While Grade I victories and a ‘TDN Rising Star presented by Hagyard’ nod make for a potent double, Spendthrift Farm's Stallion Sales Manager Mark Toothaker suggests that the defining narrative for Spendthrift's new stallion duo is the surging commercial power of their sires. This year Goal Oriented becomes the fourth son of Not This Time to go to stud in Kentucky and the first to retire to Spendthrift, while Chancer McPatrick is the first son of McKinzie to join the stallion ranks.

00:00There's a familiar sense of anticipation this time of year at Spendthrift Farm as another
00:06breeding season gets underway. This year the farm is adding two new stallions who are both
00:10grade one winning TDN Rising Stars. Here Mark Toothaker introduces us to Goal-Oriented Enchancer
00:16McPatrick. We're very excited to have Goal-Oriented. We know that Donato Lanny buys an incredible horse
00:34and we had looked at this horse several times during the year and we just the one thing missing
00:39off a roster was a not this time. Starting out his career being a TDN Rising Star and a horse that
00:46won his first two starts right off the bat. He's a horse that went to battle with some of the best
00:52of his generation. He ran an extremely game race in the Haskell. He was only beaten three quarters
00:58of the length by journalism. For him to round out his career running 108 buyer and four on the sheets
01:06and just ran the race we had been waiting for him to run. I mean it was just dominant and you know
01:12to break 121 you know for seven eights on that track that day was very exciting. Goal-oriented
01:20grade one achieved. That was one of the things a fast dirt horse by not this time out of a deep
01:29two-time grade three winning mare that was a half to everybody's favorite horse Lady Eli.
01:35Physically he is a very beautiful horse. He's got plenty of stretch to him being 16-3.
01:41He's got a beautiful shoulder. He's got a really good hip and he's outstanding up front. Very
01:49correct. You know we've had so much inquiries about the horse and I have just told everybody
01:56submit the best mare you can submit. We've just been blown away by the reception that he's had.
02:03Chancellor McPatrick was a horse we really had on the radar last year. Being a two-time grade one winner,
02:08a horse that won the Hopeful and the Champagne. Extremely difficult for a two-year-old to be able to put
02:14those two top races back to back. Just a horse that showed toughness and showed grit. He ran a great race
02:21to close out his career finishing just behind Nysos and Citizen Bull in the Breeders' Cup mile. He's got an
02:28exciting pedigree. Everybody loves Bernardini as a broodmare sire. And so the second dam, Dream Empress,
02:34the horse that won the Alcibiades here at Keeneland was second in the Breeders' Cup juvenile. He's a
02:40beautiful physical. He's a horse that's just a touch below 16-1. He's about as pretty as they make
02:47them. He's just got an unbelievable hip. I'd put him up against anybody physically. I think he fits a
02:52lot of mares and a horse that sold out extremely fast.
