00:00A Breaking Bad movie is in the works, and we've got the inside details.
00:10Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the AMC show's creator, Vince Gilligan,
00:14is working on a two-hour Breaking Bad movie. It remains unclear if the film will be released
00:19in theaters or made for TV. Breaking Bad, of course, became a critical breakout for AMC
00:24and ran for five seasons. Word on the new film project has been floating around the industry
00:29with a possible fake or working title of Greenbrier, but details are slim. It's unclear if the movie
00:35would be another prequel, like Better Call Saul, or a follow-up of some sort.
00:39What those folks want is to know what happened to their boy. A sack full of cash on their doorstep,
00:44that's just gonna raise more questions.
00:46The film is said to follow the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom. Production is
00:51expected to begin this month in New Mexico, and the New Mexico Film Office confirmed that
00:56a project with the title of Greenbrier is slated to shoot in the region. It's uncertain if any of
01:01the show's original stars, like Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul, are involved in the new project,
01:06which sources stress will be set in the existing Breaking Bad franchise.
01:11Saul knows a man. He specializes in giving people new identities. You know, I really think that would be good for you.
01:19Sources say Gilligan will write the script, executive produce, and possibly direct. Representatives for Gilligan
01:25and Breaking Bad producers Sony Pictures Television did not immediately respond to THR's request for comment.
