00:07It's been a long time since I've heard this kind of buzz on a stallion's foals and I think he's
00:13gonna have some of that versatility that he himself had and that his pedigree has and and
00:18maybe he can be like his dad not this time. I think up to the marks versatility being able
00:24to break his maiden on the dirt and then having such a successful career on the turf at different
00:29distances is what stood out the most to me. His last four starts were at four different distances
00:36which is kind of remarkable when you think about it. He had tactical speed and could lay just off
00:42and be able to make it make a big run and when he did he kind of exploded. Up to
00:47the mark was up to
00:49the challenge today he dominates the field. One of the best grass horses in the world from a mile to
00:54a
00:54mile and a half. He beat Master of the Seas at a mile at Keeneland you know made this big
00:59move on
01:00the turn and he had this incredible turn of foot and kind of kicked you know started kicking away from
01:04the field and and and I was wowed by it and I said we need to get involved with this
01:09horse. And up to
01:10the mark is coming on Master of the Seas up to the mark is there Master of the Seas head
01:17-bombing photo.
01:18And he came back and he almost won the Breeders' Cup turf at a mile and a half. He was
01:23second choice that
01:24day and it took a six time group one winner to beat him. When Breeders came and saw him here
01:29at
01:29the farm they fell in love with him and then even more so once they've seen how his foals look.
01:34He
01:34had his biggest book of mares this past year which is pretty unique. You know it doesn't happen where
01:41horses go from their first year to the second year to the third year and the third year be more
01:46popular.
01:47Up to the mark had two sell at phasing November last year and both brought around 400,000
01:54and were just really good advertisements for him and a great representation of the physicals
01:59I've seen around the farms. We have several up to the mark yearlings here at the farm and as a
02:06group
02:06I've been very impressed with them. The two fillies that we're going to look at today are both really
02:11good moving fillies and they've been very easy to be around at the barn. This filly the easel queen is
02:19just a lovely bodied filly. She's got great strength and substance. I think one of the characteristics
02:24that all the up to the marks that I've seen have great shoulders, great hips and just very well
02:30balanced horses. I think just the consistency of the physicals I've seen most stallions have some
02:39good-looking ones that they can point to the first couple years but it's pretty across the board that
02:44we've been really excited about his offspring. Up to the mark is reproducing himself you know they
02:51they're beautifully balanced horses, they have big walks, they're very athletic and I think it's
02:57exactly not just what the market wants but it's what horsemen want. What I think makes Not This Time
03:04such a great sire is that versatility and I think Up to the Mark is going to bring that. There's
03:09an
03:10opportunity for him probably to be dirt as well as turf. I mean the family goes back to one of
03:16the
03:16old Ginner families. I think Not This Time as popular as he is right now and a son you know
03:23a son that's
03:24accomplished as up to the mark is is a big deal.
