00:00So, Cabin, it's funny.
00:02Your age sometimes depends on the job you have.
00:06Someone who is ancient in terms of quarterbacks but would be younger on the
00:12coach side is Phillip Rivers, who is getting interviews, right,
00:17at least in Buffalo.
00:19We've seen some reports, by the way, that Josh Allen is, I don't know,
00:23I mean, might as well be naming the head coach here.
00:25What are you hearing around the Phillip Rivers situation specifically?
00:29Yeah, so owner Terry Pagula, he wanted Josh Allen involved.
00:33Now, Brian D'Abel is definitely a key candidate of interest.
00:39He already interviewed.
00:40He's got this really well-respected in their building because of the work he
00:42did with Josh Allen.
00:44But they're casting a wide net.
00:45Brandon being the GM made it clear there was – he knew about the reports out
00:49there, but they are looking at a lot of people, including Phillip Rivers.
00:52So why Phillip Rivers?
00:54It's kind of the fiery nature of the way that he played.
00:57He has been a high school coach.
01:00Yes, he's never coached in the National Football League or even college football.
01:03But you have to remember, guys, Josh McCown was a guy that was a runner-up,
01:07really, at one point for one of the Texas head coaching searches over the years.
01:11He didn't wind up getting it.
01:12But his interview was so good, talking to someone close to the situation.
01:17They were like, look, if it doesn't work out for us, maybe someday we'll look at him.
01:19And obviously it's worked out pretty well with D'Amico Ryans.
01:21But you want to get in front of a guy like Phillip Rivers, see how he presents himself.
01:25What's his plan?
01:26Not only for the quarterback, what's his staff going to look like?
01:30Who does he know?
01:30Who does he not know?
01:32You want to get in front of him.
01:33And by the way, let's say they hire somebody else.
01:36Who's to say the new head coach doesn't want Phillip Rivers on their staff?
01:40Most people haven't thought about that, but that was actually mentioned to me with the
01:43coach over the weekend.
01:45Because with Rivers, he's a guy you want to get in front of.
01:49Tremendous leader, superhuman being.
01:52Everyone's seen the NFL film stuff with him wired up.
01:54I mean, I know it's a little bit unorthodox, and it's certainly surprising.
01:58But I give the Bills credit.
02:00They had an odd week, let's call it like it is, with Pagoola and Bean speaking.
02:04Their press conference was a little different.
02:07But I like that they're casting the wide net.
02:08Why not do that?
