Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to join US President Donald Trump’s newly announced “Board of Peace,” according to the Kremlin.
The Kremlin confirmed the invitation, saying Russian officials are now studying the proposal and examining the details before making any decision. No timeline has been given for a response, and Moscow has not indicated whether Putin is likely to accept the offer.
The invitation comes after Trump officially outlined the structure of the Board of Peace, a US-led body intended to oversee the implementation of a ceasefire agreement and post-war arrangements in Gaza. The board is expected to play a central role in guiding political, security, and reconstruction efforts under Trump’s broader plan.
The White House has described the board as the highest tier in a three-level governance structure, tasked with fulfilling Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza. The proposal follows the launch of “phase two” of the US-brokered plan by special envoy Steve Witkoff.
If accepted, Putin’s participation would bring Russia into a US-led framework overseeing the ceasefire process, adding a major global power to the proposed council.
