00:00Jeffrey Tambor has been fired from Amazon Studios Transparent over allegations of sexual
00:05harassment, but his Arrested Development family is still standing behind him, according
00:09to co-star David Cross. In an interview with AM New York, Cross says the majority of the
00:13cast of the cult comedy is supporting Tambor, who plays both George Bluth Sr. and Oscar
00:18Bluth on the show, despite the actor's termination from Transparent earlier this month.
00:22I can't speak for everybody, but I know there are a number of us who stand behind him.
00:26From the limited amount we know, we stand behind Jeffrey and I am one of them, Cross said,
00:30referencing the ensemble cast that includes Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Jessica Walter,
00:35Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi and Aaliyah Shawkat. Shawkat also appeared on the
00:40latest season of Transparent. The popular and quirky sitcom is set to return for new
00:45episodes when the fifth season premieres later this year, although Netflix has yet to set a
00:49launch date. The streaming giant has not commented on Tambor's status with the revival.
00:53Netflix and Arrested Producers 20th TV also declined comment on Wednesday when reached
00:58by THR. After an internal investigation into multiple allegations of sexual
01:02misconduct, including from one of his Transparent co-stars, Trace Lizette, who went public
01:06with her claims to The Hollywood Reporter, the show dropped Tambor from his four-season
01:10leading role as groundbreaking Transparent Maura Pfefferman, a role that has won him two Emmys.
01:16We are grateful to the many trans people who have supported our vision for Transparent since its
01:20inception and remain heartbroken about the pain and mistrust their experience has generated in
01:25our community, said series creator Jill Soloway in a statement at the time of Tambor's ouster.
01:30Tambor has denied the allegations and said he was profoundly disappointed in Amazon's
01:34handling of the situation, claiming that the accusations have never been revealed or
01:39discussed directly with me or anyone at Amazon. Cross-echo Tambor's sentiment.
01:43I think it's very curious that Amazon didn't make public the results of their internal
01:47investigation. I'm not sure why they would do that. I just know the whole thing is rather
01:51curious to me." Though Cross said he isn't the one making decisions about Tambor's role
01:55on the upcoming season, he said he doubted the Amazon decision would impact Tambor's dual
01:59roles on Arrested Development, especially since the season has already finished filming.
02:03I certainly hope not, he added.
