticed the presidential initials.
00:45Magic Johnson.
00:46Magic Johnson.
00:47Magic Johnson.
00:49Magic Johnson.
00:50Magic Johnson.

01:04Magic Johnson.
01:05Magic Johnson.
01:06Magic Johnson.
01:07Magic Johnson.
01:08Magic Johnson.
01:09Magic Johnson.
01:10Magic Johnson.
01:11Magic Johnson.
01:12Magic Johnson.
01:13Magic Johnson.
01:14Magic Johnson.
01:15Magic Johnson.
01:16Magic Johnson.
01:17Magic Johnson.
01:18Magic Johnson.
00:55Okay, I've been arrested.
01:00What do we got here?
01:01Warren and signed converse Eddie Van Halen.
01:04You're saying...
01:05Eddie Van Halen, the man, wore these.
01:08Mm-hmm.
01:09That's...
01:10It's pretty amazing.
01:12In 1979, I...
01:15We had tickets to Black Sabbath, and the warm-up band was...
01:20How awesome.
01:22But then I ended up getting grounded, and I couldn't...
01:25Go to the concert.
01:25Oh, that's not good.
01:27Literally ruined my childhood.
01:30I'm here at the pawn shop to sell Eddie Van Halen's worn...
01:35and signed converse.
01:36I'm a big fan of Van Halen, but Eddie Van Halen was my favorite.
01:40I believe they're his because I've done lots of research over the years.
01:43I've looked at the signatures.
01:44I look at...
01:45I've looked at his shoe size, but I just never had them authenticated.
01:49My asking price...
01:50for Eddie Van Halen's signed and worn converse is $10,000.
01:55I'm kind of in awe.
01:57Eddie Van Halen, guitarist for the...
02:00The band Van Halen, just like mega rock stars of the 80s.
02:03You know, I was around in the 80s.
02:05I mean, who could forget the Hot for Teacher video?
02:07The 80s were great.
02:09The 80s were great.
02:10I so miss the 80s.
02:12Yes.
02:13His signature guitar...
02:15was nicknamed the Frankenstrat.
02:17It was a Spender Stratocaster, and it had...
02:20this paint job on it, and that's the guitar he played always.
02:23If you have...
02:25one of his Frankenstrat's that he played on stage or something like that,
02:29you're kind of rich.
02:30Yeah.
02:31Yeah.
02:32Yeah.
02:33They're beautiful.
02:34I mean...
02:35Oh, there's the Franken-shoes.
02:36I'm absolutely in love with him.
02:37How are you?
02:38This is my youth right here.
02:40Okay.
02:42All right, so where did you get these?
02:44It was a business...
02:45transaction with a friend many years ago.
02:48And you believe these are actually...
02:50Eddie's.
02:51I do.
02:52I mean, someone definitely wore these.
02:53Yes.
02:54I...
02:55But we can't...
02:56We don't know for sure if this was worn by him.
02:58Have you ever had this signature?
03:00Checked out?
03:01No.
03:02And I have thought about it, but I have just gone online and I've looked...
03:05looked at the many signatures.
03:07You know...
03:08But the shoes, I mean, they're so...
03:10super cool.
03:11I mean, if we could prove he wore them, that's the whole problem.
03:14I know.
03:16How much do you want for these?
03:17Uh, 10,000.
03:18Okay.
03:19First, I need some...
03:20I just want to take a look at the signature.
03:21So, let me call in, uh, Steve.
03:23He's old like me, so...
03:25But he's probably going to be excited, too.
03:26I'm not old.
03:27Be right back.
03:28Okay.
03:30How you doing?
03:31Great.
03:32How are you?
03:33Great.
03:34How are you?
03:35Pretty good.
03:36Uh, what do you have here?
03:37This is one of the most beloved and important packs of...
03:40basketball cards in all of history.
03:42Long Johnson Boone packs, so I'm guessing, uh, this...
03:45has, uh, Magic Johnson on the back?
03:48Yes.
03:49One of the...
03:50beloved Magic Johnson rookie cards is on the back.
03:53Too bad it's not the bird, Johnson.
03:55It's a serving card.
03:56That's correct, but it could be in the pack.
03:58And that card graded as a PSA 10...
04:00worth half a million dollars?
04:01Eh, if you thought there was a tin in here, a possibility you would have cracked this...
04:05thing open and pulled it out.
04:06Maybe I'm not...
04:07Maybe I'm not in the gambling mood right now.
04:09I'm...
04:10I'm here to sell a 1980 Topps basketball pack with Magic Johnson's rookie card on the back.
04:14The big...
04:15factor of this pack is the fact that the Magic Johnson rookie is featured on the back,
04:18and there is potential for the Magic Johnson...
04:20Larry Bird Julius Erving card to be inside the pack.
04:23I won this card in auction...
04:25approximately three years ago as I started building a collection of sealed and authenticated
04:28wax packs.
04:30I've decided to sell this pack because, quite frankly, I've just got too many.
04:33And I'm looking to maybe narrow down my collection...
04:35focus on another part.
04:36This is really cool.
04:38You have a 1980s Topps...
04:40basketball wax pack.
04:41Cool thing about this is it's graded, so I do...
04:45know that it's authentic.
04:46I have no questions about that.
04:48These cards were really cool because...
04:50basically one card had three built-in mini cards into it.
04:53They were preforated...
04:54and...
04:55you just kind of had to rip them apart.
04:57But...
04:58some people didn't rip them apart and those were the smart people.
05:00in time.
05:01If my brain serves me correctly, this pack would have came with eight cards...
05:04and...
05:05and we actually know what one of the cards is because it says right here Long Johnson
05:09Boone...
05:10and...
05:10and...
05:11it says back, so I'm guessing I can see it through the back.
05:13And that's right, I can see the magic...
05:15Johnson right there.
