With Christmas lights shining and celebrations underway, we’re heading out across the North East to hear what traditions people cherish most. Whether it’s carols, cooking, gifting or gathering with loved ones, what do you love the most?

00:00I'm looking forward to seeing family and everything. I think that's the best part.

00:04If you're in different parts of the country, in different countries, getting everyone together.

00:09My favourite one is probably going to midnight mass at my church.

00:15So this year I'm most looking forward to gift giving.

00:18I really like getting people personalised gifts and making people gifts.

00:21I think that's a really nice way to show you care.

00:24You're taking some time for them and you already know them.

00:27Having that family get together and everybody making an effort to be together.

00:31I think that's the most important thing for me for Christmas.

00:36Yeah, I love Christmas. I liked it more when I was a kid.

00:40It's very different now, but I still like it.

00:43It's just good fun singing Christmas carols.

00:45Yeah, I think for me, I don't really see my family that often.

00:51So I suppose it's just that sort of getting together and yeah.
