00:00I'll look in.
00:01I need to get that money.
00:04She's out of the states winning AP Indy Merit.
00:07Five, five, five, five.
00:10Possibilities endless.
00:12Ladies and gentlemen, here's the champion.
00:14Seven million dollars in the back.
00:18When you look at the race record that Fiona has compiled,
00:22it's extremely impressive.
00:24Grade one winner, new course record holder at Saratoga,
00:27earner of over two million dollars.
00:30She knows how to win.
00:31I mean, her race record shows that.
00:33She's always been very competitive.
00:35Fiona's owned by Mike Lee and George Messina.
00:38I met George in Louisiana.
00:41His son Trace is an assistant for Brad Cox,
00:44and they're just such great people that it really,
00:48it's an honor to be able to consign a horse like Fiona on their behalf.
00:53She's a typical candy rod, really good-looking filly.
00:56Plenty of scope and length to her.
00:58I think immediately we thought after training her for a couple months,
01:01she would be grass.
01:02Starting out that winter, trying to get her maiden broke,
01:05winning a first level allowance, getting some black type,
01:08and one thing led to another, and then obviously she'd become very competitive
01:11at the graded stake level and ultimately become a grade stake winner, grade one winner.
01:15I think the highlight performance that Fiona's had thus far has been her grade one win in the Saratoga Oaks.
01:21She beat a pretty good field that day, including another field named Nitrogen.
01:26They both ran exceptionally well.
01:28She set a new course record that day.
01:30Nitrogen in front, opulent restraint comes back,
01:33and here's Fien surging on the outside.
01:35Here's the line, photo finish!
01:37When they flashed her number on the board, you know, George and Mike and their families
01:41were about 20 feet to my right, and I look over and I see them celebrating like I've never seen
01:47before.
01:47It was such an awesome moment.
01:50Winning at Kentucky Downs was a huge race, the Dueling Grounds Oaks.
01:54Fighting back shown a lot of determination and will to win that race.
01:59You think to yourself, how is she going to get there?
02:02And she does, and I just think she's got that tenacity, that will to win,
02:07and I think that's what makes her a really special filly.
02:10Candy Quest and Fionn in the Dueling Grounds Oaks, a thriller that goes to Fionn!
02:15The Regret here as a three-year-old was a big win,
02:18and the Jockey Club Oaks at Aqueduct late in her three-year-old season was a big win as well.
02:23She's running on Sunday at Keeneland in the Grade 3 Root & Reel Douger.
02:29It looks like a very good spot for her.
02:31She's only four. She's got plenty of race left,
02:34and I think that's something that any buyer can look forward to in her.
02:39You know, you can take her, you can run in graded stakes races throughout the year.
02:42You can run in graded stakes races before the breeding season.
02:45She's an out-of-a-Giant's Causeway mare.
02:49Second dam, a broodmare sire is an unbridled song.
02:52Third dam is the hare, who is one of Deputy Minister's most brilliant sons.
02:56So the pedigree is rich in quality.
02:59You know, Twirling Candy himself is getting to be a great broodmare sire.
03:03He's got a current Grade 1 winner in Japan named Sixpence,
03:07who's out of a Twirling Candy mare, Finley's Lucky Charm.
03:10I think you're going to see Twirling Candy start to become a really strong broodmare sire here in the States
03:15as well.
03:16We're fortunate to have her dam, Gaelic Gold, that Dixiana's going to sell with us.
03:20Obviously a Grade 1 producer at this point already.
03:23She's in fold of Vekoma, who is off to another son of Candy Ride, who's off to a brilliant start.
03:31Same kind of cross as you've got with Fion with the Candy Ride attributes on both Vekoma and Twirling Candy.
03:37Wonderful opportunity.
03:38We're very appreciative of Bill Shiley and the team at Dixiana giving us the opportunity to sell Gaelic Gold.