05:16I mean, I can kind of see a little bit of the other cards, but...
05:19um...
05:20we can confirm one card out of the eight that are in here.
05:23Now there are other cards in this...
05:25set that could be very valuable and they could also be in here, but that's unconfirmable.
05:28I mean, the other valuable card...
05:30that you would really want out of this pack would be the other Magic Johnson rookie.
05:33It also has the Larry Bird rookie attack...
05:35patch to it and then the...
05:36um...
05:37the Irving card on it as well.
05:39So...
05:40what are you looking to do with this slab today?
05:42I'm looking to sell it.
05:43And do you have a price in mind?
05:44Yeah, I'm pretty...
05:45confirm right at $2,000 based on current market conditions and the general rarity of that
05:49pack.
05:50Okay.
05:50Um...
05:51as far as price goes...
05:52I really would like to have someone come in and take a look at...
05:55it because...
05:56I don't...
05:57really know the graded sports market as well as I should.
06:00So...
06:00do you have a few minutes to hang out while I get someone down?
06:02Yeah, that sounds great to me.
06:03All right.
06:04Give me just a few minutes.
06:05I'll have someone come down and take a look at it and then we'll go from there.
06:07Sounds like a plan.
06:10I have a customer in the shop with a...
06:12I have a customer in the shop with a...
06:14I have a customer in the shop with a...
06:15a pair of custom-made Converse high tops that she says...
06:20was owned and signed by Eddie Van Halen.
06:23She's asking for $10,000...
06:25Steve Grant is going to check out the signatures and if they're real, this could be a deal.
06:30that makes me dance the night away.
06:31Steve!
06:32What's happening?
06:33How are you?
06:34Good to see you.
06:35Pretty good.
06:35Good to see you.
06:36Hi, how are you?
06:37I'm good, how are you?
06:38Good, nice to see you.
06:39Nice to meet you.
06:40All right, so do you recognize...
06:40these?
06:41Well, yeah, I mean the greatest guitarist of all time, Eddie Van Halen, correct?
06:45Yeah, yeah.
06:46Childhood relived right here everything.
06:50Like, look at the...
06:51I mean, I'm really hoping they're real, but, you know, there's no...
06:55there's no real proof that they belonged to him and he wore them.
06:58But let's take a look at the...
07:00signature first.
07:01I mean, obviously that's your big concern because if you have the signature that's authentic...
07:05I'm sure to tie things together.
07:06Do your magic.
07:07I'm gonna just get some magnification on this.
07:09Now, I...
07:10I met Eddie many times and if I look at a couple more of my examples that I have on
07:14file, the same thing...
07:15Rick.
07:16Right in here.
07:17He's doing it here.
07:18Now, look at this.
07:19Do you...
07:20cross your sevens when you write them?
07:22No.
07:23A lot of people don't do that.
07:24Very distinct.
07:25Crossed.
07:26Crossed.
07:27I've got to tell you, this...
07:30this is a museum quality piece for sure.
07:33Perfect signatures on both of them.
07:35So you're looking at a piece of music history here.
07:37Everything matches out pretty good.
07:38Okay.
07:39All right.
07:40What do you think?
07:40What do you think they're worth?
07:41Since Eddie Van Halen passed away in 2020, I've seen his values sky...
07:45a rocket.
07:46Usually guitars.
07:47Now you're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars.
07:49Conservatively...
07:50based on what I see here, you're looking at $30,000.
07:54You know...
07:55Rick would that set.
07:56Take these to a professional photo matching service.
07:58These could even go for more.
08:00I could see these going up to 50.
08:03The photo match is the most important thing.
08:05So...
08:06All right.
08:07Thanks, Ben.
08:08Good to see you.
08:09Good luck.
08:10Nice to meet you.
08:12Yep.
08:10All right.
08:11You got something special here, okay?
08:13But they're not photo matching.
08:15How many photos are there in these shoes?
08:17I don't know.
08:18Yes, got it.
08:19So I would give you the...
08:20I'd pay a grant for them.
08:21Are you willing to go a little higher?
08:23Are you stuck on...
08:24I'll go $10,500.
08:25And not no more.
08:26I don't know if he wore them.
08:28It is a gamble.
08:29I'll take it.
08:30Okay.
08:31We got a deal.
08:32I will meet you right over the counter.
08:33I'll get you paid.
08:35A guy came into the shop with a graded 7...
08:401980 Topps Wax Pack with the Magic Johnson Rookie Card.
08:45He's looking to get $2,000, but I don't know how desirable this is right now.
08:50So I've asked Andy Broome to come take a look and let me know if I should take a shot on this one.
08:55Hey.
08:56Hey Chum.
08:57How you doing?
08:58Good. How you doing?
08:59Pretty good.
09:00Hey, good to meet you.
09:00Nice to meet you.
09:01So this guy has one of the coolest wax packs you could have.
09:04I think the only one...
09:05cooler would actually have Larry Bird with Magic Johnson on it.
09:08Very nice.
09:091980 Topps basketball.
09:10So very famous or infamous set known for having one of the great...
09:15greatest basketball cards in the hobby.
09:17It was the first time Topps used such a design where they...
09:20perforated three separate cards onto one.
09:22And so naturally, kids ripped these packs.
09:25and they pulled them apart.
09:26Well, this is the Long Johnson Boone version.
09:30And if you want to check it out, you can see it right there on the back.
09:33Magic Johnson dead in the center.
09:35Oh, yeah.
09:36And as we see here, this is where the pack is actually put together.
09:39The wax...
09:40paper.
09:41And so that seam is right over the top of the Magic Johnson card.
09:44And so what we...
09:45we know from that is the wax would seep in.
09:47Maybe it had too much, maybe too much heat.
09:49It'd actually go...
09:50onto the cards and soak in.
09:52And unfortunately, we wouldn't know until we opened it up for sure.
