Three people including a 12-year-old girl have been killed in a car crash in southern Queensland. Two Utes collided about 200 kilometres north-west of Brisbane overnight.

00:00It's been a very sad day here in the South Burnett following last night's triple fatal
00:06crash.
00:07Early investigations suggest a Dodge Ram and a Ford Ranger, two big Utes, collided on the
00:13Bunya Highway just after 10pm, about 200 k's west of Brisbane.
00:19The driver of the Dodge, a 34-year-old Kingaroy man, died at the scene.
00:23There were three people in the Ford, a 44-year-old woman and her two daughters, a 12-year-old
00:28and a 13-year-old.
00:30The woman and the 12-year-old died at the scene, but the 13-year-old was flown to the Queensland
00:35Children's Hospital and is now in a stable condition.
00:37The crash itself happened on the Bunya Highway in a locality known as Tobinga.
00:42It's about 10 minutes outside of Kingaroy.
00:45The Mayor of the South Burnett, Cathy Duff, says the community is in mourning.
00:49So I'm feeling very, very sad and just frustrated for our region.
00:56It's not a good way to start the new year and it's just such a tragedy for the families
01:02of the loved ones.
01:03And I'd like to extend our deepest sympathy on behalf of the whole region to the families
01:08of those who have lost their lives.
01:10It's just so sad.
01:13And also offering our prayers to the little girl who's still fighting for her life.
01:20Police are still appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward as the Forensic
01:25Crash Unit tries to piece together exactly what happened.
