00:00Mostly postpone any New Year's resolutions till after January.
00:04Yeah, it is the worst month of the year, so why give up all the things that you like doing the
00:08most? Apart from that, yeah, I heard the phrase but not really taking much notice of it to be
00:13quite honest. But I have booked some holidays, so you never know. I mean, in January it's a bit
00:19nipping, not many people have money, but I don't mind like nipping into town. Me and Becca nipping
00:25into town, having a little walk around, do a bit of shopping. Granted, we've not got much,
00:29but go for something to eat, treat ourselves and then have a nice cosy night in. You know,
00:34The gym works well as well. The gym, yeah, we've just both started the gym as well recently.
00:38Erm, so that's good, keeping us occupied, you know, through January whilst it's a bit colder.
00:43Erm, but yeah, it's around it. Anything that you'd like to add on?
00:46Erm, no, being with family. Being with family is really good to do.
00:51Yeah, sitting at home with family, nice and cosy, watching a couple of films,
00:55works quite well for a weekend.
00:57I find very important for me is to try and spend my life doing things that I don't need to escape
01:03from. So I can't pretend that it's always been like that. And so I suppose if in times when I've
01:08struggled with that, how do I deal with it? I would say I have a vision for what, why I'm doing what I'm
01:13doing. So the same thing like times when I can't afford to go on holiday, you know, me and my girlfriend,
01:18we think like, how do we make our life something we don't need to escape from? So that's probably the main
01:23thing. Erm, and you can kind of distract with purpose to an extent. I find if you distract yourself
01:30too much with purpose, you run out of the pleasure side of things. See, the weather right now is kind
01:34of depressing. So I'd free my time by studying, I'm going to the gym, I'm doing gatherings.
01:40The way everyone looks at Monday sometimes, everyone seems to be a bit depressed. Erm, in fact,
01:45it starts on Sunday night, the depression kicks in Monday morning, emails, deadlines, etc.
01:50However, there's a positivity here. Look at it as a new beginning, look at January as a new beginning.
01:55It's quite cliche, new year, new me, but it's the beginning of a new year, time to put in some
01:59new targets. Erm, I know it's cold, but it's not as cold as some places around the country.
02:06A friend of mine was in Lapland recently, it was minus 31. Evidently, he went there for enjoyment,
02:10but it's still decent enough weather here. It's a beautiful day today.
02:14Er, find yourself a nice coat, a nice scarf, plenty of hot drinks, keep yourself busy.
02:19Busy is good, the devil plays with idle minds. Keep seeing your friends. Go to the pub.
02:24Yeah, go to the pub. Erm, buy new clothes. Yeah, that makes you feel a lot better.
02:30It does. Rabbit holing yourself into, into ideals like that, like, oh, it's Blue Monday,
02:35is not going to help. Erm, there are things that you can do, for me personally, it's just doing the things that I enjoy doing.
02:40Erm, doing the things that you actually like, er, is what's most important in January.
02:45Family and friends are the best, because yeah, it can be a dire month after Christmas, New Year,
02:51so just keep yourself a family and friends.
02:53Get outside a bit, you know, I know it's cold, layer up, you know, go and see your friends,
02:57they want to see you, and you want to see them too, so, you know.