09:55whether it was stained or not.
09:56So, all in all, what do you think about this?
09:59So...
10:00this pack here with the Magic Johnson on the back,
10:02the value on this would be $800.
10:04You got any...
10:05any questions at all?
10:06That seems a little low to the rarity of the pack
10:08and the general fact that Magic is on the...
10:10in the back.
10:11I mean, the market at auction seems to be a little bit more volatile,
10:13volatile upwards.
10:14So I'm kind of surprised...
10:15by that valuation.
10:16Yeah, you know, in any auction, it just takes two people to fight each other
10:19and drive a price up.
10:20You know, we see that, especially in cards.
10:22All right.
10:23Well, I appreciate you coming out.
10:24Absolutely.
10:25Good luck.
10:27You bet.
10:28All right.
10:29I know you were pretty firm on what you were saying, but...
10:30I do got to go with Andy there.
10:31Well, I appreciate the consideration.
10:33You know, I do have a big collection of these...
10:35sealed and slabbed wax packs, and I'm just starting to think about breaking it up.
10:39So maybe...
10:40Maybe this isn't the one that I start breaking up the collection,
10:43and I keep it intact for a little bit longer until maybe...
10:45the market bounces back up.
10:47So no deal, but really cool to see this thing.
10:51Appreciate your time.
10:52Have a good day.
10:55Bye.
10:56Bye.
10:57Bye.
10:58Bye.
10:59Bye.
11:00Bye.
11:01Bye.
11:02Bye.
11:03Bye.
11:04Bye.
11:05Bye.
11:05Bye.
11:06Bye.
11:07Bye.
11:08Bye.
11:10Bye.
11:11Bye.
11:10Bye.
11:11Bye.
11:12Bye.
11:13Bye.
11:15Bye.
11:15Bye.
11:16Bye.

11:47Bye.
11:48Bye.
11:49Bye.
11:50Bye.
11:51Bye.
11:52Bye.
11:53Bye.
11:54Bye.
11:55Bye.
11:56Bye.
11:57Bye.
11:58Bye.
11:59Bye.
11:35I'm hoping to get $50,000 for this sculpture, although I love it.
11:40I need the money to restore a classic car that I'm working on.
11:45It's super cool. During World War II, they were trying to come up with a code that...
11:50the Japanese couldn't break.
11:52The army came up with a brilliant idea.
11:55of getting an unbreakable code, which was Native American languages.
12:00The syntax of Native American languages are very different than...
12:05the English language or the Japanese language.
12:07The Native Americans that were on the battlefield...
12:10doing the code, they were very famous, and the Japanese couldn't decode it.
12:14They had no idea...
12:15what they were talking about.
12:17So, what do you know about this?
12:18R.C. Gorman...
12:20I heard the name, Preeminent Southwestern Artist.
12:22I got it at an estate sale.
12:24I...
12:25go around to them.
12:26I know just enough to be dangerous.
12:27So, uh...
12:28I went and...
12:29I went and grabbed it.
12:30I don't know if he's the most famous Native American artist, but he's up there.
12:34He's a beautiful...
12:35It's a beautiful shape.
12:36It's not been dropped.
12:37It's not...
12:38You know, and these things are heavy.
12:39I like it.
12:40It's an R.C.
12:40Gorman.
12:41And it's R.C.
12:42Gorman's dad.
12:43And it's incredible.
12:44I mean, it is beautiful.
12:45And it is American history.
12:46I love that part.
12:48Now, the big question...
12:50How much do you want for it?
12:51Given the artist's clout, I was hoping to get around $50,000.
12:55Most people don't realize this.
12:57Art doesn't go up to value forever.
12:59Some art goes up.
13:00Some art goes down.
13:01This stuff went for really good money back in the day.
13:04These are going for...
13:05Right around $5,000 at auction.
13:08But I would give you $2,500.
13:10That's quite a difference.
13:12Can we go...
13:15Can we go up to $5,000?
13:16I'd go $2,700.
13:18I can't go no more.
13:19Whew.
13:20Well, at that price, I think I'm just going to continue to let it go.
13:25But it looked great in my home.
13:26If you change your mind, let me know.
13:27I will.
13:30I will.
13:32I will.
13:33I will.
13:34I will.
13:35I will.
13:35Hey, how's it going?
13:36Good.
13:37How are you today?
13:38I am doing well.
13:39What do we got here?
13:40Just fine.
13:41I have...
13:40I have sterling silver mint julep cups.
13:42Minus the mint julep.
13:45I'm here to sell two sterling silver mint julep cups.
13:49They're from a horse...
13:50They're from a horse race in 1995.
13:52These cups belong to my father-in-law, the cup...
13:55These cups may have been gifted to my father-in-law from the trainers.
13:59My asking...
14:00The price for my mint julep cups is $2,500.
14:03If I'm able to sell my cups, I'll...
14:05I'll be putting the money in my savings account.
14:07Definitely a pretty cool item.
14:09Every state has...
14:10Kentucky has a thing.
14:11Kentucky, it's the mint julep.
14:13It's so popular there.
14:14I mean, I think it's the...
14:15Special drink of the state.
14:16Are these for a horse race, or...?
14:18Yes.
14:19They were from a...
14:201995 horse race, and the horse was anchor.
14:24Minus the mint julep.
14:25Minus the mint julep cups have been synonymous with horse racing since the 1820s.
14:29And I believe...
14:30That they actually used to give out the cups as the trophies back then.
14:33I guess it kind of makes...
14:35It makes sense.
14:36I mean, it's a fancy drink.
14:37It's cold.
14:38It's got the crushed ice.
14:39The mint, it's refreshing on a...
14:40Hot day.
14:41Do you mind if I take a look at them?
14:43Please look at them.
14:44Okay, um...
14:45They're definitely sterling.
