00:00Welcome back.
00:01The state of Minnesota, in the United States, has become a major focus of anti-immigrant
00:06networks empowered by the Donald Trump administration.
00:09More than 2,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE agents are spreading fear among immigrants
00:15communities in Minneapolis, Minnesota's largest city.
00:19Door-to-door searches in certain neighborhoods are part of ICE's new strategy, which includes
00:25requesting documentation from anyone the agents deem appropriate, regardless of whether
00:30they are U.S. citizens or not.
00:33The U.S. president's radical deportation campaign has been severely criticized by mayors and
00:39governors of various states, and several experts have described it as a racist deportation strategy
00:46under the guise of a supposed fight against crime.
00:55In this regard, Skylar Fallon, a local resident, recounts her experiences with aggressive ICE
01:01rates and their effects in Minneapolis.
01:04Yeah, so I was sitting in my living room and I saw this car behind us hit the tree, and
01:12as soon as they hit the tree, the car doors fling open and two teenagers come running out.
01:18So I run outside, grab my whistle, and I start sprinting down the block to try to find them.
01:23They're nowhere to be seen, they're running through backyards, and all of a sudden they
01:26come out, and the teenager comes and he yells for help, help me, help me, help me, and the
01:32ICE agent ends up coming, running, and tackling him in the middle of the street, pins him down,
01:37is speaking to him in Spanish, trying to get him to calm down, and then he arrests him.
01:43Awful!
01:44Absolutely awful, and for it to be happening in Minneapolis is just so heartbreaking, but also
01:49it is so unifying, because I know that if there's any community that is going to show
01:54up in absolutely frigid temperatures and really give the middle finger is Minneapolis.
02:02They don't care about documentation, they're absolutely taking everybody, and then they end
02:06up releasing them, just because they're on this power trip.
