00:00Hi, I'm live in Oxford, Mississippi this morning where over an inch of ice accretion happened.
00:05Here you can see the ice accruing on all the trees out here. I just heard a tree snap off in the
00:11distance under the weight of the ice and this is accumulating on all the elevated surfaces and the
00:16roads. The roads are an ice skating rink out here and as I came into Oxford last night I saw powers
00:22power explosions in the distance as the power was knocked out transformer explosions illuminating the
00:27sky that bright blue green color so very dangerous travel conditions out here and it's also impacting
00:34lives out here impacting homes and vehicles I've seen trees that are on top of vehicles as well
00:41there was another big branch that just came down and so it is a very dangerous ice storm here
00:46unfolding across northern Mississippi with over 100,000 power outages happening out here so very
00:53dangerous scenes uh the crippling ice storm has definitely come to fruition here in northern
00:58Mississippi and likely is going to continue into the early afternoon with that heavy freezing rain
01:03thunder and lightning thunderstorms out here as well dumping very heavy rainfall rates