14:46Oak Tree Racing Association.
14:48Um...
14:49So these are made by...
14:50Mark J. Sears.
14:51Sears is the name of the company.
14:53Shelbyville, Kentucky.
14:54Obviously.
14:55It's definitely a cool gift to give somebody.
14:57You just kind of came across these from your father-in-law?
15:00I was cleaning out a closet and I was going to take them to work and auction them off.
15:05And then somebody told me that these were rare when I noticed the presidential...
15:10George Herbert Walker Bush.
15:13Yes.
15:14Okay, so...
15:15That's how they date him.
15:16Instead of putting a year, they put the president that was in offices.
15:20It goes all the way back to FDR.
15:22But...
15:23I mean, this is kind of weird.
15:24On the bottom, you know, we have...
15:25George H. W. Bush.
15:26But then we have this here that's engraved in 1995 where...
15:30Bush wasn't president.
15:31So...
15:32In some way, shape, or form, there was some extra...
15:35Cups laying around that weren't engraved and then they got engraved.
15:38You would assume that they would have a whole mass pie...
15:40style of cups that they had printed up already.
15:42I don't know, but they are Sears cups.
15:45What are you trying to get for?
15:46Well, I was thinking $2,500.
15:50I think they're really cool.
15:51But I mean, in a state where we don't have any horse racing...
15:53Mm-hmm.
15:54...and I don't think I've ever seen...
15:55Can anybody order a mint julep here?
15:56That'd give you about $800.
15:57What about $900?
15:58What about $900?
15:59Well, you do...
16:00Are you $8.50?

16:20range and hopefully we'll have a shot at a deal today how's it going not bad how about you
16:25guys good so you're the man with a gun yeah so what exactly
16:30is this i believe it's an 1840s colt patterson revolver well
16:35looks like a colt patterson it's the first practical reliable
16:40most likely will not blow up in your hand revolver i reached out to the
16:45pawn shop to try to sell 1840s colt patterson revolver i've been
16:50collecting for quite a while and i've never owned one of these or seen one in hand so i was pretty
16:55surprised when i found it in this collection of guns that i recently bought i'm asking for 45
17:00100. if we can make a deal today i'm going to put that right back into buying some more guns and
17:05military antiques for my own collection i'm kind of impressed in 1831
17:10colt comes out with a colt patterson it was the most high-tech
17:15mass-produced firearm of its day everybody wanted one everything about this design was
17:20pretty impressive i mean right after this gun came out you know the saying came out that you know god made
17:25ball bed and sam colt bait ball bed equal well rick before
17:30you get ahead of yourself this gun is missing a trigger no it's there where
17:35oh oh oh it comes down like is that oh that way you
17:40could put it in your belt or your holster or something it wouldn't get caught on anything
17:43because you know other guns had trigger guards but
17:45this was a fancy little thing where you didn't have to have a trigger guard yeah that's pretty cool
17:50there any markings on it rick i've seen a few one of them's faded
17:55it's not cold markings this almost looks like it's french or something right
18:00here you can't see the whole words on there but it's like we used at the end
18:18you
18:05it looks just like a colt patterson but it doesn't say colt on it where it's
18:10it's supposed to i know it has the profile of a patterson it has that high
18:15that high end engraving on it the hidden trigger it could be a foreign copy i guess
18:20i just don't know i mean i mean i don't know if he made some of these ship them overseas
18:25put different stamps on them how much do you want for it i'd like to get around 40
18:30500. okay uh if it's a colt patterson that's probably
18:35a good price let me call somebody get him down here and they can look at it maybe
18:40they'll know who made it and then maybe we could fire it
18:45so
19:05How's it going?
19:08Good.
19:08I have a couple of Lego mini...
19:10I figured I think you might be interested in.
19:11Okay.
19:12Yoda and Spider-Man.
19:14You know, the minifigures are hot right now.
19:16It's kind of weird now they're tied in with Disney, Marvel.
19:19You know, they started off as just little guys that you could put in a car you built with
19:23the Legos, right?
19:24I have two very exclusive Lego minifigures.
19:27One is Spider-Man from...
19:29Comic-Con and the other one is Yoda with New York I Love t-shirt because it's Yoda-speak.
19:33So it's...
19:34These minifigures are probably some of the most highly sought after in the world just
19:38because there's very few...
19:39of them that were given out and they were at very specific events.
19:42For the Spider-Man, I'm looking for 12,000...
19:44And for the Yoda, I'm looking for $14,000.
19:46Definitely really cool.
19:49Lego was actually kind of in trouble in the 90s, wasn't it?
19:51Yeah, in like the early 2000s, you know, they were...
19:54They were having a rough time.
19:55Absolutely.
19:56I've got a whole new brand with the little minifigures and I'm just about the...
19:59license for almost everything kids like.
20:01Television, movies, toys, theme parks.
20:03I mean, it...
20:04Lego's almost a new Disney.
20:05I mean, it just made these things just massively...
20:09collectible.
20:10Let's start with Spider-Man here.
20:12So this was exclusive minifigures.
20:14Lego Comic-Con 2013, it's the only time Andrew Garfield was...
20:19in a minifigure form until the recent movie that just came out.
20:22Tell me about Yoda.
20:22Where'd you get him?
20:23So I was at the...
20:24event where they unveiled a life-size X-wing fighter built out of bricks in the middle of Times Square.
20:29And this was a free gift with a purchase at Toys R Us.
20:32Knew it was in really good condition, so I...
20:34sent it out and got the grading of 100%.
20:36And as far as I know, it's the only one that's hit 100%.
20:39Give me an idea of what you're looking to get for him.
20:41For the Spider-Man, I'm looking for...
20:44$12,000.
20:45Okay.
20:46And for the Yoda, no one's ever seen one of these, and I'm looking for...
20:49$14,000 for this.
