00:00On Media Miss Minute today, first Greenland, next Canada?
00:04President Trump appears to be turning his attention even farther north.
00:08Plus, California Governor Gavin Newsom backing away from a post by his own press office
00:13calling ICE state-sponsored terrorism.
00:19I'm Craig DeGrowley.
00:21In today's Media Miss Minute, two stories that got very different coverage,
00:25depending on where you get your news.
00:27Starting on the right, as President Trump pushes a controversial plan for the U.S. to
00:32take control of Greenland, he's also zeroing in on Canada's Arctic frontier.
00:38U.S. officials are now reportedly pursuing talks with Ottawa to coordinate northern border defense
00:44aimed at blocking Russia and China from expanding their presence in the Arctic.
00:49The White House frames it as national security.
00:51Critics see it as a dramatic expansion of American power,
00:55with almost no debate in partisan media.
00:58Now to what's being missed on the left.
01:00California Governor Gavin Newsom walking back a post by his own press office
01:05that called ICE state-sponsored terrorism.
01:08The shift came while Newsom was hosting conservative commentator Ben Shapiro on his podcast.
01:14We work very directly with ICE as it relates to CDCR, state prison.
01:19California has cooperated with more ICE transfers probably than any other state in the country.
01:25Newsom also said he does not support calls to abolish ICE,
01:29a sharp contrast from the language used by his staff just days earlier.
