January can be a tough month for a lot of people. We’ve been asking people from the North East what they do to cheer themselves up on the cold, dark days.

00:00I don't know, I like to go on a lot of walks, as you can tell, around Newcastle, yeah, I do a lot of exercise, I row, so I do that.
00:10I just think that we're very lucky to live in this country when I think of places like Gaza and Ukraine.
00:18It upsets me very, very much, and we've got nothing to complain about.
00:23So I think it's quite cathartic in a way, you know, when you're working hard, you can feel yourself like getting a bit tired.
00:29So at the end, it's like, you've just released all that stress, I suppose.
00:33Oh, very much so, we make the most of the coast of Tarn Valley.
00:39We don't stop in the house and do nothing, you've got to get out and about, really.
00:45There's so much on your doorstep.
00:48Obviously you need to tackle it head on with different resources, mental health, stuff from the NHS,
00:52but you can take steps yourself, so getting out in nature, I always feel like it's nice to clear your head of it.