20:50$26,000 for...
20:54Lego figures.
20:55Yep.
20:56You know what the crazy thing is?
20:57They might be worth that.
20:59I have no idea.
21:00Do you mind if I have a Lego expert come down and take a look at him?
21:02That's fine.
21:03I'm gonna go give him a call.
21:04I'll be right back, okay?
21:04Okay.
21:05Thanks.
21:09Chum and I are out at the range looking at an old revolver that looks like a...
21:14Colt Patterson.
21:15The seller is asking for $4,500, and I have a lot of questions.
21:19So let's see if he thinks this is a sure shot.
21:24All right, so...
21:25So Rick is stumped.
21:26I'm just gonna come out and say it.
21:27Stumped?
21:28Yeah.
21:28I'm out.
21:29Alex.
21:29Jeremy.
21:30Nice to meet you, Jeremy.
21:30You too.
21:31Okay.
21:31Looks like a Colt Patterson, but it has some...
21:34Some boring-looking words on it that are pretty worn down.
21:36Okay.
21:37I mean, it does look...
21:39It does look like it wants to be a Colt Patterson.
21:42The Patterson is super important.
21:44It does look like a Colt Patterson and Firearms design because it is the first revolving cylinder.
21:48So you...
21:49You can pull the hammer back, the trigger pulls down, and the cylinder rotates.
21:54Fire it, and again.
21:56So that was patented in 1836 by Colt Patterson.
21:59From there on, pistols and the idea of a revolver...
22:04Change firearms forever.
22:06Oh, look at all the engraving.
22:09Can you make that out on there?
22:10I mean, that...
22:11I can see the end of it.
22:12So this is a pretty well-known...
22:14Belgian manufacturer called Le Hoist, and underneath, that is the end of the work.
22:19Brevet, so brevet in French means patent.
22:22So the Belgian gunmaker...
22:24Le Hoist, and Liège were prolific.
22:26They were copying firearms made from all over...
22:29over the world, and they did it legally and illegally, meaning they honored patents when...
22:34when it was convenient, impossible, or they just made them anyway.
22:38All right.
22:39Colt went to Belgium and made an agreement with most of the manufacturers there that he would...
22:44allow them to use his designs if they paid him for it, but they had to mark...
22:49their pistols as Colt Brevettes.
22:51This particular example is Mark Brevet, but it is...
22:54not Mark Colt.
22:55Certainly, it's an attempt at a copy of a Patterson.
22:58There are some differences.
22:59But that's what the design's being borrowed from.
23:01Okay.
23:02So does it work?
23:03It...
23:04It should...
23:05It's a super high-quality build, and you can just...
23:09feel with the way in which it's indexing.
23:11The hammer's very strong.
23:12All the chambers look pretty...
23:14clear.
23:15It doesn't look like it's been used much at all.
23:17Can you look at it, make sure it'll shoot down...
23:19everything.
23:20We'll try it out.
23:21Are you okay with that?
23:22I would love that.
23:23It's...
23:24It's very...
23:24simple to fire.
23:25It's just percussion caps and black powder.
23:27Okay.
23:28Do your magic.
23:29Alright.
23:30I'll go get my stuff.
23:31Alright, Alex.
23:32I'll get some good targets for you.
23:33Alright.
23:39Chum and I are looking at what appears to be...
23:44a copy of a Colt Patterson revolver...
23:46made by a Belgian gun maker.
23:49The seller is looking to get $4,500 and is willing to test fire it.
23:53I can't wait to...
23:54see what Chum came up with for targets.
23:58Are we good to go?
23:59We are good to go.
24:00I've got the right size projectiles, percussion caps and...
24:04I'm going to load it with the cylinder off and then put it back together and...
24:09Chum got some special targets.
24:13Are those waffles?
24:14Your eyes are not deceiving you, Rick.
24:16Why waffles?
24:18Belgium?
24:19Waffles?
24:20Guns?
24:21I'm sorry.
24:22I couldn't get enough chocolate in time.
24:23Those are real...
24:24really big looking waffles.
24:25Well...
24:27If we don't hit them, you can eat them.
24:30Alright, load her up.
24:31Okay.
24:35Alright, I'm backing up.
24:36Everybody put your ears in.
24:38Remember...
24:39If you don't hit it, it's not a bad thing this time.
24:42Three...
24:44Two...
24:45One...
24:47Yeah!
24:50Well...
24:51There goes lunch.
24:52Waffle!
24:53Look at this!
24:54Alright.
24:55Well, it fires well.
24:56Yeah?
24:57How was the waffle?
24:58It was actually...
24:59a little crispy, but pretty good.
25:00Well, how was the gun?
25:01Excellent.
25:02The gun worked great.
25:04Alright.
25:05It's just...
25:06It's just...
25:07It's just...
25:08It's just...
25:09I'm dying to find out how much this thing's worth.
25:11So, uh...
25:12How much is it worth?
25:14So, it's a really nice firearm.
25:16If you have an original Colt Patterson today...
25:19It's worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
25:23But it's not a Colt.
25:24But because it's a Belgian copy, I think it's worth about $3,000.
25:29Okay.
25:30Okay.
25:31Okay.
25:32So, you think this would retail for like $3,000?
25:33Yeah.
25:34Okay.
25:35Thanks, man.
25:36Appreciate it.
25:37You're welcome.
25:38Good luck.
25:39Nice to meet you.
25:39Okay.
25:40So...
25:41I'm asking $4,500.
25:42Well, that's not gonna happen.
25:44I mean, I think it's super, super cool because I'm not gonna get my...
25:49myself a real Colt Patterson.
25:50I think $2,000 is fair.
25:53There's no way.
25:54No way I can go that low on it.
25:56It's 180 years old.
25:58The beautiful engraving...
25:59It's in great condition.
26:00But it's not a Colt.
