00:00Patangas 1st District Representative Leandro Ligar de Leviste is now investigating the Binambang Riverbank Protection Project,
00:06which is one of the anomalous flood control projects in the province.
00:10The congressman revealed that the P338 million project sustained damage due to the installation of the supposedly 15-meter sheet piles,
00:18but it was just installed with a depth of 3 to 5 meters.
00:22According to Leviste, more than two-thirds of the sheet piles of the damaged project were missing.
00:26As of now, the representative asserted that he will file a case with the Provincial Prosecutor's Office regarding the issue.
00:33Leviste is also calling for comprehensive technical audit to establish the liability of those involved in the anomalous projects.
00:41We should have a comprehensive technical audit of DPWH projects,
00:47because if we're only asserting that nandadaya ang mga contractors,
00:53kaya wala pa pong mga nasampahan ng kaso.
00:56Pero kung i-audit natin ang mga projects,
01:03which are out there in the open,
01:07all across the country and on the Sumbong sa Pangulo website,
01:10then we have evidence for much bigger cases to be filed.
01:16If I can tie it together then.
01:20The case that should be being discussed is more than just an incident with one official of DPWH.
01:28It is why, in this particular project, the public paid for 15 meters and only got 4 meters.
01:36which raises the question,
01:40in the 1 trillion pesos of flood control projects that we paid for,
01:45how much worth did we actually get?
