00:00Also in the United States, the immigration raids promoted by President Donald Trump
00:04are already beginning to be felt in that country's economy.
00:07From New York, our correspondent Henry Camelo tells us more.
00:15The manhunt that immigration raids have become in the United States
00:19are not only breaking thousands of immigrant families.
00:22They are also taking away a large part of the economy of the entire country,
00:26bringing the United States closer every day to what is already being called a recessionary mega-recession.
00:35If those who are washing dishes and cooking in all the restaurants
00:38are going to have to be United States citizens, those who wait on tables.
00:47Those who pick tomatoes, corn and oranges, those who clean the vegetables,
00:50those who drive the trucks on those roads to take them to the supermarkets.
00:56If they are all going to have to be United States citizens,
01:01they will not be able to continue paying them the very low amounts they are paying the immigrants.
01:05They did not think about that.
01:07No one is going to win in this.
01:19Especially sectors such as gastronomy and construction are being hit the hardest.
01:23Business is down a lot by 50 or 60 percent or so, and that's everywhere.
01:31Everywhere you go, people are complaining.
01:38Immigrant seizure operations such as the one that occurred in Tallahassee, Florida,
01:42where 100 workers were arrested for ICE,
01:45along with another one that occurred in a chain of hardware stores,
01:48are leaving the construction sector paralyzed and on the verge of economic collapse.
01:52We found ourselves in one of the stores of the Home Depot chain,
01:58which are the warehouses that sell construction materials.
02:01This place has become the epicenter of the ICE raids,
02:04because everyday immigrants come here in search of work.
02:06Being deported, immigrants have stopped going to buy and offer their services to this hardware store,
02:18which has already lost 14 percent of its shares in the stock market.
02:25And the national economy is expected to shrink by up to 50 percent.
02:29But still the raids don't stop now.
02:31ICE agents are hunting immigrants even in the crop fields,
02:33thus compromising the country's food supply chain.
02:44The United States has a shortage of employees,
02:46and if you eliminate 5 million, 10 million, 15 million,
02:5120 million immigrant workers who have no documentation in the United States,
02:54and you have nothing to replace them with,
02:56there is going to be a very high inflation.
02:58We have a few strong years ahead of us of not only deporting many good people that are in this country.
03:15But what is going to affect the economy in these next three years,
03:18I am really afraid that we are going to have a recession in financial terms.
03:21Despite having given a supposed pause to the immigration raids in hotels,
03:33restaurants and farm fields,
03:34Trump ordered again to resume the ICE operations in those workplaces.
03:38According to analysts,
03:40the cost-benefit of the immigration raids that Donald Trump is implementing
03:43is the same that he has applied in many of his own companies.
03:46Many of them have ended up bankrupt.
03:48They have ended up in Bancarrota.