26:01That's just it.
26:02I'd give you $2,000.
26:03I could...
26:04I could come down a couple hundred, $4,200.
26:06Not gonna happen.
26:07Okay.
26:08But you change your mind, shop...
26:09Top and around, my offer is $2,000.
26:10I understand.
26:11All right.
26:12Thanks for bringing it.
26:14I'm gonna spend it on waffles.
26:15You don't wanna know.
26:19You don't wanna know.
26:20You don't wanna know.
26:21A customer brought in two exclusive Lego mini-fakes.
26:24One is a Times Square Toys R Us New York I Love Yoda.
26:27And the other is a 2013...
26:29San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Spider-Man.
26:31The seller is looking to get $26,000 for these two figures.
26:34So I called my Lego expert, Brandon, to come down and take a look at these and see if
26:38we can put together...
26:39Hey, Cory.
26:40How's it going?
26:41Good to see you again.
26:42Hi, I'm Brandon.
26:43Nice to meet you.
26:44Nice to meet you.
26:44These are the Lego figures I was talking about.
26:46Oh, wow.
26:47These are some exceptional figures.
26:49Lego created the minifigure in 1978.
26:52They pretty much kept it in-house.
26:54Until the late 90's when they acquired the Star Wars license.
26:57Minifigs became super collectors.
26:59They're respectable.
27:00They look great.
27:01And people just love them.
27:02They have a sense of nostalgia that just hark...
27:04and harkens back to everyone's childhood.
27:06Okay, he wants quite a bit for these.
27:08What do you think they might be worth?
27:09So we have the NY I Love Yoda.
27:12This figure was given out as a...
27:14exclusive in Times Square in May of 2013.
27:17It is very rare.
27:19One issue with this figure is there is an extremely large amount of fakes.
27:23Obviously, it's great...
27:24It's not great at 100%.
27:25I just want to verify myself.
27:28But this looks...
27:29good this looks check out the color of the heart is correct so it's real
27:34i would say this is 100 real yes let's talk about spider-man over here okay so starting in
27:392011 lego issued the superheroes line as part of the
27:44promotion they would give away these exclusive minifigures at san diego comic-con this
27:49particular figure uh i can tell you is very rare had to get a raffle ticket to get
27:54it it is the first figure that has the andrew garfield costume printing
27:59as far as i know there are only 350 of these in existence
28:04so basically what i'm looking for is the lego trademark stamped onto the bottom
28:09of the legs which is there it's an amazing figure and very rare i guess
28:14the biggest question of all what are they worth so the new york i heart
28:19yoda i would give this a value of nine thousand dollars
28:24the andrew garfield spider-man extremely rare extremely hard to get
28:29i would put a value of that at twelve thousand dollars all right well i appreciate you coming
28:33down all right
28:34thank you thank you good luck appreciate it so is that what you wanted to hear i think he's
28:39he's right on the the spider-man i think he's low on the new york i love okay
28:44that being said i'll do 14 for the pair cash money today you don't have to go find a lego
28:49you don't have to try to buy them could we do 19 15 000 is the most helpful to do
28:54we're talking about little tiny toys here and i'm paying you the price of a small car
28:5816 5

29:39Good morning.
29:40Good morning.
29:41How can I help you today?
29:42I have here a Louis Vuitton jacket.
29:44I bought it from a flea market.
29:46It looks real.
29:47It feels real.
29:48Okay, well...
29:49I've bought plenty of stuff at the flea market before that was real and...
29:53Yeah.
29:54Plenty of...
29:54I bought plenty of stuff that looked just real enough.
29:56I'm here at the pawn shop today...
29:59...because I'm trying to sell a Louis Vuitton jacket.
30:02I bought it at a flea market...
30:04...because I wanted to give it to my dad as a gift.
30:06But when he tried it on, it didn't quite fit him.
30:09It looks great and it has a great quality.
30:12My asking price today is $500.
30:14If I do manage to make a sale today, I think I'll go shopping.
30:19And find my dad a jacket that fits him and that he really likes.
30:24Pretty cool.
30:25Well, Louis Vuitton is a very prestigious company too.
30:29...to say the least.
30:30At times, they are trendsetters.
30:32It's nice to see a jacket like this.
30:34I mean, it's got your typical Louis look.
30:36Maybe kind of early 90s-ish really.
30:39Kind of when the hip-hop culture really started kind of taking on to this stuff.
30:43Maybe they started a little...
30:44...a little bit earlier in the 80s.
30:45But this jacket crosses the boundaries between street wear...
30:49...and fashion.
30:50I think it's a really cool look.
30:51Do you mind if I take a look at it?
30:53No.
30:54Go for it.
30:55Have a look.
30:56No.
30:57I mean, off first glance, the zipper looks, you know, pretty good.
30:59It's a nice, heavy-duty zipper.
31:01Mm-hmm.
31:02Let's take a look here.
31:03It's...
31:04It seems like it's a good quality.
31:06Yeah, the stitching looks pretty good.
31:08A lot of times not...
31:09...the knock-off pieces will just have really, really bad stitching.
31:12It'll be uneven from here to there.
31:14This one looks pretty good, though.
31:15Mm-hmm.
31:16And, of course, we'll look at this little Louis Vuitton.
31:19Tagging here.
31:20Louis Vuitton.
31:21Paris.
31:221854.
31:23So...
31:24It's got a lot of the stuff that I'm looking for.
31:27The major thing I'm worried about right here is this medium.
31:29Tag is just slightly off-centered.
31:32And if it was Louis Vuitton, I would...
31:34I would expect that to be, you know, dead-centered.
31:37It's a mistake that I...
31:39I wouldn't see very often in a Louis Vuitton jacket.
31:41It's possible that it could happen, but...
31:43It leaves...
31:44The question's unanswered for me.
31:46And how much are you looking to get for it?
31:48$5.50.
31:49Okay.
31:50Um...
31:51It does have some really good stuff going for it, but...
31:53I'm not a hundred...
31:54I'm 100% sure this is authentic.
31:56I really hope it's authentic.
31:59But I definitely need some questions answered about this piece.
32:02Do you have a few minutes to hang around?
32:03I could get...
32:04Someone down here?
32:05Absolutely.
32:06Yes.
32:07All right.
32:08Give me a minute.
32:09I'm going to make a phone call and see if you can get down here.
32:09Thank you so much.
32:10Thank you so much.
32:14What do we got here?
32:18I have an anti-cruel...
32:19I have an anti-cruelette table.
32:20The wheel was built about 1926.
32:22And the interesting thing about it...
32:24is this is the holy grail of casino cheating.
32:27It's a rigged wheel?
32:29It's...
32:29It's a rigged wheel.
32:30Yeah.
32:31I'll put a hundred on black.
32:34I have an anti-cruelette table.
32:36It was built to be a cheating roulette table, which is...
32:39very rare.
32:40And there's only a few known to exist.
32:42The table was found in California.
32:44And I bought it from an antique dealer.
32:46I'm asking $95,000 for it.
32:49I have an antique mall.
32:50And if I'm able to sell it, I will reinvest and buy more merchandise and...
32:54And that's what I do.
32:55I buy and sell.
32:56I think it's absolutely beautiful.
32:59People have always gambled.
33:00In the 1700s, they basically came up with what we have.
33:04It's a roulette.
33:05It's a French word.
33:06I forget what it means.
33:07And it ended up in gambling halls around...
33:09Europe, became very popular, eventually came here.
33:12The great thing about this game is...
33:14The house always wins.
33:16There's no winning with roulette.
33:18I tell people that...
33:19all the time.
33:20You can't.
33:21Just the law of averages.
33:22Eventually, it'll take all your money.
33:24Absolutely.
33:25How did you determine it's rigged?
33:28The leg...
33:29The legs are hollow.
33:30There were four batteries.
33:31Two in each leg.
33:32There are three switches.
33:34One on the end.
33:35One on each side.
33:36So the dealer could actuate them if they knew which...
33:39Screw to push.
33:40Right there.
33:41Yeah, there's a button right there, yeah.
33:42Yeah.
33:43I grew up in Vegas.
33:44I've read about all the...
33:44little mob things.
33:45I've read about everything.
33:46And I know how they would rig these things.
33:47If the ball looked like it was going to go...
33:49in one section where the big money bet was at.
33:51He'd press a button.
33:52A plunger would hit the ball.
33:53And it wouldn't...
33:54It wouldn't go in that one.
33:55It would go somewhere else.
33:56No, it's very, very...
33:59interesting.
34:00It's cool.
34:01I mean, it's got some history.
34:02We don't know exactly what the history is.
34:04How...
34:04How much do you want for this?
34:0595,000.
34:06How did you come up with that number?
34:09Antique tables near this same quality are selling for 75,000 to 100,000.
34:14I've never heard that kind of money for a roulette wheel.
34:16What you got here is super cool, but it's...
34:19finding a customer for it that wants to spend a lot of money and has the room for it and
34:23wants to collect this.
34:24That's...
34:24that's going to be the problem.
34:25I'm not even going to make you an offer on it because we're so far off.
34:29And the regulation size roulette wheel most...
34:34in the United States, you're not allowed to own it, period.
34:36This is still a felony.
34:38But thank you...
34:39Thank you for bringing it in.
34:40Thanks.
34:41And I will go get some guys to help you load it up.
34:42Thank you very much.
34:43Okay.
34:44Have a...
34:44You too.
34:45Roulette and its casino table game relatives are...
34:49Vegas as the gold and silver pawn shop, but they originated long before billions...
34:54of neon lights lit up the Nevada desert.
34:57Some historians say Romans were the earliest...
34:59innovators of craps.
35:01Soldiers would shave pig knuckles down into cube shapes.
35:04to resemble dice and threw them into their inverted shields placed on the ground.
35:09In the late 18th century, blackjack shows up based on a French card game.
35:14Apparently, Napoleon Bonaparte was a huge fan.
35:17And it was so popular among his soldiers...
35:19that he banned it from being played at the camps because it was too distracting.
35:23It seems...
35:24It seems a little hypocritical.
35:25But then again, I don't let Chump play Pokemon Go when he's here at the shop.
35:29Poker is believed to have been brought to America by European settlers...
35:34and traders.
35:35An 1829 account by English actor Joseph Crowell...
35:39describes a game he observed in New Orleans involving four players...
35:44a tiny card deck...
35:45and in true New Orleans fashion...
35:46a whole lot of beads.
35:48But now...
35:49not everyone was so gung-ho for betting.
35:51By 1910, most gambling was illegal...
35:54people across the nation.
35:55That is, until our fine state of Nevada legalized it...
35:59in 1931.
36:00It was the Great Depression and our economy needed a serious...
36:04kick in the pants.
36:05Let's just say...
36:06it worked out for us.
36:08These days...
36:09tens of billions of people visit Sin City annually...
36:12and Blackjack is...
36:14the table game of choice.
36:15Thousands of tables are in play all over the state.
36:19In 2022...
36:20people spent $7.3 billion...
36:24to play the game.
36:25Too bad...
36:26I don't have a Blackjack table at the back of the store.
36:29Ha, ha, ha.
36:34There's a woman in the shop with a vintage Louis Vuitton jacket...
36:37that she's asking $500...
36:39$250 for.
36:40But I have a few questions on its authenticity.
36:43So I'm having my vintage...
36:44clothing expert Marco come down to take a look...
36:47to let me know if it's really designed...
36:49a designer...
36:50or just another dud.
36:51Hello.
36:52Hello, lovely to meet you.
36:53Likewise.
36:54So, um...
36:55this is the jacket she brought in.
36:57I'm not quite sure if it's authentic...
36:59it has some nice features to it.
37:01So what do you think about this jacket at first glance?
37:04It's beautiful, but it's not authentically...
37:09Louie.
37:10It's one of those weird gray area where it's not...
37:14a bootleg, it's not authentic...
37:16but it's definitely valuable.
37:19What you have here is what we call a Dapper Dan piece.
37:22Now, Dapper Dan, if you don't...
37:24I don't know who he is.
37:25Famous designer, early hip-hop stars in the 80s.
37:28He used to have a shop...
37:29up in Harlem.
37:30You think about, like, 85, like, LL Cool J,
37:33Eric being right...
37:34Kim.
37:35And, um...
37:36he realized that people loved this monogram.
37:39They...
37:39love the logos.
37:40But think back to Louis Vuitton and Fendi.
37:44These brands weren't known for their fashion.
37:46These were, like, powerhouse brands known for their...
37:49their leather goods, their purses, their wallets, and whatnot.
37:52It didn't have any sauce, is what we would call...
37:54Yeah.
37:55So Dapper Dan, at that time, he figured it out.
37:57He would make beautiful...
37:59leather jackets.
38:00And he would buy these Louis Vuitton and Gucci purses,
38:03cut them up, and...
38:04you know, make Louis trim.
38:06And then he realized...
38:07he actually taught himself how...
38:09how to screen print himself on textiles.
38:12And that's what this jacket...
38:14ultimately is.
38:15He ended up...
38:16he called it.
38:17It wasn't so much of a knockoff, it was...
38:19a knock-up, to his words.
38:21Because he took that fabric and...
38:24made it into designs that really catered to the urban youth.
38:28But...
38:29this right here...
38:30is back in his heyday.
38:31This looks like a...
38:32you know...
38:33late 80s...
38:34early 90s piece...
38:35back when, like, the members-only jackets were in style.
38:38As you could see, it's very...
38:39reminiscent of a members-only silhouette.
38:41Yeah.
38:42Um...
38:43and yeah, the medium...
38:44my little tag is slightly off-center.
38:47But...
38:48this is a tell-tale sign of what I...
38:49Dapper Dan was doing.
38:50He wanted to bring that touch of Harlem...
38:52to the rest of the world.
38:53Indeed, man.
38:54But...
38:55he garnished so much attention...
38:57that eventually...
38:58Louis...
38:59Louis Vuitton and Fendi...
39:00caught wind of him and shut him down.
39:03So?
39:04What kind of value would you put on that?
39:05It's really one of, like, the onsets of urban fashion...
39:09streetwear, as we call it now.
39:11But definitely an iconic piece in hip-hop.
39:14fashion...
39:15easily...
39:16$1,000.
39:17That's what I sell them at my shop.
39:20It was a good find.
39:21Indeed.
39:22All right.
39:23Well, thanks for coming in, Marco.
39:24My pleasure.
39:25I love it.
39:26You have a gorgeous piece.
39:27Thank you so much.
39:28Nice meeting you.
39:29All right.
39:30Well, as cool as...
39:29it is to have a Dapper Dan in here.
39:31Even though Dapper Dan says it's a knock-up.
39:34It's still a knock-off.
39:35And I'm not allowed to sell it without getting in trouble.
39:37So...
39:38If it was in my...
39:39If it was this size, maybe I'd make you an offer.
39:40Because I could wear it.
39:41But...
39:42Not today.
39:43That's...
39:44Completely understandable.
39:45Thank you so much.
39:46I think you'll get some good money for it.
39:47Have a good day.
39:49Bye.
39:49Bye.
39:55Here they are.
39:56All right.
39:57I need to take these out and get them for sale.
39:58No, I think I'm gonna...
39:59Gotta keep them.
40:00Why?
40:01Because...
40:02They were signed by...
40:04Eddie Van Halen.
40:05The coolest guy on the planet.
40:07I think he paid like 10...
40:09$10,000 for these and you're thinking about wearing them?
40:11$10,500.
40:12Pay it.
40:13I'm kind of an...
40:14Uh...
40:15You know, I was around in the 80's.
40:16I mean, who can forget the hot for teacher video?
40:19I'm absolutely in love with them.
40:20Are you?
40:21And you're thinking about wearing them?
40:23I don't think they'll really fit me.
40:24But I sort of want to keep them.
40:25I don't know.
40:26And what are you doing there with that shirt?
40:28That looks horrible.
40:29All right.
40:30You know how Eddie Van Halen has the Frankenstrat?
40:31Yeah.
40:32He knows the Franken shoes.
40:33And since I owned the Franken shoes, I was gonna make the Franken shirt.
40:38What if I told you these are worth a lot of Franken money?
40:41Um...
40:42What do you mean?
40:43The mail came in today.
40:44The letter of authenticity is here and they're photo matched.
40:47So, you might...
40:48I want to sell them.
40:49Here's our photo matched to a concert.
40:51On July 30th, 1993 at...
40:53The World Music Theater in Tinsel Park, Illinois.
40:56Really?
40:58And didn't Steve say these would go for a little bit more if they were photo matched?
41:03He said like 50,000.
41:04Ugh.
41:05Why are you so sad, Rick?
41:06That's good news.
41:08I mean, I know you like the cool factor, but today, get these framed up, go for a lot...
41:13of money.
41:14I guess I am gonna sell them, but I think I still might design a shirt.
41:18Have at it.
41:19I'm gonna go get these out for sale.
41:21Would you wear one?
41:22Um...
41:23No, I don't...
41:23I don't really wear shirts covered in tape.
41:25He has no style whatsoever.
41:28Ha, ha, ha, ha.
41:29Ha, ha, ha.
